16 minutes for Grimes and 25 for Och
-
Over-under on 4 TO’s for Vick next game?

Fouls played a factor, but man, Agbaji is one of our best three perimeter defenders already…

Over if he plays at least 20 minutes.

Jesse was way off. Really bad choice!

What did Jesse do?

He predicted the final score at KU 77 TCU 67 lol
-
He picked Lightfoot for player of the game

@Crimsonorblue22 Mitch hasn’t been relevant for like a month now. Surely that was a shot in the dark for fun.
-
@approxinfinity crazy huh?
-
Jaylen Fisher might have sunk some 3’s on us with the game in the balance. I like the kid, but his absence certainly helped us.
-
Yeah those 10 steals were fantastic. Thats probably double our season average.
-
The Iowa State game was 24 TOs to Iowa State’s 12. This game was 12 TO’s to TCU’s 20.
-
Ochai was a huge help there! Didn’t we talk about pressuring them?
-
Dumb question, who is Steven Davis?
-
The David McCormack era has begun!

Agbaji finishing on the floor over Grimes in his first game…WOW!
Kid can defend, Grimes can’t.
Didn’t say Agbaji was bad or Grimes was good, just surprised Agbaji actually finished because I definitely wasn’t expecting him to look as good as he did tonight.

I think that’s about as good as we are capable of playing at this point, shooting 23% from 3 is really what kept TCU in it. The 12 turnovers were a nice improvement, Vick had half them. I’m not sure if he is just trying too hard or what but he’s been icey from distance and a turnover machine here lately. If he didnt have the high TO numbers he had a solid floor game. I think you’re gonna start seeing the bench get smaller here with Ochai, Mitch and KJ getting most of the bench minutes. Moore has really started to play his way out and I’d be shock if does not only play sparingly but transfer at the end of the season. I’m a little disappointed that David wasn’t given any more minutes but I’m not at practice to decide such things.

What do you think the ceiling for this team is by tournament time?
-
@approxinfinity at this point I’d say we be lucky to go past the sweet 16. A lot of depends on how much our guards can improve. You dont see deep runs from teams without excellent guard play. I think people forget how young we really are with Dotson, Grimes and Ochai all being freshmen while KJ, Charlie and Garrett are just sophomores. I’d like to see our post defense improve. If I was coaching on the opposite bench, I’d zone the heck outta us and feed the bigs. TCUs big didnt get anywhere near enough touches when we had no answers for him. I think this team has to find some shooters at some point as well, we seem to go on too many scoring droughts for my liking. Consistent scoring from someone other than Dedric and Vick (only guys in double figures and over half of our points tonight) is a must.

Loyola made the FF. This KU team could lose the first weekend or make the FF and I wouldn’t be super shocked. Definitely would be surprised at a FF though…
-
@kjayhawks Also I’d love to see most of this core of guards stay and develop…but it’s 2019…
-
@BShark Yep that’s the beauty of the tournament and also its dark side lol. It dont matter how many stats you look at you never can predict a guy going off for a few games and a few guys going cold. I actually think we could end up looking like a team that’s a year away from winning it. I also think a good core of guys will return, we have the possibility of only losing Vick.
-
@kjayhawks Vick has ALWAYS been a streaky shooter. Best case scenario for KU is that he gets on a hot streak in the NCAA Tournament
-
Adding ochai gives us another 3 pt shooter.
-
Ok, just done watching after work on the west coast. I’ll keep my comments simple tonight…happy we won.
— Ochai!!! Gotta wonder WTF Self was thinking sitting this kid early on in the season. He looked so smooth and calm. Keep it up!
— I continue to wonder why Vick is allowed to dribble. I cringe when he touches the ball. It rarely ends well.
— We are in for some tight conference games!

Per Scott Chasen, Dotson is getting over being sick, so that would help explain last night’s performance from him.
