I’ve had some hardships over the past year and life can be a complicated mess but everyone has their ups and downs.
I got a big promotion a year ago but the benefits haven’t outweighed the negatives so I’m at a crossroads. It has brought me financial stability in these hard times though which I’m thankful for but I know I’m going to have to make a decision one way or the other at some point.
My son has become fully invested in baseball this year and the journey still continues. He went from Little League to All Stars to now travel ball and will pitch in his first 9U kid pitch game tomorrow so that’s very exciting. I’m a nervous wreck but can’t wait to see him perform. We have lived at the baseball field since April, and it’s been an honor to watch him grow as a person and player. I don’t think we’ll know what to do with ourselves when the travel season ends next month but basketball is next up for him and he’s excited for that. Hopefully this year I can get him into watching some KU games with me as he was curious at times last season.
With work - similarly I got a promotion about a year ago. Then immediately we were (are) and industry current administration is going after. Caused a ton of stress. Went to therapy to help me understand why I was hating work so much. It very much helped keep things in perspective. Just a thought if you haven’t tried it first before leaving.
Congrats on the baseball! Good luck to him pitching! I miss playing baseball at that age more than any other competitive sports I played.
My 6 year old came home singing this, which he picked up at school. I guess theres a clapping game that goes with it. I enjoyed the regional variations in the reddit thread.

I wonder if you guys have encountered any similar spoken word things (or other things) that varied greatly by region?
@DanR The LSU shirt is just an LSU Dad shirt! I can’t pick up another team to cheer for. My life is complicated enough! I did enjoy going and watching Simmons, true, but not sure I’d call me a full blown fan boy!

Like i said, Sprint has a great signal around the KC Metro area since they made sure their HQ town had great signal. Other areas, like with other providers can be hit or miss. You can go to the various web sites and they have maps of their areas of coverage including the high speed and the plain one as well.
As I understand, 90% of the people are 90% of the time within 30 miles of their home, so if you have a good home signal, chances are you will be fine the great majority of the time. I travel a fair amount so I need to have decent coverage in the areas I travel more often, T-Mobile has been expanding it coverage and it is decent most everywhere I go unless I am in the middle of a lake bed in a large military reservation on the western part of the country. You have to find what works for you and where you are. YMMV.

It might not help him top go to classes but costs the school plenty if he does not. The OAD is a joke and should be eliminated. Give the players the option to go straight to the NBA and once they do that they can never come back to college and play sports, or if the go to college they need to stay 3 years before becoming eligible for the NBA. Mnay players that have left after 3 years have been able to get their degree. Aldrich being a good example and McLemore continues to take classes and hope to graduate some day; he has turned out to be a great ambassador for KU.
@dylans We DESPERATELY need the football program to turn around. But the catch 22 is that you have to put money into facilities in order for us to do that. It is what some financial wizards call an “investment.”
I like the new lockerroom. Good start. Next, maybe a paint job in Memorial? Or a remodeling of it? A bit of an eye sore. Or, perhaps, a $20m dorm with bells and whistles like the bball team got? If in fact that was the reason we were to land players and get to a 7 or 8 win team, it would literally pay for itself.
Ya my question is seeing how good Houston really isn’t, how the hell did they shut down OU? My guess is it was a first game fluke. But the record that we let Perine set a few years ago could get broken by Mixon. The OU vs TT game was entertaining as hell tho, I rather watch that then a 10-6 game like Colorado and Stanford. The SEC is actually fun to watch the last few years now that they have offenses a few years ago it was boring as hell I remember a LSU Bama game that was hyped to hell and didn’t even get a touch down in it final was 12-6.

Multiple choice time: why didn’t he attend?
a.) Could have been sick.
b.) Could have broken up with his girl friend.
c.) Could have forgotten the appointment.
d.) Could have been studying.
e.) Could have become involved in something that requires a “no comment” as part of damage control.
f.) none of the above.
g.) all of the above.
h.) some but not all of the above.
Gosh. I’m stumped.
@globaljaybird Forgot about that play. What amazed me was he did it in an away game in an unfamiliar ballpark. He took his last look at the wall about 4 strides from it.
