KU ROSTER 2026-27

@DCHawker Did Hill not start for VCU? I see that he led them in scoring and was third on the team in minutes this past season.
-
@Jayhawk_69 He played starter minutes, but came off the bench. Remarkable that VCU can field 5 starters and have him coming off the bench, but apparently KU is incapable of have bench players who are capable of consistently contributing. Hill also linked to Tennessee and UK...
-
My guess is VCU does not buy into the traditional "start your 5 best players" model and instead thinks they have a psychological advantage in bringing their best scorer off the bench. Whatever the case, him being the 6th man for VCU is just a technicality and isn't something we should worry about

Love this. Rock Chalk.
-
@Jayhawk_69 That may be, but he was still a 25 minutes per game guy for a non-P5 team. Scored about the same PPG as Council and Dawson. So, do we really think that 15 ppg in the A10 is going to translate in similar production in the B12? We've seen that movie. The non-P5 guys that are able to produce in stepped up competition are those few who were the best players in their league. Think Stirtz for Drake or Lendeborg for UAB. Not low to mid-teens scorers against lesser competition....
-
I would not expect Hill to average 15ppg in the Big 12 if he transferred here. I would expect a fairly efficient 10ppg, floor spacing, solid defense, and utility as a secondary ball-handler out of him.
-
I think he can definitely avg 15 ppg here or more but im bullish on his potential

Seems reasonable - but we would still need to find ~65 pts elsewhere...which means 2 or 3 more double digit scorers, apart from rebounding and rim protection.

VCU had a better guard room than us last year. KU had the best individual player but he was out half the time and our back end was terrible.
-
So how come I keep seeing reports that both Paul and Kohl are back? I realize now the meme was not true at the time and there were typos in it like RRview, but the fact that both are said to be coming back is what I was excited about.
-
I think Kohl posted he was back. Paul i haven't heard about for sure. not sure there's official word yet.
I'd like to see them both return. -
Keanu Dawes on his way to KU now for a visit. Big news!

I wish they would ban inter conference transfers. Weird to have a former opponent on the roster.

Not a fan either especially when it happens the other way around but since nobody (NCAA) seems to care anymore about anything I stopped losing sleep over it. I will admit if Flory ended up at Duke or Tech as reported i was going to blow a gasket.
