Jayhawk football schedule. Wissox Forecast.

  • Hard to believe in a little more than a week this team is going to be playing and making my predictions come true.

  • Nice to see KU receivers ball out tonight in the preseason. Skinner had a nice one hand TD for the jets and Grimm took back a punt for the chargers. Will miss the talented WR corps we’ve had the last few years.

  • So far so good regarding your predictions.

  • @Jhawk69 Anyone could have predicted those 3 results!!

  • @wissox I predicted those 3 results too. Where our picks first diverge is that you picked us to beat WVU and I picked us to lose. Here’s hoping you are right about that one.

  • @Jhawk69 WVU went to Ohio last weekend and lost to Ohio (not State!) I think we can handle them!

  • They lost despite the fact that Ohio’s QB threw 3 interceptions. But I have an eerie feeling WVU will bounce back and play a lot better against us.

  • @Jhawk69 getting an extra week to prepared and with how they have looked. There is not an excuse good enough to lose to WVU imo.

  • Forecast looking good so far. Maybe can see how WVU lost to Ohio.

  • @kjayhawks said in Jayhawk football schedule. Wissox Forecast.:

    @kjayhawks yep!

  • How are we feeling? Obviously tonight’s results weren’t shocking. But it feels like the KSU game has gained a lot of value. I’m not sure I see the loser of that one making to a bowl game. I will say this we have played a much much tougher schedule to this point. I think Tech is a top 5 team in the country and Cincinnati, Mizzou are at least top 20 ball clubs. The best chances at wins are our next 3 opponents.

  • Over all hard to feel down about KU football. We beat 3 top 25 opponents in a row? last year. We have leveled up our recruiting. We have a new stadium. We have a 5th year QB and head coach that have been all class.

Yes, there were some head scratchers last night, but we also dominated for a stretch and almost drew level.

Our run D up the middle and O converting 3rd and 1s are areas for improvement.

Marjan kicked a 55 yarder with 10 yards to spare!

Rawls Kamala and Alexander are players. Other guys have stepped up throughout the year on D. I like what we are building.

We need Marshall to make the leap. I hope he will be ready.

For now, count me very happy with competitive Kansas football.

  • Anybody know how bad Dye is?

  • @approxinfinity I am very frustrated with our fan base right now.

  • We are still KU Football even ignoring the Gill to Miles era.

LL was too successful almost too quick for his own good. Fan expectations are wild.

We need to give LL time with all his new shiny toys before we even think about pulling the plug

  • Last night was predictable. How competitive do fans think the Chiefs would be if they spent $50m when the salary cap is $200m?

  • @FarmerJayhawk correct, I LL should feel Pressure if we miss a bowl game for the second consecutive year other than that he should have no heat at this moment. We are about 3 plays from being 6-1

  • @FarmerJayhawk Without Mahomes they would suck - so you don’t have to go that far. The Patriots just handed the Bills a L and the Pats are 58m under the cap. The Eagles bought the last championship with by being about 200mil over the cap with dead money structured into future cap hits. Money is inportant, but the Jimmy’s and Joe’s you spend it on are more important- see UNC football and the GM and Belichek that everyone was drooling over in the offseason - ooh shiny failure.

KU football is never joining to be in the conversion of a national title. The only reason fans currently think KU is decent is the Big12 is really bad at football - like d2 bad. It’s good for KU, but whomever gets invited to the playoff (TT) is going to get embarrassed by a real team. I’m just trying to enjoy being above .500 and possibly going to meaningless bowl games, it’s a huge improvement.

  • @kjayhawks It’s interesting because we write the same thing on each of his seasons it seems. Our losses are not bad losses, this week excluded. Our losses are close games which the fatal flaw is the struggle to make the play in the last 2-3 minutes of games. 2 of 3 losses this year fit the category. So many what iffs last year. I forget the “Bean Year” where we had fewer losses which games were close calls hinging on mistakes in crunch time but I know there were several.

  • We did give Mizzou a decent game.

  • @wissox it’s like Kansas football is snake bitten in close games I could prob name 30 one possession games we should’ve won since 2005. Bout the only years we didn’t lose them was 07 and the Bean year of 23.

  • @dylans it’s just an analogy, of course how you spend the money matters. It’s the reason Tech has a top 10 roster in the game. They spent more on their lines than anyone. They have the best DL probably in the sport. Turns out when you have an alum who’s willing to spend all the money it certainly helps. They have a chance to really make some noise in the CFP.

The Big 12 is nowhere close to D2, I was at a MIAA game Saturday and it’s really nowhere close to Big 12 (or really even any G5 league) ball.

  • @FarmerJayhawk I agree. Spend in the trenches.

  • @FarmerJayhawk @dylans Tech can play with any team in the country when they are healthy no question in my mind. They are about the only team ku hasn’t competed with in the last 3 years.

  • Anyone else see the prices of tickets for next week? Cheapest ones are still $170 for two unranked teams. Then we wonder why we don’t sell out

  • @kjayhawks It’s probably because they always have free concessions. All you can eat/drink for free. Plus free clothes. 🙄🙄🙄

  • @nuleafjhawk I remember going to games for $15 now we weren’t very good but damn I think anything more than $75 is joke

  • @kjayhawks True story. In 1995 I was bored out of my mind (it’s a chronic problem in the town where I live) and told my father-in-law that we were taking a road trip. KU and Oklahoma State were playing in Stillwater and it was something to do. They were both unbelievably awful so we weren’t expecting great things, just something to take the edge off of the boredom.

We walked up to the ticket office and basically the lady said - pick your seats, they’re all available. I picked a couple around the 45 yard line and she said “that’ll be $76” I was like - no no no. I don’t want season tickets! (The small college in our town charged $2) We settled for the $19 seats in the end zone.

Anyway, KU won so I guess it was worth it.

  • @nuleafjhawk when my wife and I got bored one Saturday back when we first started dating in 2012 we decided to go to the ISU game. Found tickets for $15 and went for that. Now we didn’t win unfortunately but not shocking. I’ve never witnessed a win in memorial stadium. My first game was a beat down by OU in 2001, then A&M is 2002 that was back in my highschool days when we would go with FCA to KU football and KSU basketball likely because it was cheap lol. I’ve watched us lose to the likes of central Michigan, Ohio and Rice. I’m willing to pay a fair price but like I said they are pricing average fans out of sports in this economy.

  • @kjayhawks youre right. Even spectating youth sports cost too much.

  • @approxinfinity Shoot, even watching on TV is getting expensive

  • McDonald’s cost too much. Everything is overpriced these days, but me. 😂

  • They just released the game time of the bowls for my son’s 5th/6th grade team and it’s at 1:00 so I can’t go anyways. I dislike the 11:00 am kick for a rivalry game. Shows how much the rest of the country doesn’t care about two unranked teams.

  • @dylans This is way off course, but I just now had a phone call from Sirius XM. I dumped their worthless “service” 3 or 4 weeks ago and they have called or emailed every single day since. I was with them for 18 years and every year I had to battle with them over pricing. Last year I told them “I’m done. Cancel my subscription” The fellow said he would lock in the price ($6.75 for each vehicle) and the price would never change and we would never get another call from them. SOLD!

So last month sometime Capitol One texts us and says “Hey, this charge went from $13.50 to $34. 75. Is that ok?” God bless Capitol One. So I call Sirius, and very politely tell them to shove everything they can find up their thieving asses and I went to using Android Auto. I listen to whatever I want free of charge.

  • @nuleafjhawk Don’t accept their deal. I have a 3 year deal for $3 per month flat. If you tell them that’s the only deal you will accept, they’ll come around. If you want XM back, that is.

  • @dylans Thank you, but I’m really happy wthe free Android Auto right now.
