He looks like a work in progress… needing to improve lateral pursuit. This is where we get into possible trouble if our calling card becomes athleticism extending on both sides of the ball. On defense, if he’s the weak link we can waste the efforts of 4 athletic defenders because of one slow guy. I say that, but I’m also reading he has a good sense of the game and has good skills finishing at the rim (not just dunking). We need to see more of him to understand his potential. I don’t want to be the one prejudging his potential.

Looking to see if anyone else has heard anything or not. So was wondering about Tryan Stokes, Last I had heard that was over that Stokes was moving away or we were no longer being considered with so I said well rime to move on then.
Yet now I’m hearing we are not out of it by far according to some. Now like most here I still think he ends up else where but going to the Kentucky Board which I had heard was the likely landing spot rumor/lot of talk now he is not going to end up there and most think he is coming to KU.
Talk is Stokes Mom is NOT a Kentucky fan at all , that in fact she was at the Louisville/ KU for their exhibition game the same night Kentucky was playing, and yes I know he signed a Nike deal so people might say Nike is not going to let him play with an ADIAS School but like people said their is kids that have signed with one shoe but yet have played at another & Kentucky people saying that quite a bit.
General talk is too that even though he grew up in Louisville he is just not into them as much and talk is this is between KU/UK and many just think he not going to UK. Some UK people think that even Mark Pope and Kentucky has secretly moved on and feel like they will be fine. Like I said like people here believe he is Kentucky I too still think he is Kentucky that I reckon until the fat Lady takes center stage nd starts to sing I guess there is always that chance , we shall see.

I look at it this way… the longer it goes on, the better our chances. I say that for all the obvious reasons… he’s thought to stay in Kentucky… he’s Nike and we are Adidas… Everything seems too obvious he isn’t going to KU. In those cases, time is on our side. If the decision is so obvious, what is the delay? The delay implies to me that the decision is not so obvious!

@drgnslayr I agree but some people are saying they are still mentioning that the reason he hasn’t committed is he is using KU to drive up his anti money wise with others, at this point guess just have to wait and see, would be nice if he did but the world will still rotate if he doesn’t

I really believe this is a bidding war and not one KU is likely to win. Just which version of Uncle Phil he wants to roll with.

If Flory doesn’t improve the NIL money he’s tying up + DPs should be enough to entice Stokes. Problay need a bunch of players though, so it would be wise to not overspend on one guy unless he’s the lynchpin that makes it work.
Ideally Flory improves and Stokes signs too! In a perfect world.

They’re just trying to get an AJ Dybantsa/Flagg type of NIL deal…except he isn’t that level of prospect imo. But UK is desperate for a big time win under Pope.

Did a little more looking , pulled this from an article on the Kentucky board. Seems he missed multiple games while serving a suspension. He has while at school ha altercations with other students---- he missed team photo shoot , and hasn’t been on campus this week.

He still is all Kentucky if they still want him , doesn’t ’ phase me as I think we could very easily br better off if he does. I just think to much in question could be a big distraction might just be a cancee=rb, your right just think he is not a good fit for our team

@drgnslayr Agreed. I dunno , but just seems his whole recruitment , I just think he likes the attention and keeping things stirred up. Times like well he was going to play AAU , then he wasn’t- – - Then he decides he wants to play football , then ends up with a suspension from multiple games because of altercations with fellow students , not sure -was it football team mates or other non sport kids- --I think Norte Dame High School is his fourth school in four years, - - questionable academics
Just think he might cause distraction within the team- --might be a cancer ----question is would he be a black hole , you know what I mean ? A scenario where he gets the ball and it;s not coming back,- --Will he fit with the roster. I could easily see conflict when things not going well between him and Coach Self -I just think the more I read and hear I just really don’t think the positive out weighs the negatives.
I still think in the end it’s not going to be a concern because like I’ve read and heard he is just still using KU as a chip to get bigger NIL I’ve also heard that because of this latest episode that there may be other teams enter into the scene because KU - -and or Kentucky may back off not wanting the headache , others saying HEY w will take you —also have heard he may just go over seas go o Europe and play for a year until the NBA draft. Just don’t believe we need the problems lot of of issues, think it needs to be a pass

got a question guys. With us getting Adkins to commit for next year , did we move on and drop off Ethan Taylor, OR do we still have a shot for him OR do we still recruiting him ?
Would be solid pick up , are we still interested in him or is he still interested in us ?-- -he announced he will give his commit next Friday off CBS , so just curious if we got any shot ?-- - he listed Oregon- - - --KU- - - -Michigan State-- Oklahoma , --Indiana- -Kentucky.
In an interview he listed Oregon- —Michigan St-- -& KU as warmer in his interest.— He tok official visits , BUT did not take visit to Kentucky , I would think that climates them. He broke down what he was thinking about three schools Oregon- -KU & Michigan St.- had quite a bit of quality good things on KU— - - So anyone heard anything have we moved on/away from him since Adkins or do we still have a solid shot- -Anybody heard anything?
