@globaljaybird tough day!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Yeah but that was SO COOL to get the standing O then homer.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Esky just flashed the GOLD defense again & kept the go ahead run from scoring.
-
And now the Standing O for LoCain … goose bumps today Just like Henessey VS - very special.
-
@globaljaybird dang I’m so sad
-
DR V just got his Standing O & Ned removes all 4 starters with him at the same time. Guys saying goodbyes in dugout now & very few dry eyes. Misty to say the least. Score no longer matters but Az now up 6-2
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Sign said “Don’t cry cause it’s over, Smile cause it was happened.” And damn it was GOOD !
-
Gotta sign off here in the 9th. Has been bittersweet but they’ll be back strong in 2018. Hope we’re all there for Boulevard Live March 29th 2018 after KC defeats Chicago for their first win of the season.
-
EXTRA COOL video on the scoreboard while the players have returned to the field for one more curtain call. Hoz speaks with Joel & voices crack.
"Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened ". GN

I am not really a big baseball fan but watched the entire game just to see the player take the field at the end of the game one last time.
This was a group of very special players that made baseball fashionable in KC once more. I hope the next iteration brings more of the same; seem like there are some really good prospects already.

Ya know, the teams that were perennial runners up to the Yankees in the 70’s were PDG, but this group simply blossomed at the right time together. Holland, Duffy, Hererra, Salvy, Gordon… there were so many at just the right time. These past 4-5 seasons have really been the most talented , if not the most successful teams in KC Royals history. I’m thrilled we lived long enough to see it happen. The ghost of Don Denkinger has at long last been been exorcised.
-
Well I’m worried the royals will be headed back to the early 00’s royals that were terrible. Oh well I guess it was nice to win 80 plus games for five straight years to go with two pennants and a World Series win.

As being a Royals fan goes it was pretty great.
-
It has been a special run. They gave us memories that will be with us for life! Hear hear to the Silver Age of Royals baseball… possibly passing into legend before our eyes.
-
It was an awesome run that probably can’t be duplicated. This was the right group of players at the right time. It was a perfect storm.
The Royals have to rebuild now, but if they are smart with their draft picks and international signings, they could be right back in the hunt in a few years.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I really think that makes you a fan bro, at least to me.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Here are some Royals coaching changes for 2018. I’m surprised to say the least.

PS: IMO they may also be getting Jamie Quirk ready to succeed Ned when Yost decides to hang it up.
-
@bskeet You just nailed it. This franchise won more games than the year before every consecutive year from 2010-2015. That is something no other team had done in 90 years. One year a winning record, next a pennant, & the next a World Series Championship. Yep, pretty special.
-
@JayHawkFanToo I also thought it was quite fitting for Zack G to have to watch the final home game for these WS Champs from the opposing dugout. After all, he was the d*ck that demanded the trade that brought Esky & LoCain from Milwaukee to KC.
Classiest way in the world to tell him “up yours” Thanks Zack.

@globaljaybird heard a rumor that Dayton might be going to Atlanta
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Saw this too. Seems like valid sources. Worrisome.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Yeah, it’s a rumor. He may very well be the most competent & ethical executive in all professional sports. If the Glass family lets him get away, they simply have NO SHAME .
-
@BShark There’s a natural connection as he worked for Scheurholtz for abt 10 years, but Glass has lotsa moola to keep him here. I think Dayton likes being in the Midwest long as the $$$ is in da ballpark …
Yeah KC rush hour can be a challenge at times, but Atlanta is simply a rat race deluxe …
