@RockChalkinTexas lets do it the next time they go for that tourney!
-
Please. Didn’t mean to be rude.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Bragg is really struggling, fouled out too
-
Not to worry about Bragg. He was destined to suck for half a season, while he figures out the new body he is inhabiting.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Mason rock solid. Can score at will. Slashing, coast to coast and from either side.
-
Studbosses: Svi, Mason, Graham, Josh Good: Udoka, Lucas, Mitch, Vick WOOF CITY EXPRESS: Bragg
-
@jaybate-1.0 Josh Jackson had some sweet moves and ltft killed a guy. Doke dunked a bunch. Svi great game! DG hitting
-
I pulled up the box.
Landen got 4 OR and 3 DR in 16 minutes; that’s good.
-
I love Shawn vandiver
-
Doke only had three fouls in 16 minutes, and he grabbed 7 reebs; that’s good.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Udoka and Josh were excellent. Udoka was on the receiving end of I think 5 alley oops. Both ultra aggressive but composed. Not like freshmen. The guard play from Frank and Devonte settled into commanding the game. Svi and Devonte jumped passing lanes and looked like the leash is off there. Svi participated in several areas and looked great. Vick got the start and played well but was quiet. Landen played more physically and did what was needed. Carlton looked lost and forced some passes. Lightfoot in limited minutes continued to look like a future gem. Coleby still looks flat footed but was a little more mobile and scored in mop up minutes
-
Thanks. Your new nickname is “THE CONDENSER”!!!

I was close to putting Udoka in the studboss category. Had good and bad moments. You can tell he really only knows how to dunk right now, but maybe that’s enough for him this year.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Vick started over Bragg. Bill went small.
-
Svi’s line score finally looks like it was supposed to the last two seasons. Big numbers per minute, no fouls and only 1 TO.
Go, Svi, go!!!
-
@BShark block and run the floor, rebound, good enough
-
Frank’s line looks very solid

He looked really damn good.
-
KU looked a lot better tonight with a lot of rust knocked off. Also like Self giving IU and Duke something to prepare or with two different starting line ups.
-
This is going to be a tough team to shorten the rotation on. I hope Lightfoot makes the cut.
-
So glad to hear it. Thx.
-
So I still haven’t seen Lightfoot. What does he bring as a big?

I hope he plays enough to foul out of every game honestly. Just give him as many minutes as he can handle.
-
@jaybate-1.0 dirty work! He killed a guy

Mitch is def ahead of Coleby right now.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Frank was solid too for sure. Lots to like about this game all around. Only rotation guy struggling was Carlton and he still grabbed a couple boards and scored. Unfortunately with this depth it might mean an easy doghouse for Self to slide Carlton into. But his sideline body language was still good cheering on the walk ons
-
Oooh, we can always use another meany
-
@jaybate-1.0 he said he wanted to bring energy like mari
-
@jaybate-1.0 he’s tough, hustles, is surprisingly mobile and has solid hops. He seems to be in the right place a lot and intuitively make the right play. He’s ripping the ball away from people too.
-
Its quite possible Bragg is already in the toughening box. Self always sticks one newbie he’s going to depend on most of the season in there first. Bragg may have been being psychologically dismantled by Self the last week or two in practices. He is brutal when its you turn in the toughening box.

Fringe top 100 ditr are the best ditr. Though Lucas was like 250+/practically unranked which is a huge testament to so many things. His work ethic, Hudy, Self’s coaching etc…
-
Ooh, Self will probably adopt him then, especially if he plays operable. Self loves the play operable second tier guys. He loves them like no others.
-
I’m sold on him sight unseen then.
-
To anyone…
When was the last time three first year big men played 9, 16, and 15 minutes without a pop tart? I can’t ever remember something like that in Self’s tenure. First year bigs like Colby (I know he was practicing last season but he’s on one wheel), Udoka and Lightfoot have done something amazing, even if its off Broadway in an exhibition.
-
Tyler may have played himself into being manager. Not much of a line score for playing against ESU.
-
Anyone,
Is Lightfoot supposed to be 4-7 kind of a FT shooter, or was he just off tonight?
-
Much, much better game all around. Yes, Bragg is struggling. It’s like his timing is off. But, he’s playing hard and he has such a great attitude that I’m sure he will be a consistent contributor by January. Great tune up for Indiana. RCJH
-
@jaybate-1.0 Josh was nasty too
-
I am really liking those 5 assists by our OAD.
That may be another first this early in the season.
-
Doke, Josh and Svi w/post game interviews.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Bragg didn’t start. Vick did
-
Coach Self just said Carlton is a really good player, he’s just in a funk. Does everyone get the one hour post-game show?
-
About LaGerrie,
Actually, that quiet line could bode well for him. He was clearly ice cold from outside, but did not let it unsettle him. 5-6 front the FT line, and 4 reebs, and ZERO turnovers in 25 minutes is the kind of performance that is going to get him some SELF trust for the Indiana game.
And wouldn’t it be great if he came out 4-4 against them Hoosiers?
-
@stoptheflop me
-
@jaybate-1.0 he’s hustle not showing in box score
-
-
@jaybate-1.0 I still think LL is a lil leaner
-
LL much better offensively
-
@jaybate-1.0 Another thing about Lightfoot… he’s in the right places on the floor, setting screens on O, filling lanes on D, but not wasting energy flying around (like Bragg is right now). Showing signs he has a high BB IQ.
Could be Bragg is just so much faster than the competition right now, but it seems like he just needs to dial it back a half notch and just use the afterburners when he needs to.
Doke… if all he does is run the floor for dunks, grab 7-8 boards and block 3-4 shots a night, I’d be thrilled. But he looks MUCH better than I expected this early.
-
I COULD SEE VICK PULLING A START VS. INDIANA, AFTER THIS PERFORMANCE.
I think Bragg could have problems with how rough Indiana will play this early in the season.
Self is probably trying to make Indiana prepare for Vick, but once Bragg has a chance to watch a few minutes and feel for what will be allowed and what will not be, then I am hoping Bragg will come in and do his thing. We are going to need four bigs even with playing a lot of 4 out.
