See y'all for football!

  • Postseason blaming going on as usual…not for me. I prefer to remember the good and the fun, and to be grateful for our extraordinary record that causes so many people to get so angry during disappointments. It is a game, and hopefully not the center of anyone’s existence. Good luck to everyone and lets see if the Royals surprise again!

  • @mayjay Thats seems to be a major part of the problem my friend. For a lot of people here, when you have such a winning program year in and year out it becomes automatically expected with some.- When you have a bump in the road and don’t win the title every year or a final four, fans gt pissed then they try and dissect EVERYTHING and the most popular thing to do is - -FIRE THE COACH the game has passed him by , he is no good , he needs to retire.- - -It still amazes me when this happens, I guess the opposition has nothing to do with the outcome of the Season, I guess they are suppose to just roll the ball out on the floor and tell KU ok , you name the score and let us know when your done so we can get our ball back.

I know what your saing.- As for me sure I get pissed in the heat of the moment, frustrated, all the things that go with it but at the end of the day --your 100 % spot on – it’s a game a hell of a lot more then basketball makes up my existence.

I get more pissed at some who want to unload on Coach Self at the first sign of trouble , GOD forbid he ripples the Crimson waters-- SPOILED thatall it amounts too , but I guess Coach created that by winning so much. I’ll always back Coach Self until the end, even after he retires he will go down one of the best Coach’s KU has had or maybe the best for what he accomplished here at KU.

Hell people loved Roy while at KU- -tell me how many NCAA trophies did he win while here at KU? - -Hey they were his recruits, so can’t say well they weren’t -He won a big fat ZERO while at KU- -Did he win what 14 consecutive Conference Championships while he was here ?

The big question I would love to have answered is OK so people think it’s time for Bill to retire and he sucks , he is no good- - So tell me then what Coach given the current roster that Coach has exactly the same roster make up -how many other Coach’s would of done any better then Coach Self ?- --I’ll answerer they wouldn’t have- -not with this roster, I know well this it’s Self s players ok right, but if there are Better Coach’s then let’s see them do better with our current roster- - THEY WOULDN’T-- Coach Self has done so much for this program but yet GOD forbid he has a couple of rocky Seasons - -give me a fricken break like mayjay says It is a gme Agree 1000 & mayjay

  • @SlimShaddy54 it’s a fine line. Yes, he has 800+ wins. Yes, he’s a Hall of Fame coach. Yes, he has two National Championships.

He also has had three very mediocre teams since 2022. He’s had fairly boring teams who don’t seem to hustle much and don’t really seem to care when they lose. Hey, they’re getting paid so why should they care?

I’m sour on Bill right now, but to be fair, I’m sour on college sports as a whole.

  • For what its worth, we did better against Arkansas than St Johns did, despite the appearance that they played a whole lot harder. We made more threes and we beat ourselves with a lack of composure.

I would really like Bill Self to get his guys to play hard, but maybe that was their maximum gear at years end

  • I’ve been watching Maryland basketball for years ( daughter went there ) and they, like others, have had fabulous luck with their transfers this season. They are super athletic, supremely confident, and not afraid to drive and shoot, and coach Willard does NOT pull guys right away when they f up.

In the portal, We need ATHLETIC studs who can score, and Self needs to keep them on the floor to build their confidence. Calimari got very good athletes for Arkansas, and they are gelling now.

A lot of teams on the rise right now in the B12. Houston has taken over the spot Kansas held for years as the dominant team. We have to really figure out the recruiting/ transfer game real soon. Maybe time to re-evaluate the staff around Self?

  • Case could be made that Self and KU would’ve played yesterday if KJ didn’t get hurt. For what it’s worth Mayjay, my Badgers on line community is far worse. Yesterday they ‘forced’ me to turn the game off at the half. Wasn’t going well, but the online people were trolling big time.

It is nice to be a KU fan and to be honest, “my” 1988 championship is a lifelong feelgood memory that few college students get to experience and it’s made me content to take these season ending losses nearly every year since.

Although the Sox have me sad, it’s freed up a lot of time, and money in the summers to do other things that are pleasurable in the summer. I live right along Lake Michigan, 5 minute walk, and last summer I spent so many great evenings over there that might have been sitting in my lazy boy watching baseball if the Sox were decent so, football is the next sport season I really pay attention to! First world problems we all have for sure.
