KSU up late against WVU
-
@kjayhawks maybe, but things changed A LOT after that call
-
I jinxed the grape apes by putting up an identical thread. My bad.
-
Breaking news since everyone is in this thread Kentucky may not have Fox healthy for when they play us.
-
Will Liberace’s boys prevail & provoke a “storming of the court”? It’s OK have cake & eat it too…
-
Grapes!
-
Why did that look like a moving screen?
-
No chance WVU has players foul out against us lol.
-
Aaaaaaaand, this is where Weber loses.
-
@chriz He’s just the card to draw…
-
@BShark interesting development
-
WVU = pretender
-
BPI is clearly a really good prediction method.
-
Well do they storm?
-
KSU will pull the upset 79-75, despite missing 14 FTS
-
If KU wins on Tuesday, KU goes 4 up on WVU and the Big 12 race essentially becomes a two horse race between KU and Baylor.
-
@HawkChamp KSUCK fans blame refs, we don’t do that at Kansas, KSU missed 14 free throws, ended up shooting just over 50% from the line. I’ll blame the refs when teams don’t throw the ball outta bounds (KSU did several times), don’t miss FTs, give up wide open layups, etc.
-
@kjayhawks hey bud, how many times have you heard me whine about the refs? Don’t I usually talk about what OUR players need to do? The call, IMO, was not flagrant and was unintentional and it did change momentum. I don’t want a “We don’t do that at Kansas” speech. Thanks.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 yes, that would put WVU out of the conference race
-
@KUSTEVE STEVE DID IT, STEVE DID IT !! LOL
-
@HawkChamp I agree that it was a bad call, but I think it’s chicken s**t to blame the out come of games on refs. I’m not trying to insult you. Just think it gives us a bad name. I’m not saying you are always on that wagon buddy. Just my two cents worth on the matter.
-
@KUSTEVE OH SHIT STEVE YOU DIDN’T do it Willie the Cheshire Cat won anyway !!
-
@globaljaybird lmao!!!
-
@kjayhawks I’ve whined about the refs plenty. Sorry!
-
@wissox I don’t think there’s anything wrong with saying there is a bad call or anything but as a coach and former player you have to hold yourself and your teammates accountable for the games outcome.
-
@kjayhawks I know, but as KU bucket fans, we’ve done plenty of blaming refs. May not be right, but it’s part of being fans I guess, and who really cares? I don’t care if it looks bad because I’m complaining in my living room and on a little social media site with a few like minded fans.
-
@BShark what’s wrong w/fox?
-
@globaljaybird lololol…
-
@wissox Absolutely.
-
@wissox doesn’t really bother me in your house. But I think in public and on social media gives us fans a bad name. I think that’s one of the biggest issues in the world today, no is held accountable or responsible for their own actions. That being said I’m OK to agree to disagree with anyone. Sorry if I offended anyone @HawkChamp
-
@kjayhawks your good - I thought you were correcting me.
-
@kjayhawks Don’t get over confident with KSU either. It’s going to be a fight in the Green Apple.
-
@truehawk93 I’m very worried about them!
-
Bramlage was really loud, louder than AFH has been lately. I am not the only one that has observed this, the Kansan has a story on this.

Sounds like he should be okay.
-
@JayHawkFanToo the one thing I didn’t hear was fu KU. Stay classy ksu. Did you ready what Allen said about our place?
-
No, but I watched the KSU game and it was continuously loud, very loud. Lately at AFH the noise comes and goes and it is not quite like it used to be.
-
@JayHawkFanToo maybe they will have a full house every game now?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 @JayHawkFanToo the student section stood the whole during the tech game, we were GA behind them and had to stand to see. I think the lower levels are quieter than normal the last few years. The loudest the fieldhouse was when I was there was Texas in 09. I think it’s louder for better games when your up 8 or 10 most of the game it’s not that crazy. Ether way get the word out to challenge our fans no way is the octogon of dumb better than AFH.
-
Part of the problems is that courtside tickets are so expensive that mostly corporations buy them and you have people siting there for whom it is more of a social than a sports event. I have seen younger couples with young kids sitting there who visited with each other the entire game and paid little attention to the game and the kids never took their eyes off their cell phones. At times, they almost have to be shamed into standing during rallies. I would refer to see students sitting there but I think that ship sailed a long time ago…

@kjayhawks said:
So what is your opinion on the play where a technical foul was called on the Kansas St player for attempting to dunk the ball while fouled?
Normally a player would be called for a technical for hanging on the rim or celebrating afterwords. We saw a player attempt a dunk, get fouled, come down and his hand inadvertently collided with the defenders face. That warranted a technical on the offensive player? I don’t know how any of those 3 ref’s could look at that play and see anything more than inadvertent contact. What was the offensive player supposed to do as he’s breaking his fall? It’s as if the ref’s forgot that the K-St player was fouled-first.
It’s just a bad call and doesn’t belong in this wonderful game. I expect better from the ref’s, we should all expect better.
Whether you agree with the call or not that play immediately changed the game. WVU might have rallied back from 8 down regardless but that play was a catalyst that led a 6-0 run in 29 seconds and made it a 3 point game. How any team benefits from fouling a player is beyond me.
And yes I’m guilty of talking about the refs and it’s apart of the game. Much like talking about our players, our coach, plays in the game there is a place to judge whether they made the right judgement call. I understand your point that we as fans shouldn’t complain about it, in the heat of the moment it’s hard not to react to the situation as your seeing it.
-
I dunno. I spent the whole game covering my kids ears last season. I lost my voice yelling at the one game I was at this season. It’s not, quiet, but it could be more raucous. Apathy seems to be an issue. That and its $300-800 per seat to sit in the first 10 rows.
Cell phone signals should be scrambled at the game to keep focus on the game. Too much texting instead of watching the game. Gotta prove how cool you are by texting everyone you know from the game, instead of cheering your head off! I hope this trend reverses soon. I’m sick of ipads instead of climbing trees, video games instead of playing outdoors, TV instead of books…
