Ugly game.
Heroic effort to tie the game. Truly. We should pause on that and give credit where credit is due.
Then, a Crimson & Blue gift-wrapped win for St.John's to undermine the heroic comeback. Wow.
Why on Earth Self swapped Rosario for ElMarko I can only speculate... Rosario's contributions in the comeback were undeniable.
It was a bizarre ending for a bizarre year. I'm sorry that Council and Tre weren't able to have more post-season success. I will miss them both.
Flory is really good, but should be interesting to see if he gets any bites.
DP was an interesting experiment.

Self needs to make his decision relatively quickly on his future too for recruiting purposes. We've seen how a coach choosing to retire late summer can gut a roster and set programs back.
Also, if Vaughn isn't the choice, Self needs to make the decision so KU can go out and find a coach. If KU looked outside the program instead of going with Vaughn, I would be looking at College Station and Bucky McMillan.

Riding with Elmarko and Mari over Kohl and Dawson killed any chance at this team having depth. I would get if they played great but both guys were effective about 3 outta 35 games.

Wait and see- -Tiller will transfer out and go somewhere else and instantly become some super stud. Watch whole new roster next yearI think chances pretty good that Kohl and maybe Paul too will be gone

I understand the negativity, but when we're losing by 8 points with 6 minutes left in the first half and people are saying it's over, I just log out. Now that it's over I can give a few thoughts.
The most disappointing play was the last. After a game full of challenges on every one of their shots we let a guy score at the rim who had no business scoring at the rim.
Hard to criticize a guy for scoring too soon, but I wish DP waited til the end, technically :02 seconds, to make his attempt at scoring the tying points. Gave them the time to get a shot off. We didn't handle the fouls to give very well either. Like try to steal the ball! One time White just grabbed a guy, no attempt at all to steal.
Hard to believe that in the NCAA tournament 2 guys besides DP made 1 three each.
Long wait til next season. We won it all just 4 years ago so we've got lots to be thankful for.

Some 19 to 22 year old kids didn’t play as well as we had hoped. And now I’m sure they will get trashed or possibly threatened online. Sad

That's not brighter honestly. Schneider is going to do just enough to save his job again, bring in another strong recruiting class and build expectations for next season, then significantly underachieve and do just enough to save his job again. The man has made 2 NCAA Tournament's in 11 years. Fire his ass already regardless of what ever happens in this tournament.

Pretty much the most glaring stat. We challenged them to shoot, and they made enough to win.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCES
Council -- he did what he had to in the major stats: 15 pts, 9 boards, 4 assists. but an ugly to watch 5 TOs.
Bryson -- 0 points, 5 boards. Think he'll be better in years to come? not sure what his go to way to score is yet.
Mbiya -- more boards than Flory in less than half the minutes.
Elmarko -- will be remembered for that last play
Tre -- 4 pts, 5 boards, 3 assists, 3 TOs. we needed him to score.
DP -- 21 with some i guess questionable shot selections. but somebody has to shoot!

How would we feel about this team, a front court rotation of Ejiofor, Udeh, Clemence and a backcourt with Bobby Pettiford in it?
We know what Ejiofor turned into which is why I was so frustrated losing him, but Udeh, Clemence, and Pettiford were also solid role players on teams that won at least one game in the NCAA Tournament this year.
