Twins vs Royals
-
@mayjay ah gosh golly gee
-
@globaljaybird It still boggles my mind that LoCain isn’t in the top 15 vote getters for outfielders. Next to maybe Trout, he has to be the best CF’er in the AL.
-
Well this don’t appear to be the same team that played earlier today. Top of the 6th with 1 out it’s Twins 6-2
-
Ned you’re a little late with the hook on Hammel.
-
@brooksmd 9 more outs to score 2 more runs at home - I like our chances.
-
My Nats’ historically bad bullpen choked up another loss. Down 1-0, first pitch by Sammy Solis in the 9th to a guy on his MLB debut… Dinger. Then our amazing offense, predictably, scores one in the bottom, down 2-1, bases loaded with 2 outs, Dusty decides it’s our turn to have a guy on his MLB debut step up to the plate (?!?) And the kid works to a full count, then gets a pitch outside, but Yadier Molina stands up and pumps his fist before the ump makes the call and the ump calls it Strike 3! What a crock!
-
@globaljaybird Herrera not the same
-
Once again a leadoff walk starts the mess. Like I used to tell my boys they had to be home by midnight cause nothing good ever happens after midnight. Well nothing good ever happens when you walk the leadoff hitter in the last inning.
-
Good thing these guys don’t have to play a day time DH every Sunday like real ball players used to.
-
GN guys- Well, don’t look so good here in the 9th so better check in for da night to make church in the am. Keeping priorities is important. Worst we do is split for the day so I’m good wit that. If we dont’ connect, I hope you all have a very wonderful & joyous holiday weekend & days ahead… Don’t know about anyone else but I’m DAMN PROUD to be an American regardless of what the rest of the world thinks. Fly Old Glory high & proud if ya can every chance you have. It’s important for our nations future. God Bless !!
-
@globaljaybird How’s those chances now with 3 outs to go, trailing by 5 and Moss, Esky and Butera due up?
-
@brooksmd In a word - slim.

Geez, Sano has 23 rbi’s against the Royals just this year. That’s almost half of his total of 55. Maybe walking him back in the 5th with 2 on would’ve been a better idea vs letting him park one in deep LC. I mean Cain took 2 steps, stopped and watched it.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Not at all. Like he was in 2012 & 13. – gopher ball itis. I think Moore will look hard at moving him while the market is still good in the next couple of weeks. Could be a mistake, but this is still most likely a rebuild process instead of a last hurrah. Would like to be wrong, but just my gut instinct.
-
Well boys and girl, see ya all tmrw, 1:15 when the boys put another series win in the books. ttfn
-
Its 1:15 & top of the 1st at Kauffman. Sure do hope Woods can hold em respectable today. Cleveland already up 4-0 on Detroit.
-
@globaljaybird Love the 4th uni’s. Especially the stockings on those wearing pants as they should be worn. Call me old school.
-
@brooksmd I mean old school, I like them too!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 @brooksmd How bout that Soler punch out at 3rd? I’ll take it.
-
@globaljaybird I wasn’t sure about him in left
-
@globaljaybird Ned really shook up order today. Whit (2nd), Boni (RF), Hoz (dh), Salvy , Soler (lf), Torres (3rd), Moss (1st), Esky (ss) and Gordo (cf).
-
Keep’in da line movin’. Just gotta love Whit hustle and Hoz beating the shift.
-
3-0 is a great start but gotta have more vs these guys. Sano & Dozier can wear us out.
-
Here’s a thought. Don’t give Sano any good pitches.
-
@brooksmd Sparky Anderson used to walk George Brett every time he came up with runners on-especially when his Tigers had a lead. He refused to let Brett beat him after he did it so many occasions. Your comment abt walking Sano reminded me of ol’ Sparky. That man was REALLY old school.
-
@brooksmd Moms baking cookies for son & wife on the way from KC & Rascal just took the batter bowl outta the open dishwasher & trotted in front of the Royals game-he likes baseball too…
-
Good ol Rascal. Bet he was right proud of himself.
-
Dang, the past few games, except last nite, are shades of '14 an '15. Love it when just making contact and not tryin to kill everything.
-
Hoz needs to plate 2.
-
CHICKEN!!!
-
@brooksmd Hope Ned doesn’t let Woods flirt with that 5-0 lead now. We gotta knock these guys outta the way for 2nd & keep the heat on them Wahoos. Maybe time for da hook !
-
Alright Tabasco, wrap this up 3 up and down.
-
Big weekend for our boys. Puts us only a half game out of the wildcard. 23 games until the trade deadline and a TOUGH 23 game stretch at that. Red Sox and Dodgers both away.
To be honest, it has been fun. But if we don’t keep the division within 5 games and the wildcard within 3, it will be time to sell off pitching. Vargas will be too much of a haul to pass up. Minor is as good as gone.
On the bright side, we would have Karns and Duffy back so we wouldn’t be completely giving up. But you can’t let the deadline go by without taking Vargas offers. He could be worth 3 very good prospects.
-
Daytons biggest mistake as a GM was letting Ervin Santana walk. We keep him and we probably don’t trade for Cueto. So we still have Finny for our 5th starter. So we also still have Dyson. We wouldn’t have signed Ian Kennedy either, so we would have been able to afford Zobrist probably. I think we wouldn’t have signed Moss so we would have another $12m to play with.
Starting rotation would be:
- Duffy
- Vargy
- Santana
- Hammel
- Finny
Hard to believe we let him walk for so cheap.
