Where to Watch. Hint: ESPN+ (still sucks)
-
I got a notice that my subscription to ESPN+ is going up to $119.99.
Found this about televising our games from FanSided:
The Champions Classic on Nov. 8 against Michigan State and the Vegas Showdown on Nov. 26 will be broadcast on ESPN. ESPN will eventually air other Kansas basketball contests on the channel, including ESPN2 and ESPNU.
ESPN and the Big 12 have been utilizing the Big 12 Now service on ESPN+ in recent years. Kansas and other schools in the conference must utilize ESPN+ to air 10 of its games per season. Usually, they are nonconference games against lesser-known schools that would not warrant a national broadcast — an example would be Howard or Oakland early in the season.
Jayhawk fans might want to invest in an ESPN+ subscription in November and December until league play arrives. The team’s two scrimmages vs. Washburn and John Calipari’s Arkansas Razorbacks will be hosted on Big 12 Now. ESPN+ streams Late Night in the Phog, but you can view it on Facebook Watch through the Kansas Jayhawks Facebook page as well.
Every year, conference play TV schedules are released during the season. Most games will be aired on a national ESPN station, but CBS and ABC often air conference games. Ultimately, ESPN+ will air 10 Kansas basketball games this year, and national ESPN networks should host at least 15 or more. More information should be released to the public next month when the regular season commences.

I think we are still waiting for the full TV schedule to come out. But, rest assured, ESPN+ finds a way to spread out the games so you need it all season.

@RockChalkinTexas WAIT! WHAT? $119.99 ???
How do I check and see what I’m paying? I’ve had it for a few years and thought it was like $6.00 or something. I can’t cancel that sonofabitch fast enough if it’s that high.
Now that I’ve ranted and raved - is that yearly? Or monthly?
-
@nuleafjhawk I believe it is $10.99 a month, but they are raising it to $11.99 a month in the near future.
-
Listen for free on the radio

@nuleafjhawk Depends on if you have ESPN+ bundled with Disney Plus and Hulu. The non-ad free version of that bundle is $15 per month currently (basically $5/month for each channel) and the ad-free version is $25/month currently. That’s not a terrible deal for 3 platforms, especially if there’s already stuff on Disney and Hulu that you watch.
A Disney+ subscription by itself is $8/month for the ad version and $13/month for the ad free version. Hulu is $8/month for the ad version and $18/month ad free. ESPN+ by itself is now $11/month. If you watch anything on more than one of those platforms, it makes zero sense to not pay for the bundle and get all three.
If you’re paying $120, it’s likely a one time payment for whatever you’re subscribed to for the year and is likely the bundle with all 3 of D+, Hulu, and ESPN+.

The Arkansas scrimmage may very well end up on SEC Network and not ESPN+ since it’s in Fayetteville and that game will have a lot of interest since it’s Calipari’s first game with Arkansas.
The Washburn game will for sure be ESPN+. The non-conference games with a strong possibility of being ESPN+ games are Howard, Oakland, UNC-Wilmington, Furman, and Brown. That gets KU to 6 games, leaving 4 Big 12 games on ESPN+. The Big 12 games that seem most likely to me to end up on ESPN+ would be the WVU game in AFH, UCF in Orlando, at Cincy, and I could see the Colorado game in Lawrence, the Utah game in SLC, and the BYU game in Provo. Not all of those will, but I’d bet the 4 come from that group of games.

@Texas-Hawk-10 thanks for all the info!

I had to laugh when I got my notice. - -they said they were increasingESPN plus to 12.12 monthly. - -I told the wife we needed to figure out exactly how ESPN Plus was going to refund our Money to us lol… Hell I’ve been playing 12.12 a month already for the entire current year. - -I’ve always paid monthly, s if they are just now raising it to 12.12 a month then they best be refunding me money because before that I think I was paying 10.95 monthly - they just now raising my monthly charge to 12.12 I’ve been paying to much all year already
-
@nuleafjhawk I only have a yearly subscription to ESPN+. No Disney+ or Hulo whatever
-
I honestly have no idea how I’m paying for ESPN+. I’ve looked back through two years of credit card statements…no monthly, no annual. I’ve tried to change my payment method, and it says “do it through whatever app you used to sign up.” I’ve checked my Disney and Hulu etc. which I suspend occasionally for months at a time. I’ve had both of the credit cards I use replaced in the past 2 years (lost one/the other expired etc., so new numbers). Yet still… free ESPN+ as far as I can tell. I’ve given up. Maybe with the rate change I’ll be able to figure it out.

@DanR It is in a package with Hulu and Disney many times.

PayPal? That’s how I found my mystery ESPN+ payment.
