Dark Money Thread
-
@BShark we might as well create a laundry list of bought pundits, and in this case acting attorney generals, that received dark money.
-
Stuff like this has been going on since the early 1900s
-
@kjayhawks do tell. I’d be interested in what you’ve got.
It is worth noting that the media landscape has changed dramatically since 1900

@approxinfinity Maybe I should restate that lol, I think stuff like that has been going on since then. I haven’t looked into in years to be honest, just the way I see it.

The world is getting darker and darker. We have a way to combat that though…
And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. John 1:5
Be the light!

I don’t like the tenor of these articles, and others I saw on this subject. I do have lots of reasons to oppose Whittaker, but this salary thing is a drama without a plot. He ran the organization and got a salary. Big deal. Yes, it has conservative donors. Believe it or not, that is legal and is not emblematic of a conspiracy to destroy Democracy.
Liberals (including me) would be marching brandishing the First Amendment if a Cabinet appointee was attacked for working for the ACLU or the Southern Poverty Law Center or Amnesty International.
-
@mayjay you want to tell me what exactly this organization does? And what did Matt Whitaker do for them? Surely you don’t think this is any way, shape or form equivalent to working for the ACLU.
I don’t agree with your assessment.

@approxinfinity If you read what I actually wrote, I’m not addressing what he did (founder and sole employee, apparently). I was addressing the type of structure, not the activities, and the comments that seem to find it nefarious that the conservative donors are not disclosed. Planned Parenthood is also a dark money group.
