KUBUCKETS RULES!!!!
-
Sorry… I am guilty as charged!
I’ll try to clean up my act and be more accommodating, and I can at least use better language… like saying @&#$% instead of &%$@!
-
And if I have stepped on someone’s toes-I am sorry. Just let me know and I will be happy to go on record.

Kong, come back!

I thought I was being nice? Guess not?
-
I agree with you 100% and I apologize if inadvertently I crossed the line. Sometimes I do miss having the “ignore” option.
Happy holidays as we approach 10,000 members; I see where KUBUCKETS threads now show at the top of search engines results.
-
@JayHawkFanToo 10,000 members… ha… the Russian spambots have won… one of these days I’ll clean it up… until then, c’est la vie. Although I’ve seen a decent number of legit new faces recently, so I’ll take a 500 to 1 ratio of mute spambots to passionate KU fans any day.
Thanks man. Just be kind, rewind.
-
Well…at least we are the kings of the doily icons.

@approxinfinity Great time for that friendly reminder as some of us (likely me & brooks LOL) have been known to partake an indulgence of the spirits on more than one occasion, and Christmas & New Years are always perfectly great occasions !! Thanks for doing what it takes to keep this site up for us & to heck with political correctness-Merry Christmas to all you rats here at kubuckets !!

@globaljaybird back atcha gb.

@globaljaybird (beer) hiccup (beer)
@approxinfinity How you been? Haven’t heard much from you. Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. And again, thanks for a great place to hang and visit with friends.
-
This site is the BEST!!! Especially while waiting 7 days between games!
-
@brooksmd thanks man. been good; busy. following the threads, enjoying this year’s ride. excited about the current team. as excited as 2007, though not as confident as 2008 / 2011. That being said, it is starting to sink in that basketball and other fixtures from my childhood are in fact things in great flux when seen with a wider lens, and every season should be enjoyed as it’s own entity, and not just as a copy or another season, say imperfect copies of the 2008 season. I think I’m enjoying this season more than any season prior. Thanks for the well wishes, Merry Christmas to you and yours as well!
-
@approxinfinity - Well said my friend!
I think most of the regulars on here are passionate KU fans, and sometimes passion breeds.
Oh yeah - it breeds those things that aren’t good for us. Jealousy, anger, overt competitiveness and whatever the word is for things that make us act stupid and say mean things.
I know for sure that I’ve been guilty of running my mouth (or fingers!) when I shouldn’t. Why do we always assume that “we’re” right and the other guy is an idiot?
Anyway, we all know how much time and effort you have put into this site and we’re very thankful for that! Truth be told, kubuckets is one of the things that I really look forward to every day. Thanks for the “kinder/gentler” reminder.
Merry Christmas and Thanks again!
-
@approxinfinity To the founder of the feast! Thank you and Happy Holidays. KUBUCKETS has been a great escape for me from the daily grind and I love reading all of the comments from the amazing basketball minds on this site. Thanks for putting it together.
Rock Chalk Jayhawk.

To jump on what Joe says: KU Buckets is an oasis in the muck of internet fandom. Thanks goodness the kids haven’t discovered this place, yet, and adults rule!

Merry Xmas, everyone. As I luxuriate in the fact that I’ve won 1 Fantasy Football title last week, and am in the championship game in two other leagues, not only are my FF teams a notch above, so is the team that I love and passionately root for. When all else fails, love truly is the answer. We ALL LOVE KU. They are like our kids. Sometimes, if someone posts something negative, it is like they are insulting one of our children. On the other hand, my parents NEVER had any problem correcting me, cajoling, threatening, and whacking me upside the head when they felt I deserved it. And my parents love(d) me as deeply as a mother and father could love their son. Two different approaches - both approaches love their team.
In my perspective, I’m really lucky to be a KU fan. Can you imagine what it must be like for a Misery BB fan right now? I used to get trolled by several brain dead Moo monkeys for years - now they’re no where to be found. I remember when we didn’t know if we’d make the tournament- I remember when Ted let them lose to the dreaded WSU Shlockers …we are a world class basketball franchise. Bigger than Elvis …bigger than the Beatles…we have 5 hungry guys with screaming steel and sex appeal. All the ladies call us “big’n” - all the men call us “SIR”. This team is going to shock the pundits this year, so let’s enjoy the ride…
-
@KUSTEVE Congrats on your FF Title. Those can be hard to come by. “Lucky to be a KU fan” = Priceless!
-
All of ya’lls comments would be more meaningful if I hadn’t quit on the &((()&^#$^$^^@_$&^^@&&#_$$*#&@& Jayhawks after the Kentucky game. And I’m serious, I quit, I’m not here. I don’t care anymore. (beat Lafayette)

@wissoxfan83 Welcome back !!
-
@brooksmd Hiccup & snore…
-
Dang, its hard getting this bushy tail properly tucked between my legs, but I will do it for you and The Legacy and Santa.
-
@jaybate-1.0 thanks man. Alles in Ordnung! And as we all know… Arbeit spart wer Ordnung wahrt.
If you guys need to channel a little negative passion constructively, please join me in turning on Duke and screaming at the TV when Jahlil Okafor hooks someone (around 5 times a game) to score, or takes 2 steps, stops at the post, does 3 pump fakes and then gets “fouled” while busting someone’s lip open, or when Tyus Jones flails at half court when someone touches him and they get called for a flagrant one… I’m so glad those guys aren’t Jayhawks… They were born to be Dukies.
I felt bad for Kevin Ollie’s boys. They got the classic Duke experience tonight.
-
@nuleafjhawk @joeloveshawks @KUSTEVE Happy Holidays to you guys as well!
-
Ugh, I could not bring myself to watch Nike-Duke Coach Consonants and his apparently stacked band of Blue Cheap Shotters.
His post game little Jack Horner, what a good boy am I interviews in which he tries to be “Knute Rockne” of basketball seem disingenuous to the point of insult, given the tactics on the floor, and in recruiting that he appears to be using.
Next!
-
@jaybate-1.0 I only watched to pay close attention to Boatrwight-Man what a player !! Drives the lane & last little step takes the outward angle protecting the rock with the body & BINGO…draws the foul. Ice water in the veins schootin’ da 3. Kid can do it all at the D 1 level. Konsonants had no answer for him whatsoever. And frankly the only answer I have for Konsonants is changing his ugly rat face to a better looking channel. Like the test pattern !!
-
@globaljaybird just tell us how you really feel!! Ha ha!!!
-
@globaljaybird is the king of candor and gentleness/generosity of spirit–probably the rarest combinations of virtue anyone can attain. He is among those I have to look in the mirror each day, regarding my writing here, and query the reflection in the shaving mirror that is so much older than I feel myself to be, and say: did I do The Legacy justice, or not?
-
@jaybate-1.0 BRB. Think my hip waders are still out in the garage.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Was not stated so mildly was it? I somewhat feel like jb, he (Konsonants) has an obviously patronizing lack of humility. Maybe he picked that up from Coach Knight. But Bob was enjoyable in an interview & always had much more humor to his replies. Kinda like a Bill Engval “here’s your sign” answer with adequate explanation for the feeble minded reporter that usually had it coming.
-
@jaybate-1.0 Thank you for the kind words. Can’t claim truth that has always been the case before the odometer rolled over a few times. We learn as we go & hopefully are better people because of, or in some instances, even in spite of it all. Merry Christmas @jaybate 1.0. Whomever your Saviour, may he joyfully lift your spirit and soul.
