Third Time is the Charm ?

I know this is primarily a basketball site, but hey, there’s a space for football news so why not?
I’ve seen three different sports publications making their pre-season football picks and so far, every one has Kansas dead last in the conference (surprise!). Two of them have us predicted for 0-8 in the conference and one didn’t go as far as to guess on the wins/losses.
Are we really still that bad? I’d sure like to get back to where we’re at least bowl game eligible - is that a pipe dream?
Just interested to hear everyone’s ideas…

@nuleafjhawk the last 2 years I drank the koolaid, not doing it this year! I will watch every game and go to a few, but afraid to be hopeful.
-
personally, I suspect that the pundits are applying the same rules to football that they apply to basketball – After several years of evidence, they will assume that the past is a fair predictor of the future.
So in basketball, they say the B12 championship goes through KU until someone de-thrones us. And in football, they say the B12 cellar is occupied by KU until we prove otherwise.

I agree.
Based on what i have seen so far, the more likely number of wins is 3-4 with a ceiling of 5. KU should win 2 of the 3 non-cons and ISU and TCU are winnable since they are at home and WVU could be as well. Of course, an upset over Texas at home, on the first conference game could change the season’s dynamic, particularly if they win at WVU the week after that. KU played Texas tough at home last time around…

@JayHawkFanToo you are drinking too! Jk

Chug-a-lug!!!

@JayHawkFanToo it’s only koolaid!

I just don’t see much success from KU on the horizon right now.
They don’t have top notch speed on either side of the ball, so that pretty much means they can’t beat top level teams.
They still lack depth, so any injury could really derail the season.
I’m not very hopeful right now, but would love to be proven wrong.

It might look like kool-aid but it is really hairy buffalo, a staple during my college years…

@JayHawkFanToo eewwww! What’s that?

Here is the fancy recipe:
We normally lined a trash can with heavy duty trash bags and used the cheapest alcohol we could find.

@JayHawkFanToo-We called it Wild Otis & made it in the bath tub which was OK with me cause the first homebrew I encountered at about 10 yrs of age was made in a bath tub also.
