48th in rebounding overall. They have games they cant rebound like yesterday. Tiller was a part of that with the fouls but overall team just didn't have enough effort. But the offense is a complete mess and has been for years. The numbers don't lie

I just don't get it , Trying to figure it out as to WHY is it when we lose or when any other team WHY is it people automatically like BAM right off the bat they try to just start making excuses as to why they lost lol , why do people do that.

How about instead, of trying to make up an excuse like the most famous excuse always is-- Well the refs sure screwed is in this game dam refs blew so many calls lol, NO they didn't- - WE cost us the game ----just much easier to blame some one else other then admit the real reason , how about just admitting that we got beat today by the better team-- they were just better then us- -at least today they were. but we Just got to find an excuse other then just admit that the other team were better, They were better for sure ---this team we have is just inconsistent we give up big runs from the other team because we come up empty teo many 20 = =0- --- -18/zero
runs really terrible way to get your ass spanked , which we did.

Darryn his gotten a reputation on spending to much time of whining every time he shoots the ball and gets fouled so he says, after while refs just gonna ignore you - - -spend more time getting back on defense instead od crying all the time. Quit trying to find reasons why we got spanked and play ball
The refs didn't make us play sloppy ball . they are not beaten like a dog on the boards --don't come at me with the excuse of well they shot double the free throws then we did. Come on don't be bringing that in here , remember how things work in the phog . Pretty lame just admit we just got spanked by the better team-- it happens it really makes for a ba look and sad fans when you can;t admit we were beaten by the better team. -The biggest thing I see is, snd that is we are to inconsisent

Regardless of the reasons, is anybody here actually surprised we lost to a team that will most likely being playing in the championship game in April? Especially after we crushed their unbeaten season hopes and we had to play them again at their house?

Another question. Does anybody think that this years team doesn’t play with way more heart and joy than last year’s team? Especially after we got within 2 pts in the second half yesterday?

Yea, losing sucks and we should never get comfortable with it and analyzing what we did good and what we did bad is half the reason we log in here. But in 40 years of watching, I think last year’s team might have been my least favorite.

One year later I’m cracking up on Flory comments in the post game, smiling as Melvin goes from one side of the fieldhouse to the other taking selfies with adoring fans after a win, touched as Bill hugs his players, and yes even secretly sort of enjoying the DP drama unfold. Will he even play, or will he go off for 40 pt? No one knows, but all of college ball is talking about it.

I’ve had a great time watching this year - and expect a few more memorable games still in the weeks ahead. Thanks for the new site Approx, and glad your dad is doing better. I miss my dad every day.

When Micheal Jordan scored 69 points, I knew I’d always remember it as the night me and Micheal combined for 70 points — Stacey King, Former Bulls Player

@BeddieKU23 teams are so talented these days that every possession matters, and turnovers and offensive rebounding are more important now more than ever because you can keep recycling possessions. We are TERRIBLE at both turning teams over and offensive rebounding the ball

Yep, 9th in the country defensively due to being 5th in the country in blocks & 6th in FG % allowed from the field but are bottom 10 in the country in turnovers forced per game. If we forced more turnovers, we'd probably be the #1 defensive team in the country.

In the 300's for offensive rebounding. The only offensive stat KU is good with this year is surprisingly Free Throw %, go figure.

                Good post.

This year's team is worlds more fun to watch then the last couple.

I think outside of what you said, it's the way they are losing lately that's at least concerning to the point where you start to question some things. The Arizona game looked over by the first TV timeout and played out that way.

Peterson is playing but looks 80-85% maybe and the cohesion with the team is still not there with 2 games left in the regular season. Self said last week, health of the team is the biggest concern or thing that can help this team out the most. I'm sure that's not all directed at Peterson so it's something to monitor.

This team has proven over and over it can beat anyone but the margin for error isn't high with this bunch.

They have a chance to finish the season strong and lock up at Top 4 seed for next week so hopefully that's the goal they go after.

"The margin for error isn't high with this bunch." Truth! Bill talks about how we are not playing as well as we are capable. What would our capability look like?

@BeddieKU23 We honestly stopped zona a reasonable amount of times...they just kept getting board after board

True, we are giving up an average of 3 more offensive rebounds a game to opponents, but Zona only had 2 more then the avg. We can all remember the one possession where Arizona got 5 shots so it was definitely a problem with effort there.

The 30 FT attempts really were a big difference as well. Believe that's a season high for any opponent. 21 fouls called against KU when the team averages 14, which is top 10 in the country. Not going to blame the officiating but that 14-0 run by Zona after we cut it to 2 was very one-sided calls.

I think you could circle a lot things in this one that were an issue. My main concern as it has been most the season is the rebounding. The refs were garbage and it’s starting to become major news across the country right now because what is a foul or a traveling one game is not in another. Sometimes which end it is on is completely different, they could’ve very easily called at least another 10 fouls on Arizona with how tight the whistle was for them. You guys and gals know I’ve always said professional sports in this country are rigged. I’m starting to wonder if college isn’t the same. It literally looked like KU cut it to 2 and the refs got a page or text reminding them of the spread. I think they should press have conferences after the game for officials. I mean how many of us can repeatedly do our job wrong or not all without having repercussions? The guy cleaning the ice machine at McDonald’s gets written up for forgetting to do it but officials at the second highest level of sports in this country making 6 figures have to answer to nobody.
