Dorothy Dandridge.
Think of her as the Josh Gibson of African American movie actresses when Jim Crow still reigned.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dorothy_Dandridge
She was a gigantic talent undermined at every turn.
She made a lot of pictures, but she was, like Marilyn Monroe, generally exploited and attacked when she simply tried to stand up for herself and her career.
But being African American made things even more difficult for her than for Monroe.
She was a magnificient beauty and great talent.

If you are in or around the KC area, I would suggest a stop through the Negro League Baseball Museum. It is a trip you will not regret if you like history, baseball or both.
-
@justanotherfan thx! I do follow them on twitter.
-
@clevelandjayhawk I thought Babe Ruth or Lou Gherig or #42 Jackie Robinson were the best. But, I really dont know much about baseball.
-
Highly recommend the Negro Leagues Museum. The coolest part of it is the Field Of Legends…a mock baseball diamond with life-sized statues of Hall Of Famers at each position.
Not to mention, it’s just a short walk to Arthur Bryant’s!
-
@clevelandjayhawk I don’t know man, I think the fact that there’s a question mark after his name pretty much discounts the EVER part. That would be like some saying Wilt Chamberlain ?

@Crimsonorblue22 Willie Mays.
