Wagner game

  • I am surprised to see no one made a thread for our Wagner game. I decided to make one myself. Here are some of my thoughts.

    1. Lots of tackles for loss = good sign
    2. Winning big despite having 2 turnovers and forcing 0 is a good sign
    3. Marshall is better than Ballard
    4. Daniels looks great overall but he needs to do a better job taking what the defense gives him
    5. I don’t think we are quite ready for misery. They are more athletic than we are, meaning our margin of error isn’t all that big, and we have a tenency to shoot ourselves in the foot a bit too much.

  • @Jhawk69 @Texas-Hawk-10 made a game thread it’s just on BB category. We must win the turnover battle next week or we have zero chance of winning. The Big 12 got their butts handed to them this week in any major match up. A good measuring stick game is Mizzou. Most places don’t have them finishing better than 10th in the SEC a loss doesn’t bode well for the B12.

  • I don’t understand why fans on this site aren’t posting about this year’s football team. I suspect our regular posters from years past have found a different site to engage during our games.

  • @Jhawk69 I’ll take some crap for this, but Marshall may be better than Daniels. The second he stepped on the field he looked like a leader. Looked like he knew what he was doing. He was fast, made good decisions. I hope the coaches saw what I saw.

  • @stoptheflop I love fb. I think we have a lot of just basketball guys.

  • @kjayhawks the Mizzou game will be won or lost between the ears. We’ve had the mindset for a long time that we’re either really bad, meh or just ok. Mizzou (pains me to say this) has been pretty damn good for a while now. So if we can put the past to bed and concentrate on right now, we’ll be fine.

I for sure am a KU basketball guy, but I’m now pretty excited to watch KU football games in recent years. It sure helps my interest level when they don’t lose every game!

But I’m not much of a game thread guy for either sport.

I did pony up for ESPN select last night to watch.

We dominated with our defense! That was nice to see. I didn’t look at the stats, but on the surface our running game didn’t seem ideal?

I’m very happy we won, but would have bet the house we wouldn’t cover the huge spread.

  • We did put the reserves in the 3rd quarter

  • I’m really excited about the future for our football. I will say right off the bat so others don’t have to bring it up, yes I realize we not getting much if anything from this game last night- -well other then reps but we need to look at it this way - --we are now two and zero on the year Every win we get- - - -put that with our new stadium showing how much we want to invest , the more we are on TV , there is no way those things can be looked at but positive for us

you can already see it in the works- -we are getting bettr talent, better recruiting/recruit’s – --we are getting better recruits more interest , Coaching is solid-- -now getting more depth at multiple positions- think we are set in the QB room- running back is deep , I think Isiah is going to be really special before it’s all said and done

  • We are marked safe from starting a promising season 1-5 like last season. Little bits here on JD last season vs this season. Last year JD didn’t throw for more than 200 yards til week 6 @ASU and only had 3 games with 250 plus yards thru the air. He had 280 yards last night and his 7 touchdowns are already half of what he had the entire season last year. I’d like to see him start running more and using the option has the competition gets tougher. What a story it would be for this young man to get a redemption story that mirrors that of Jason Bean in 2023.

  • OL is a real concern at this point. Interested to see how they hold up against better comp.
