2026 Transfer Portal Chaos/Madness Thread

Getting this one going for when it's needed.
The NCAA approved another change to the Basketball transfer window. The madness is only 15 days now and starts the day after the Championship game.
The transfer windows in basketball will now open for a 15-day period the day after each sport's championship game.The changes are effective immediately, meaning this spring the basketball window will be open April 7-21 for men. Previously, the window was open for 30 days and began after the second round of the men's and women's NCAA tournaments.
This one impacting coaching changes
Following a head coaching change, a 15-day period will open five days after the new coach is hired. If no new coach is announced within 30 days and the transfer window has already closed, a 15-day window will open on the 31st day for players from that school.

a little more sensible. Football needs the same. Seeing participants in the playoff hit the portal while team still playing is crazy. I don't blame the players. They need to transfer before school is in session for 2nd semester. I see tweets saying make the Rose bowl the national championship game. Problem solved.

It mostly just means more tampering, but it's a good change for sure.

That 15 day window will be pins and needles. It's going to the worst one yet.

I’m sure we won’t even try but a big one just entered the portal from the mid major market. Soph wing/forward Darin Smith Jr of Central Connecticut enters after being NEC POY and averaging 20.7 ppg. Had a 40 pt game this yr. Averaged 18 against 3 power teams this yr.

Purdue Fort Wayne Jr leading scorer Corey Hadnot in the portal. Averaged 20ppg on 52% shooting. Should be one that gets a lot of looks for his defense too

I really like Johnson for McNeese. He can really score, defend, and rebound. He’s a strong FT shooter on high volume so you assume the perimeter shot will eventually get there. And he’s just a RS Freshman

Keanu Dawes in from Utah. Would be an ideal "3rd big". Played well against KU. Hopefully Houston isn't his destination if we don't pursue

Dra Gibbs Lawhorn in from UNLV. Started at Illinois. Won't be too many better guards than him in the portal. 41% from 3 on 244 attempts.
