2024 MLB Season
-
Are they still called the Los Angeles Angels at Anaheim? Bit of a mouthful.
-
Lugo was going strong but got in trouble in the 5th
Hope they can advance today
-
Let’s go Royals
ALDS
-
Three teams from AL Central in ALDS
-
Congratulations to KC for winning their wildcard— HUGE WIN for them. This is all I can say on baseball, and the upcoming series between NY & KC , because no matte what I say or how I say it o try and word it not being or trying to be disrespectful , there are people here that will say well Yankees trying to buy another world series.& that I’m just trying to rub it in and being rude sooo - - -
The only thing that I could say in response to that is you will never convince me that IF - - -IF - -IF kc DID live in a market as big as NY’s if they DID HAVE the kind of money for pay that NY has - -you can take it to the Bank that KC would do the identical same thing as your other big/huge markets do - -they would be spending just as much money on the Juan Soto’s -Aaron Judge and other big time players - no different that NY and Dodgers and others our doing now. Finally again GREAT WIN -GREAT SERIES for Kc should be another very entertaining series between the two — -GOOD luck , see how it turns out - that’s all my friends – ok, everyone go ahead and yell and unload I’m a big boy I can take it
-
@AsadZ Now I know why the Sox lost so many games! ALC is a juggarnaut! What’s funny is the Royals and Tigers probably don’t make the playoffs if the Sox had offered up some resistance and won a few games against both of those teams.
-
@jayballer67 Nah, no yelling. But your statement [that IF the Royal had the same market as NYY (which really means equal revenue resources) they also would spend heavily] makes a strong case for NFL-style revenue sharing.
No one has ever said small market teams spend less because they are better people who don’t like money. Sure, they’d spend, but NYY and LAD can afford to spend far more than their competitors. They aren’t more moral either.
It is an inherent flaw in the competitive structure that makes it harder for small-market teams, which is largely why the NFL is now more popular … revenue sharing and a hard salary cap have done a lot to keep teams more equally competitive.
Except for Jacksonville, it seems.
-
Go KC beat the evil empire.

Yeah revenue sharing and the cap is a big part of what makes the NFL so great. Completely agree.
-
@BShark And Manfred allows a playoff series to start at 1:30 in the afternoon while the major market teams get prime time slots during the same week.
-
How about Erceg, the guy has been lights out.
I did not know that he started his career as third baseman for Brewers but got promoted to minors due to poor hitting.
Then he lost a year due to COVID and changed position to pitching.
-
Lets go Royals, Tigers, Padres, Mets!
-
-
Haha
-
Well since we decided to play magic fill in the blank puzzles , ya NOW I will play fill in the phrase.---- Goes a little something like this ---- I won’t tell anybody I have a Wooden - - - - . as long as the Royals don’t tell they have - - - - - - - - - - in their mouth . - now THAT’S FUNNY
-
Come on and let’s go Royals
-
@AsadZ I was 0-2 tonight. Bummer.
-
Yup, Close game
That safe call on 2B tho…
-
Replay official totally botches Chisholm call, missing two times he was actually out on the same replay. Witts last at bat shoulda been a walk, but ump punches him out. Apparently Dodgers winning a suspect replay challenge. MLB wants Judge-Ohtani so badly they’re willing to look really bad to make sure it happens.
-
@wissox wow just saw that play. Obviously bad call goes the Evil Empires way, fancy that!
-
That one play was not the reason NY won but it was a crucial play given Yanks won by one run
Royals pitching gave too many walks, uncharacteristic of them
-
@AsadZ Yes there’s many plays in any game, but when a call occurs that allows a run to score when the inning would have ended means it was really a crucial blown call.
-
Salvy’s back! Whit has disappeared. But we won! 2 games in kc! Finish it there.
-
Rodon was unhittable in first couple of innings. I was taken back by his celebratory emotions though after every strikeout.
-
-
@AsadZ a tad cocky! Looked like he was gonna cry later
-
Hosmer is really into the royals, love his enthusiasm!
-
@AsadZ he probably gets a million dollar bonus for every strikeout
-
@wissox plus LA NY market. I hope it ends up anyone but NY in the AL and San Diego in the NL.
-
Hoz and his son are throwing out the first pitch tonight.
-
For San Diego? Lol
-
Do you guys know Mahomes owns 1% of Royals? I missed that fact when it happened. 2020 I think.
-
@approxinfinity Huge Mahomes fan - yeah he is one of only a handful of pro athletes to own a portion of a pro team. Brady will join him soon with a 10% stake in the Raiders.
-
@dylans think you read same story I did about Brady, yep.
-
@approxinfinity Patrick throws out the first pitch at a Royals game about every year partially for this reason, mostly because they want to see the the star QB. His wife, Brittany is an owner of the Current (women’s soccer team) they are very invested. Built a new home (it’s not too shabby) in KC this last year too.
-
@dylans nice!
-
I always wonder how it works being a 1% owner of something. Are you allowed in on board meetings? Do you get any cash flow from it?
-
I’ll make a point of not watching any of a NY LA series and look forward to not remembering who won a month from now.

-

Don’t mention it bud, that’s what friends are for lol

What a wild WS game. Great effort for the Dodgers to piece together innings to get the job done. Sorry @jayballer67
-
-
Epic 5th inning meltdown for Bronx Bombers

Epic meltdown, just piss poor, they had the Dodgers right where they needed. As good as Aaron was in the regular Season and no one can deny that he was the best period BUT Aaron Judge is a complete failure in Post Season, I’ve seen it before
He is NOT even close salary wise in the play offs. -Then he amazes routine fly ball I mean a toddler could do better,- -then Volpe right play but short arms a throw to 3rd look like he used a 2x4 for an arm during that play. This kind of thing showed it’s ugly head before during the Season – BUT 3 fricken Tee-Ball plays in the same inning ?that play
LA scored 5 runs in the fifth not a single run was earned. When that happened Cole fell apart, lost all focus, and fricken Bone just stood there spitting seeds fricken bone head. --They had their chance LA was dead in this game before that- -showed absolute no signs of life --all you had to do was catch a routine fly dum ass lol

Royals Runner Ups:
Witt: MVP
Lugo: Cy Young
Quartaro: COY
