tOP 16 teams since 2001

  • Read an article on the top 16 programs since 2001. - -they came to this through various scoring system: NC-10 pts - -FF- 4 pts - - All americans – 1 pt-- Over all winning pct , Poll Style points , Highest winning pct , Total NCAA wins , Total NBA Draft picks since 2001, - -etc, etc, so with that being said here they are, a couple of these surprise me, some that their there and then where they are: Here they are:

#16 Texas- -Total points - 24 - -they have the 9th most NBA draft picks since 2001

    #15 Ohio state- - Total pts- 24.5- - 2 final fours ( 07 , 12 )

    #14 Villanova- -Total pts- 28- - - 2 final fours ( 09 , 16 )

    #13 Maryland- -Total pts- 29- - - 2 final fours (01, 02 )

    #12 Arizona- – - - -total pts- 35- - - they have 20 NBA picks .

    #11 Wisconsin- - Total pts- 35- - - 2 final fours (14 , 15 )

    #10 UCLA- - - - Total pts- 35- - - - 3 final fours ( 06 ,07, 08 )

    #9 Louisville- - - Total pts- 41- - - - 3 final fours ( 05 , 12 , 13 )

    #8 Michigan St- - Total pts- 48- - - 5 final fours (01 , 05 , 09 , 10 , 15 )

    #7 Syracuse- – total pts- 54.5- - - 3 final fours (03 , 13 , 16 )

    #6 Florida- - - - Total pts- 65- - - - 3 final fours (06 ,07 ,14 )

    #5 Kentucky- - -Total pts- 83- - - -4 final fours ( 11 , 12 , 14 , 15 ) & the most NBA 32 picks.

    #4 U Conn- - - - Total pts- 84.5- - -4 final fours (04 , 09 , 11 , 14 )

    #3 Kansas- - - - Total pts- 89- - - -4 final fours (02 , 03 , 08 , 12 )

    #2 N Carol- - - -Total pts- 93- - - - -4 final fours ( 05 ,08 ,09 ,16 )

    #1 Duke- - - - - -Total pts- 121- - - -4 final fours ( 02 , 04 , 10 , 15 )

Based of the point system they used, these have been the 16 most successful teams in the Nation since 2001. -A couple of things that surprised me from this: # 1 - Was Texas being on the list, yes, the are 16th but still.- - # 2 is , we are more successful then Kentucky.- - Then # 3 - We had a discussion on another thread about how some felt we needed to have a little more regularity of making a final four appearance & I’m looked and if you notice we have made the final four the same amount of times since 2001 with 4 appearances, as the other schools such as Duke , N Carolina , U Conn , & Kentucky - - Only Michigan State has made more final four appearances with 5 then KU , kind of interesting. - Plus if you are to look at the schools OTHER then Kentucky among these schools, you will notice the frequency of the gaps from going to the final four pretty similar. - - looking between 2-3 yr gap between appearances & then also 4-5 yr gap, so actually we showing up just as frequent as the others, - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • WOW sorry, - - -jumpin - - -gee - -hossa - -fats. - -Not sure why teams listed 16-10 are in such big numbers - -sorry. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 Remove the space between the # sign and the number. I think this will clear it up. Also hit enter twice to start a new row when doing lists. Kinda a strange formatting deal.

  • @dylans thanks, greatly appreciated lol I’m so hyper right now- -ready to get this Big 12 tourney going watching some ACC right now - -MY time of year such a junkie lol. - -watching Danny and Wake Forest right now. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 just needed to hit returnafter each line

  • @jayballer54 Makes me think a Texas alum put this list together. Who the hell makes any kind of a list and goes to 16? Top 5. Top 10. Maybe Top 15. But 16? Smells like Bevo

  • @nuleafjhawk Actually it came from a sports writer from the sporting news. A writer by the name Of Bill Bender, pulled it up after reading from another thread posted here about Frank be name AA from sporting news, - -Not any Texas writer. – ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

  • @jayballer54 Finished cleaning up the list using the info @dylans and @Ralph gave. Hope you are ok with that!

  • @mayjay I missed #11 and was to lazy to go back and finish

  • @jayballer54

KU has been the most consistent team on that list. They have been good that entire stretch.

Just about every other school has missed the tournament at least once, and some on that list have had outright bad stretches.

It ultimately goes back to the discussion we have here constantly - what’s worth more, consistency or overwhelming greatness. UConn has three titles in this period, same as KU in the last 70 years.

Kentucky was basically bad for half of this time, yet they are fifth because Calipari turned them back into an absolute monster of a program.

I’m torn on this. I like knowing that KU will be good every year, but I also want to lift the big crown as much as the other power schools.

  • @mayjay Hey more then happy, thanks for the help, me and computer smartness do not fit to well thanks a lot I appreciate it bunches. - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
