Hells Bells, we’ve got quite the interesting ride ahead of us! (not a complete list because of the cupcakes that are also there)
Nov. 8. UNC. In the fieldhouse! Epic
Nov 12. MSU. In the champions classic in Atlanta for the first time.
Nov 26. Duke Out in Vegas!
So in the first month we’ve already played 3 bluebloods!
Nov 30. Furman. No big deal but Ben Vanderwahl is a kid from my HS and the son of HS classmates of mine.
Dec 4. Creighton. In Omaha. Won’t be easy
Dec 8 Missouri Most underrated rivalry in sports.
Dec 14. Final four team NCState. Another home game, but good opponent!
And after that? Strangely the athletic department hasn’t listed any more games beyond the 14th! But 6 great games in the first month+ of the season? Yes please.
-
@wissox I see it a little different - The home slate has two great games - UNC and Arizona. The rest are ok, but only because KU is playing. Half the best games are on the road. Ugg. The schedule is nice for TV viewing, but the in Lawrence slate isn’t worth the price of season tickets to this cat - $18k for 2 seats not in the rafters. Hard pass. I’m looking forward to tv viewership, but it’s gotten pretty cost prohibitive to attend with any regularity. - will have to attend the @wissox way, buy gen admin and look for unsold seats on Stubhub to get closer.

Speaking of TV viewership, that’s actually getting harder and more expensive for the average Joe.
I understand the Big 12 now has a steaming deal with CBS and Paramount+.
Yet another streaming service we all have to buy to watch a KU hoops game.
It’s nice that we have an option to watch, but @#$!!

@rockchalkjayhawk this yr?
-
@dylans I was looking for the rest of the schedule when I made my post. Saw nothing about the B12 schedule.
BTW, the best way to afford a game is to wait until 15-20 minutes before game time and look for people desperate to sell tickets on Stubhub/SeatGeek/etc. Price drops. This has worked since scalpers sold tickets to gladiators fighting lions. Failproof!

After reading the copy/paste below, i’m a bit confused if i should have a complaint about another streaming service. Seems unclear if it’s just CBS network games, or if more on streaming. Can you make sense of it? @Crimsonorblue22
CBS Sports and the Big 12 Conference have expanded their partnership by significantly increasing the number of Big 12 men’s college basketball games across the Network’s platforms. The multi-year deal, which runs through the 2026-27 season, is through a sublicense agreement with ESPN.
As part of its extensive regular-season schedule, CBS Sports already broadcasts a minimum of six Big 12 men’s college basketball games annually on CBS, with those games streaming live on Paramount+. This new agreement adds 20 games per year to air on CBS Sports Network to bring the total number of Big 12 men’s basketball games to at least 26 per season across CBS Sports platforms.

BTW, got my Las Vegas tickets for KU vs. Duke!
Crazy story: awhile back i signed up for a presale through the Tmobile Arena website. Tickets were supposed go on sale Oct. 4, with a presale on Oct. 3. So, i marked my calendar, got my plane tickets lined up. As luck would have it, i was looking around on Facebook and happened upon a post from KU Athletics that tickets were on sale now for KU Duke on their Facebook site. I’m like, huh??? BAM, tickets were actually on sale yesterday morning! I was shocked, but hurried to buy up a few. There weren’t too many left.
Lucked out. i can’t imagine my options on Oct. 3 would have been as good.
Rock Chalk! Beat them Dookies!

@rockchalkjayhawk I already have paramount+ for football and a handful of other shows. But it stinks for folks with cable or satellite to have to pony up more out of pocket.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk KU-Duke on Stubhub right now fairly reasonable starting around 60.

Not bad. i’m in the lower bowl, but high up behind the basket. $97.50 per ticket at face value. But do you think i skated by for $195? ha. Service fees, mystery fees, licensing fees, you name it! insane.
I’ve been looking to see if i can upgrade my seats, but maybe not worth the big bump in price.
Rock Chalk in Vegas!
-
@rockchalkjayhawk the fees are crazy!!! $300 tickets turn into $550. lol wtf!!!
-
Check out the KU UNC ticket prices (with fees).
-
Uh oh. scared to look. I dunno how they get away with this crap. I also should be used to this when booking a hotel by now, but same kinda deal: $50 resort fee per day, etc…$$$.

Ya I’ve been a KU fan for right t 62 years now. Used to be able to go to games- -me for one who just doesn’t have excess money I can toss away will neve be in the Phog again - - just can’t afford it.- -By the time you figure in your tickets – - your parking – - and Concessions --therre is just no way for someone who lives off a retricted income.
Hell I remember in Concessions just for what THEY CALLLED A JUMBO DOD cost 6 six bucks just for it by it’self.- -If I’m going to pay six Dollars for a plain hot dog - -which is what it was, nothing JUMBO about it— if I pay Si dollars for that-- -I tell you what that hot dog better do something REALLY , REALLY , SPECIAL for me
-
@dylans seat geek and stub hubs fees are a percentage of the tickets. The fees are almost as much as the tickets themselves. The tickets were only $165 a piece for my family of 4 but adding the fees and parking we spent over $1000 to go last year. Like I’ve been saying the past couple of years they are quickly pricing average fans out the equation between inflated ticket prices and needing to have 3-5 streaming services to watch.
-
@rockchalkjayhawk “they” get away with this because us dumbasses pay the price. Same for NBA, NFL, MLB and every other sport.
The prices that are paid to professional athletes is disgusting - obscene.
-
Supply and demand. Allen is always sold out because fans love it and are willing to pay it. They can’t give away enough tickets to sell out the octagon of room
-
@FarmerJayhawk I hate to be “that” guy, but you have a slight misspelling. It’s actually the octagon of dumb.
-
@nuleafjhawk autocorrect said you hate @FarmerJayhawk
-
@approxinfinity CRAP! Thank you for pointing that out. I fixed it.
Definitely don’t hate you brother @FarmerJayhawk!
