We rip on other fan bases for letting KU live rent free in their heads so why are we letting Duke live rent free in ours?

I don’t really care about Dook, I do laugh a lot at their fans and talking heads. They had Parker, he was next LeBron and future Goat. Same could be said for Banchero, Zion, Flagg and a dozen others that haven’t brought a NC to Dook or had a great pro career for whatever reason. @BShark I agree that Banchero has a very high ceiling. I feel like our pros get a lot of Jazz but you could put all the hawks on one team and they’d be a threat to win it all.

Also, before he got hurt, Banchero was averaging 29 ppg, 8.8 rpg, and 5.6 apg. He legitimately deserves the hype he’s getting because it won’t be much longer before he’s a legit top 10 player in the NBA.

Alright. Guess I am in the minority thinking Banchero is overrated so I need to watch some Magic games.
Notable that there are 2 dookies and 1 wildcat on here, no hawks. Hopefully this distribution has some KU representation in a couple years.

Are you referring to “Duke” as in British Royalty or as in fighting - “duke it out” ? That’s the only dukes I know. Besides Dukes of Hazzard and I gotta leave a duke in the toilet.

@BShark I haven’t sat down and watched a full NBA game since the early 00’s. No defense, no strategy, just becomes a game of whom can jack up the most 3 or take it one on one.

I once wore a Duke shirt proudly after they beat us in the 91 championship game. My grandparents retired to the triangle area and when Grandma got ill she spent a lot of time at Duke hospital. Grandpa became a Duke fan, also became friends with James Worthy who worked at the cafeteria there (he never let the facts get in the way of a good story!) and bet me a T-Shirt on the result of the game. I lost the bet and honored Grandpa by wearing it for a few years I guess before…? I’m not sure what happened to it.
I’m really most proud of the 2022 championship and winning the FF that most were saying the stars were lined up for Coach krybaby’s swan song. Beating him in 88 was sweet as well. I think that’s when he was a great coach and recruiting was different and he could really prepare those teams every year to make the FF. 7 times from 86 to 94 they made the FF and of course as I referred to finally got his ring.
The annoyance of Duke is present in the Laettner shot. Greatest shot ever we hear. Well it was nice, but really how was it better than Mario’s, or Keith Smarts or the guy at Villanova or the double clutch 3 just seconds before by the Carolina guy? Christian hit his in an elite 8 game. I can’t even remember other game winners to get to the FF, but there must be many as 4 teams make it every year. Tyus Edny, first round game buzzer beater in which his UCLA team doesn’t win it all and freaking misery moves on and maybe makes their only FF ever. I’d say Tyus’ shot is just as important and memorable.

@BShark too many regular season NBA games to be a good product is the main problem. Players take off games since playoff seeding can be a crap shoot, so really just playing for home court advantage which isn’t as important as players being healthy.
I generally agree with your sentiment but we have to check our biases with this. A neutral observer could watch a random NBA game vs a random college basketball game and I bet most would say the NBA game is more entertaining. College ball just has better intangibles and better tourney format which puts it over the top for me, but we are also usually watching a top 10 team play. I don’t know that I would say the same thing if I grew up in Boston a Celtics fan who went to a non basketball power college.
