Of courseā¦ the entire student body at KU waits it out. It is part of their character. After all, every single KU student has a proper ID proving they are 21, even when they are frosh.

I waited until I was legalā¦ in Iowa, which was 19 at the time.
(grew up in Illinois near the Quad Cities/went to college in Kirksville, MO, so I was only 30 miles from the border either way.)
Close enough. Been making up for lost time ever since.

@DanR I waited as well (weāre talking about drinking, right?) It was 18 in Kansas at the time. And like you said, made up for lost time for quite a while. But - I saw the video of my brother in lawās 30th birthday party many moons ago and have not had a drop of anything with alcohol in it since. AA should seriously consider video as a means of deterant. It worked for meā¦

First, you go to church and they tell you wine is the blood of Christ.
In time you become addicted to the wine.
Then you lose your faith in Christ because of your addiction to the wine.
Then wine addiction wrecks your life.
Then you go to AA and put yourself in the hands of a higher power: a God with coffee.
Itās all makes sense.

I have received communion thousands of times in 45 years. The total amount of transfigured wine I have been blessed to receive would not fill one wine glass.

@konkeyDong Pretty sure I was 18. Summer camp, snuck out with bunch of friends. Great memory. Yes I actually remember that!

@nuleafjhawk Mostly kidding about the āmaking up for lost timeā comment. I enjoy beer (craft/regional stuff) and thatās it, but I know enough people with problems with alcohol that I shouldnāt joke about it.
