  • The A-10 Tournament has been absolutely wild so far with all 4 top 4 seeds losing in the quarterfinals. That means the A-10 will be a multiple bid league this season as Dayton was the only school that was a lock going into that tournament.

  • Surprised Wichita St still playing, in the AAC they play UAB at 3:00 today -beating Memphis yesterday

  • Tennessee is getting absolutely destroyed at halftime by Mississippi St. Bulldogs are doubling up the Vols 38-19 at halftime. This would be absolutely huge for seeding as Tennessee is currently the front runner for the 4th 1 seed over UNC and Arizona.

  • Purdue and Michigan St. are in a dogfight coming down to the wire. Purdue’s up 3 with about 90 seconds left.

  • Purdue held on to beat MSU by 5.

  • Kansas went into the Big 12 tournament without its two best players — Kevin McCullar Jr. and Hunter Dickinson — and promptly got blown out by Cincinnati. Meanwhile, Marquette announced that All-America point guard Tyler Kolek wouldn’t play in the Big East tournament with his lingering oblique injury. Both teams expressed confidence that their stars would be back and healthy for the NCAA Tournament. But how can we know for sure?

The committee is undoubtedly getting all the latest information on these and other injuries through its conference reporting system. It’s possible, likely even, that Kansas and Marquette have given them more details and assurance than the public has received. Still, this is a tough place to be. Both teams’ losses down the stretch — the Jayhawks lost by 30 at Houston in the regular-season finale and have dropped four of their past five, while the Golden Eagles have lost two of their last three without Kolek — can be attributed partially if not substantially to the injuries. But clearly, neither team is the same without their stars. And the committee won’t have proof that they will in fact be back to full strength before Selection Sunday.

Nor do we have a great idea of what to do here. With the Jayhawks suffering their 10th loss amid such uncertainty, we bumped them down to a No. 4 seed during our fresh scrub of the bracket. But a full-bore Kansas team is deserving of at least a No. 3 seed. Luckily, we’ve got a few more days to think this over.

  • Bubble Watch action:

Texas A&M may have cost themselves a bid by blowing an 18 point lead against Florida.

FAU is currently losing to Temple in an AAC semifinal. FAU is the only at large team in the AAC so them losing shrinks the bubble.

SDSU and New Mexico are in a dogfight for the MWC title. New Mexico is one of the last 4 in so a loss may well knock them out.

  • FAU losing to Temple shrinks the bubble.

And New Mexico about to beat SDSU locks them into the field.

  • Lots of bubble action today. The AAC champs will steal a bid, the A10 champs will steal a bid, NC State is stealing a bid, New Mexico is stealing a bid.

  • So many upsets this year in the conference tournaments. UConn is the only 1 seed in a major conference to win their conference tournament. Only 9 teams so far out of the 32 conferences have won their conference tournaments as a 1 seed. There will only be a maximum of 10 regular season conference champs also winning their conference tournaments this year. I don’t know if there’s ever been a year like that before.

Here’s the list of 1 seeds that actually won their conference tournaments: Vermont (America East), UConn (Big East), Charleston (CAA), Oakland (Horizon), Colgate (Patriot), Grambling (SWAC), Samford (Southern), South Dakota St. (Summit), St. Mary’s (WCC). Grand Canyon could join this list tonight if they win the WAC title game.

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 always love the work you put in on this in the lead up to tourney. Thanks dude.

  • Yestreday was not a good day to be a projected # 1 seed for the upcoming tourney lol. - -3 out of the 4 projected got whupped

  • To give an idea on how much chaos happened on the bubble yesterday, the First Four games are played between the 4 lowest ranked at-large teams. Those games are typically between 11 seeds going on to play a 6 seed, this year though, they will be 10 seeds going on to play 7 seeds.

Joe Lunardi is also apparently ignoring a tournament guideline of trying to avoid rematch early on in the NCAA Tournament because he has KU matched up against Yale in a 4/13 game. KU has already played and beaten Yale this season in December.

  • Yale won the Ivy League in a crazy ending over Brown. Brown had 2 FT’s while up 1 with 10 seconds left. Brown bricked both FT’s and fouled Yale with 6 seconds left because they had a foul to give. Yale looked like they weren’t going to get a clean look, but they found a guy wide open at the rim who flipped it in at the buzzer to give Yale a 1 point victory.

  • Duquesne looking to make their first NCAA Tournament since 1977.

  • VCU has flipped the game, they look like they will come back and win this

  • Duquesne up 3 with 59 seconds left.

  • Duquesne is dancing

  • Auburn’s going to win the SEC title. Feel bad for Florida losing their center early on and not having a real shot at competing.

  • UAB appears on their way to the AAC title up 17 with a little over 7 minutes left.
