Darius Bazley Skipping College

Won’t be going to Syracuse, but the G League instead.

This could happen more and more. The only thing that can really screw colleges is that these kids’ commitments can mess with recruiting. You think you have a position wrapped up and then you dont.
-
@BigBad Same as it used to be pre-OAD.
@bshark Why do you think he went to the G league? Couldn’t he make way more money in Europe?
-
@dylans He actually outlines his thought process in that article.
-
@BShark Ha I didn’t even notice the link.
-
Wow, the G league is garbage. I hope he gets the development expected, cause the environment and pay will both suck way worse than going to many colleges (pre-FBI).
It’s kinda like pre-season NFL, if offered tickets I’d want to know how much you’re paying me to sit thru that junk.
-
I keep saying that the NBA is going to move more towards its own development model mimicking the European system we see in soccer. Bazley isn’t opening the floodgates here, but this is going to become an option. It’s been in the pipeline for a while now and will just continue to expand.

What? How can a kid actually NOT go to college? How can a kid actually make a choice different than college? Here I thought these kids were indentured servants, forced to go to college by the evil NCAA?
I’m stumped.
-
More importantly, what will Bilas have to say now that his narrative is toast?
-
It’s the G league that’s puzzling to me, not skipping college. At least he knows what he wants. Most 17 year olds don’t.
