I know we weren’t in on him anymore, but JaQuan Lyle committed to Oregon. I was sorry to hear we weren’t interested in him anymore, but I’m glad he’s out of the Big 12. Didn’t want that slight to come back & bite us down the road.

I believe my expectations are probably too high, but I have the Big 12 going 15-7 in the tournament this year. I hope the conference proves its toughness over the next few weeks.

I believe Lyle has off-the-court issues that make him a liability. There is doubt that he will even be eligible to play next season and he might end up in a Division II school or JuCo. If Embiid leaves (most likely scenario) and we get Turner, then it would be the top class in the country. There are a number of 2015 guards coming up that I am sure Coach Self would rather have than Lyle. If he would be a top 5 recruit I can see making the effort, but not for a player ranked outside the top 20 (Scout - 21, ESP - 41, Composite - 22); at one time he was ranked as high as 8 but his stock has gradually gone down. Coaches have their hand full as it is and don’t need a high maintenance player.
Look at Anrio Adams, a player with a lot of potential. While at KU he was kept somewhat under control, but his mouth got him in trouble with KU and left for Ohio and now he is playing for Junior College in Texas.

@DinarHawk I have four brackets and my fourth was a mad upset bracket. I had Dayton over OSU. OSU and Thad Matta are disappointing. They are on Turner’s list too. If Embiid stays, I hope that Turner goes to SMU.
Don’t look now but there’s a game with Harvard and Cincy too.
Good grief what did Tad Boyle do to prepare CU? This is not the same CU team. But it goes to show how soft the Pac12 really is and it could be a bit of an indicator of other Pac12 teams too.
