Football Recruiting

I think we landed 5 guys this weekend. A 2022 JuCo LB, 3 23 WR’s, and a DE. Props to the staff for nailing all these visits.
The guys we didn’t land will take more time. Calvin Clements will use all his visits. Baylor is really the only other top tier school there. Also I’m led to believe we dropped Tre Richardson. It was a now or never visit for him and he decided to take more visits. I bet he ends up at NMSU.

4/5 confirmed. Just waiting on the DE, but KU made a STRONG impression on that one. Part of it is he has a kiddo and KU has a lot to offer in terms of support. Big reason we landed Craig Young too. KU football is very family like these days. I know it’s an overused cliche but in this case it’s true. Coaches have players over to their homes all the time to hang out and wives/girlfriends can tag along. Leipold and his staff are really keen on getting to know all the players and their families personally and form that trust. It’s how we kept Kenny Logan.

Dam I was hoping for Tre, would help us on local rcruiting that we are hearing so much about how we not in a good spot with Local Coaches. -That would of been nice to be able to land this local kid , his School been crap in football for years but still like Tre hda a coupl of decent players - just wish we could of made the connection

The Richardson thing was weird. We were recruiting him as a RB and would’ve taken him as such. Then he changes his mind and wants to be a WR. Well, we already took 3 so that’s not happening. His mom was MAD. Like she left the visit without him mad.

Richardson may still come. I wouldn’t rule him out just yet.

ya I could see that about his Mom. Thing is he was a receive in HS BUt I can also see us recruiting him as a RB . Do you know had we been recruiting him as a RB from the get go ?

Then I just don’t get what the hell he was thinking. - If he knew we werre recruiting him from the start that he was being recruited as a running back. - - oh well , you never know Mom may knock some sense into him - but could be to late now.

I think we land Hamm. His position coach at Arkansas left and told him to open things up. Will be an early enrollee so will sign this week
