Maryland president: Would expect shutdown of UNC over academic allegations
Two differnt viewpoints.
Maryland president Wallace Loh says he would expect North Carolina to get the “death penalty” over the academic allegations that have hung over the athletic program since 2010.
“As president, I sit over a number of dormant volcanoes,” Loh said during a University of Maryland senate meeting Thursday, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. "One of them is an athletic scandal. It blows up, it blows up the university, its reputation, it blows up the president.
Williams said the length of the investigation in some ways has been a punishment for his program.

@dylans They need to drop the hammer. If they let academic fraud slide than it truly isn’t about academics anymore. Why would any major program even make their players take real classes anymore if the result of this case is absolutely nothing.

What would be the point of the NCAA clearinghouse too? I mean the NCAA is so hypocritical I just don’t understand it.
Well, besides the making a crap ton of money and being able to dictate the sports.

They weren’t sure about Diallos grades clear back to middle school so he missed the first semester.
UNC’s players committed academic fraud and were caught red handed. Here it is years later and still no penalty. They should have been banned from the NCAA tournament the last two years as it is for student athletes in good standing. Instead they are in the title game.
I really hope a good journalist gives the NCAA two black eyes for this one.
