I’m willing to clear my good name. Although @BShark has handled it brilliantly I believe that some unfairly blame me for the last game chat I started causing us to lose. We can overcome the so called curse of Wissox.

All coaches with Texas in their school name are corrupt. Today is a classic good vs. evil matchup. It’s US-USSR olympic hockey in Lake Placid style good/evil.
I think Kev should sit (maybe he will anyways).
I really never thought this team would be good enough to challenge for a NC but the combo of Wilsons brilliance, DaJuans awesome floor game, and KJ recovering the lost mojo we’re back to being a scary matchup for every team out there.

In our FF years we’ve won the league tourney 3 of the last 6 times. When it was just the Big 8 we won in 86, but didn’t in any of the of the FF years of 88, 91, 93. So in our last 10 FF seasons, we’ve only won the league tournament 4 times. I guess you could conclude todays game is not that important.
But in my mind todays game is always most important no matter what the calendar reads.

Clearly to win the national championship todays game is a must win. Bill has lost in every final four he’s made and not won the big 12 tournament title.

Texas is 18-7 since Beard was suspended. Of course I think Beards team loses that many in the tough league.
@dylans Just pointing out todays game isn’t the best predictor of post season success.

Now I’m curious how many eventual national champions won their respective conference tournament title as well.

But I know that since I’ve been breathing Jayhawk Crimson and Blue they’ve won 3 national championships in years ending in 8 or 2, and should have won one in years ending in 3

I think we are in good shape today. This team just beat us a week ago, BS is having health issue and it’s for a trophy.

@wissox I’m still salty about 2020. Should’ve won 2003. Perry’s senior year as well. OAD tournament doesn’t crown the best team, just the hottest team with the most favorable matchups. Hope this team catches fire!

Something that bodes well for this team…
KU won their first two conference tournament games by double digits. When KU has done this the results are 2x S16, 2x FF, national champion. One of those S16s is the Arizona game too…

ACC tournament is ridiculously difficult from what I can tell. 1 ACC tournament win vs 5 national titles
SEC - 2 SEC titles vs 3 national titles
Big12 - 2 Big12 titles vs 3 national titles
Big East - 3 Big East titles vs 5 National titles

They gave a stat this Morning on ESPN. - -For KU this is our 16th Championship Big 12 tourney appearance. That’s TWICE as many as any other School in the Big 12 , Texas has EIGHT. - That is Dominance

@jayballer67 If Texas has 8 appearance then they have 7 losses. Random fact of the day - Texas is the only non-big 8 member to win the big12 so far.

We did lose to Texas with a @BShark game thread. Could be good mojo to get another option going!
