This is for people rooting for St Johns: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1001623258545179/?referral_source=external_deeplink

@approxinfinity haha thats funny to be honest I just hate Cal as much as anything but Arkansas is has more size and athleticism than just about every team St. John has faced this season.
-
@approxinfinity https://www.facebook.com/share/r/165b3FpHAB/?mibextid=wwXIfr
I like stuff like this accountability and toughness
.
-
@kjayhawks im picking st johns in this one
-
Zuby man we missed on him
-
@kjayhawks seriously.
-
@approxinfinity the way he running the floor and everywhere right now missed that like KJ but with size
-
@kjayhawks yeah imagine how our pace could have differed with Udeh Zuby and a healthy Elmarko.
-
Iām disappointed because I honestly thought if we could get past Arkansas we couldāve beaten this team. Obviously KJ being injured late we probably wouldnāt have a good shot
-
These seniors blew a very possible sweet 16 path

Right on paper we are much better shooting team than Arkansas and we match up well with St Johnās who doesnāt guard the line well.

It was a very generous path, especially considering the likely sweet 16 matchup wouldāve been Tech whoās beatable. But of course the team had to let the fanbase down one last time
-
There we go Zuby with a big dunk, 12 points already
-
Ejiofer is a force. Sigh
-
Itās embarrassing how much more athletic these teams are compared to this yearās squad
-
@rcjhdraft pretty much is the consensus on X no heart, no energy, no loyalty and no athleticism in regards to our team this season
-
Really kind of surprising that the schedulers couldnāt have had OU and MichSt play at different times yesterday so the Fears brothers parents couldāve watched both sons play.
-
Well looks like Arkansas is gonna advance smh

Somehow this game has made me even more mad about this season. I have zero love for any of the seniors

Ya Iām pissed because of our seniors could make a simple pass we are playing right now. Prob donāt win without KJ but still Juan, Hunter and Zeke have turned the ball over repeatedly with the game on the line. Thatās unacceptable for guys with their experience level.

Just unreal that we watched 4 seasons of a guy who canāt penetrate the paint and by the end of his career, could barely defend point of attack(the one thing he was supposed to be good at)
-
@rcjhdraft there is a good chance Elmarko by mid season is better than Juan has ever been. Iām a little concerned coming of the injury for sure but Juan hasnāt improved. His stat are identical in most categories, struggles to get to paint and keep guys out of the paint. Was the same thing he had trouble with the first time he played. Anyone that says otherwise is a bold face liar or blind.
-
@kjayhawks He was so awful. Starting a point guard who canāt reliably shoot a pull-up off of a screen is brutal for the offense
-
Zuby finished the with 23 points and 12 rebounds. He played great the St John guards couldnāt hit the ground with their hat in 3 tries. He had almost the exact same output of KJ and Hunt combined against the same team. Thats a huge ouch man
-
Plus Aidoo, who destroyed Hunter for an efficient 20+ points was held to 7 by Zuby
-
@rcjhdraft right sometimes I hate myself for being right so damn often believe @Texas-Hawk-10 and I were the only ones worried about giving up Zuby and Udeh for Hunter. Iāve been full of shit about Juan and KJ playing too much to everyone on this site but yet it turned out exactly as I said it would againā¦
-
@kjayhawks yeah sure you are the only one that voiced any concerns about Hunter
i believe i said a thing or two after recovering from the initial nut punch.
-
@kjayhawks To be honest, its possible you WERE full of shit about Juan and KJ playing too much. Specifically, if Shak was too hurt to play (as Self mentioned in post game when he mentioned Shak and Elmarko being hurt really affected the make up of this team) and since KJ was a better option to pair with Flory than Hunter down the stretch.
We can agree that roster construction was putrid but Im not sure the consensus is unanimous about playing time. We simply didnt have better options, and those options were mediocre.
-
Dont get me wrong, I criticized Selfs decision to have Flory on the bench and went through a stretch where i thought playing him over KJ was the answer. I never really saw an alternative to Juan.
KJ seemed to find new energy late in the season while Juan got progressively worse. But we had to get to that point to see it.
Hunter was the biggest problem on this roster, and then Juan as the only viable handler.
-
@approxinfinity I do agree that injuries did hurt us at PG. but we also had Zeke who at times did bring the ball up and Diggy. I said the last two seasons we donāt advance outta the first weekend with them two playing 30 minutes a game. I was a million percent correct period end of discussion. I told repeatedly about how great Juan was several by posters. Excuses are like assholes, everyone has them. We didnāt use common sense roster construction the last two seasons and it bit our asses period.
-
Zeke and Diggy were never good passers or handlers and cost us as much or more than Juan. There just wasnt another option when philon decommitted and Elmarko went down.
-
@kjayhawks my point is you have a habit of getting all āme against the world, Im right everyone else was wrongā and it was never like that, nor is it like that now. There were many people skeptical of roster construction. I am the first person to eat crow when its in order. But I think you are mischaracterizing everyone else as being diametrically opposed to you in the rear view. There were some but def not all.
-
@approxinfinity maybe true, I just feel like Iām correct most of the time about things and I flack for it. We are probably all extra pissed off after the way the last few days have went. I not a rocket scientist and probably not anywhere near the smartest person on this site but I know basketball and I know it well.
-
I do agree that @Texas-Hawk-10 had this team pretty much nailed from day one of the roster construction. And you were one of the more vocal posters early about Hunter.
-
@kjayhawks yeah, you werenāt wrong. just let other people commiserate with you, please. thereās more than one seat in this bitchwagon
-
@approxinfinity you I love you either way buddy lol
-
@kjayhawks I remember throwing up in my mouth a little bit watching this awkward high five.
Not only is Hunter the face of the worst 2 years of the Bill Self Era, he also is the first big face of NIL at KU, and unfortunately, his legacy will carry that as well.
-
Was bummed Zuby got bounced. He was carrying St Johns, and I was prepared to watch him a couple more games
-
Was pulling for creighton
-
This wisconsin byu game down to last possession
-
Hate to be mean to @wissox bit that was the worst officiated game of the tournament so far. BYU wins by at least 12 if the game is called correctly. Had took many blow outs this weekend and Vegas was buzzing the officials lol
-
Houston - SIX STRAIGHT SWEET SIXTEEN APPEARANCES
Not too shabby

Sampson has proven he is a solid coach down there and they are a problem for us moving forward no question.
-
@kjayhawks Iām at my elderly parents who live with my sister. The game was background noise that I turned off at the half. Figured if they came back to win Iād be excited and could watch my recording. First half wasnāt aware of the refs being bad.
-
@wissox they was fine in the first half, if watch the second youāll see lol
-
You realize the Big 12 is - ā - 9-1 so far in the tourney ? ā we won - -6 out of 7 first round games and then we went 3 =3 today/tonight, Iād say thatās not to shabby

Yes, 9-1 with the good guys being the 1ā¦
B10 and B12 have dominated so far - the former is 10-2. SEC was just 8-6 in the 1st round; lost one more yesterday, although Auburn, Tennessee and Arkansas looked good. ACC a complete flame out and the BE has underperformed.
-
@kjayhawks and he pronounces words very well!
-
@DCHawker Oh Iām loving that. I do agree that ya , SEC was pretty much the best Conference this Season. Yet come money time- ānot so much.
ESPN hates this , they despise the Big 12 in doing well, they along with SEC & BIG want the BIG twelve to no longer exist, thatās why Iām so proud of the league.-- Now w might lose one today --I think Baylor is up against Duke today right ? Even at that how great would it be to have ISU win and our other Big 12 team, forget who that is right at this minute but they win and we would have right at 1/3 of the sweet sixteen

Nope. Only saw one Big12 game. It was a bit of a disappointment.
