Here's a 2,000 piece puzzle we worked on this week. It is called Radiant Rainbow Mandalas. It was a tantalizing array of colors.
What Is the Purpose of a Mandala?
Ever since their creation, mandalas were used as symbols for meditation, concentration, protection, a personal maturity process, and healing. Different religions, philosophies, and cultures, all use different techniques of mediation when using mandalas.
Using a mandala can help you to find yourself, or the path you wish to travel.
Spending time cultivating harmony and peace within your heart. From this, you can find gentle words and thoughts that can show you new paths or directions. If you are passionate about coloring and want to try something different, try to color a mandala and find the purpose of a mandala for yourself. Have a look at the benefits of coloring a mandala. They are widely available for about any design you could imagine.

From the archives: Freeze 2021. Where we didn't have power for 7 days and then when we got hooked up, the transformer blew out and we had to go another day before they were back to replace it. We kept our frozen foods outside in a cooler. It was below freezing for an ungodly 5 straight days. I would rather have 100 degrees than be that cold ever again. And mind you, I was born in South Dakota, lived in Bloomington, MN growing up and then down to Leavenworth. When Mike and I moved it was because we just didn't want to go through another winter. I flew down to Austin for an interview with an attorney (who was a cousin of my present boss) the first of November. We were packed up and moved in on November 29th. Leaving Leavenworth was the other reason. Just nothing happening in 1979 for either of us.

Today I had blood work done in Marble Falls and stopped at The Bluebonnet Cafe for breakfast. Then I went and took a look at this beauty! After seeing the full size Bronco (gas guzzler at 18 mpg) that I could hardly get in because it was so high off the ground and it was just too big for me, I softened up to the Bronco Sport Outer Banks model (27 mpg). They are a much quieter drive than the full sized one. I can almost hear the sound of waves crashing along the beach because I will go if I have a reliable vehicle.

The gentleman who lived across the street from me passed away earlier this year and his wife was here a couple of weeks ago getting the 3 story house ready to sell. The for sale sign went up last weekend. Being nosy, I looked it up online and it is for sale for $750,000. Couple of the pictures were actually great at showing what my cove looks like.

So me and my zero gardening skills started growing lemon cucumbers in some pots a few weeks back (not from seed).
Other than the initial powdery mildew that attacked them pretty quickly, they seem to be growing and making some flowers.
I put a stake with each to help them grow up (ha), but that doesn't seem to be working!
Any advice on how to support the growth and cucumbers?

@rockchalkjayhawk We always planted our climbers around the edge of the garden with a wire fence, for it to climb on. Picked many a cucumber and cantelope that way. Prop up some wire mesh behind them?

Oddly the outdoor stores didn’t have any! I’ll have to head over to the hardware store.
