TCU Disaster

  • KU has looked like KU so far outside of two plays. A fake reverse where Daniels somehow hit Lassiter in stride for a 48 yard TD and then catching TCU off guard with an onside kick. Outside of TD pass, KU has -42 yards of offense thanks to a center that’s launched multiple snaps over Daniels head and several more where Daniels and MacVittie have had jump to retrieve the snap.

The defense has been torched on the ground and then 2 blown coverages have given TCU TE’s two scores where nobody was within 20 yards. And special teams has also given up another punt return for a TD.

24-6 TCU after the first quarter.

  • KU also started 6 true freshman on offense including 3 on the OLine including the center who keeps launching snaps. The other two are the LT and RG along with Daniels, Pesek-Hickson, and Grimm.

  • Nice Td pass! All I got

  • @Texas-Hawk-10 those snaps!🚀

  • Lol

  • Defense left the TE by himself again for another TD. 31-6 now.

  • Yay a 3rd down conversion

  • KU might have something with Pesek-Hickson at RB.

  • Tcu coverage is grabby

  • Miles Kendrick in at QB and moved KU down the field with ease and scored on 4 straight passes.

  • we got negative yards rushing at the half - -minus 8 BUT that his due to the high snaps that was mentioned. erase that and our RB has I think they said 9 carries for 61 yards pretty decent.

This defense is just sad -I think Elliot needs to go - -something has to happen . - we gotsome pieces but dam I just don’t know at this point

  • @jayballer67 How would you like Elliot to address all of the injury issues the defense has had this season? The line up KU is putting out there on both sides is probably one of the youngest line ups in the nation.

The biggest issues with the defense are inexperience and lack of size because of their youth. It takes time and defense has some nice pieces and this should in the next couple of season’s.

  • Miles Kendrick has looked really good tonight. This version of him tonight is the best any KU QB has looked all season.

  • Nice throw and td catch! And xtra pt catch

  • Did Kendrick get body snatched? This looks nothing like WVU Kendrick

  • Spoke to soon!

  • This post is deleted!

  • any one tell me where I can find the block option or ignore button here in conversations?

  • Looks like Baylor knocked off KSU on a last second FG to win by a point.

  • For those following KU football closely, what is the take on the program. I understand that Les is doing a reasonably good job with recruiting and that the re-build would be a 3-4 year project, however, based on how things have progressed in the 1st two years what is the general impression.

  • The Mad hatter is doing really good with his recruiting. - -however there are one’s one his staff that ummm not so much.

    38 pts - - - 47 - - -47 - - 38 - - 55 - - 52 - - -62 - - 59. Those are the defensive points allowed for each and every game for just an insanely 49.7 pts allowed per game. Elliot needs to GO PERIOD.

Yet we are suppose to sit back and sssssh because we have so many players hurt/COVID etc , and want to try and justify and make and use for excuse. -All I say is - -these other programs didn’t have players hurt ? - - these other programs don’t have players with COVID. - -Hell TCU had over 20 plus players that had been lost for the season because one reason or another. - -If that’s the case I’d hate to see what would of happened WITHOUT those players being hurt.

People don’t think that at other Universities that if your team is giving up an average of 50 points a game defensively for the Season 50 points per. - -People don’t think that their Defensive Coach/Cordinator isn’t taking any heat for that ? - - If your don’t then your a dam Looney Tune , Schools don’t pay Coach’s Thousands of Dollars a year only to have the team an go out and allow 50 points plus per game – - -His defense Sucks - - Hell it sucked when they were healthy, sure on once in a while they might make some plays BUT for the most part - - they got drilled.

Yet there are people that say and make excuses for this here at KU. There aren’t any excuses , it was this way last year - - it has been this way this year. - -They say well you want Elliot to come and explain why this is happening -then gives the excuse young , hurt and COVID. - - Well this team was Healthy and COVID hadn’t started showing up for the 1st 4 games of the Season, can’t tell me they were we were so much better lol - -we were only averaging giving up 43 points per game then defensively. - -I can dam well bet that if this is happening at other Schools and has been happening consistently like it is here - -I will tell you right here right now that Defensive Coach is getting roasted - no excuses these are P-5 players it is up to the Coach to develop - -Elliot needs to be Gone PERIOD.

Having said that I still feel Les has the guys coming in that is gonna change this around, his recruiting you can see the talent level is for sure better. - -our Biggest issues right now is our O-line & Our defensive Coach - -those can be fixed. We had problems and still do with the O-Line - you saw what happened to the O-line Coach - - -GONE, Les isn’t going to keep putting up with that Crap - - You can’t get better if you don’t have the mentor to help you get better. - - until we get a beter Coach in here for that, then we gonna suffer plain and simple. – rock chalk all day long baby

  • Left side weak side

  • I’m willing to give the whole staff at least one more year. No spring ball was a big deal for this team. True sophomore and younger have probably started 60ish games this year. I don’t care if the ghost of Bill Walsh is coaching them, it’s not going to be good. Lets get in a full spring and fall camp, let the guys develop, and see what happens. If we don’t look better in a year, then we can seriously consider making a change. I did like the changes along the OL. Clark isn’t a LT at all, so moving him back inside was the correct decision. We obviously really, really missed Hughes at C. But it’s good for the youngsters to get all those snaps.

  • @jayballer67 When you would have like Eliot to teach these players his system? During spring practice? Oh wait, we didn’t have a spring practice this year. During fall camp? Oh wait, that got stopped and started multiple times because of Covid, legislation, and the NCAA.

Opt outs, Covid, and injuries this season resulted in KU starting 5 guys on defense in their first or second year of college football including a couple of guys playing a different position last night.

These guys are inexperienced and limited in what they can do in practice because of Covid restrictions and there’s only so much film study and chalk boards can help with in learning schemes. Eventually players have to get on the field and actually practice to get the hang of what’s going on with these schemes and responsibilities.

When the DC is forced to play a lot of players before they’re ready to play or playing them out of position, and have limited practices because of Covid issues.

When a position group is isolated because of exposure, that also means you can’t run a full 11 on 11 drills at practice which also hurts development. I’m not a big DJ Eliot fan, but there’s so much stuff working against him this year that’s beyond his control.

There’s also a big difference between firing a position coach and firing a coordinator midseason because a position coach doesn’t affect the scheme a team runs. Firing Eliot also means having to teach a new defensive scheme mid season which would just make the defense even worse.

  • @FarmerJayhawk think guys will come back? Heard a weird story that prox had his kid and did want to expose him.

Look plain and simple , see if you can comprehend this I doubt but MAYBE you got your thoughts for whatever are they wrong probably but there your thoughts good for you. you like making excuses - -GREAT you run with that. Let’s see he could of instilled this like oh I dunno - - LAST SEASON. - -not all these kids are freshmen as you wanna make them out to be. - We have Seniors blowing coverage and guys catching touchdown passes with no defenders within 10 yards of them more then once - that are Seniors - - Mayberry is perfect example. There are players that are upper classmen that play like crap out of position to make plays that’s on your defense , and if that’s a position Coach or whatever - -they need to be held responsible for that. – Very easily could of - -should of as you say taught these players LAST season.

Oh wait - - maybe he did - - maybe they just slow learners, ya thats it. - Look I’m not wasting my time getting into a pissing contest with you over this. You got what ever the hell you think , I got mine that’s that. - -Your a guiy that likes to make excuses - - you take and run with that. I am not buying it. I’m not asking for this defense if that’s what you call it - -I’m not asking them to move Mountains - -just a mole hill – little ol mole hill - - show us SOMETHING - -ANYTHING. - -

Opposition RB’s are running through our Defensive line making holes a 98 year old man in a wheelchair could gain 10 yards a touch - -it’s beyond pathetic - hell I could see where a down even 2 maybe just got beat - -but this constant - -but again you hang onto that theory - -Good for you - others aren’t buying it take your sales pitch some where else - -ELLIOT SHOULD BE GONE PERIOD.

All schools have had COVID issues , ALL schools have had players that weren’t ready having to play and a lot of them out of position - a lot of Schools have had limited film study, - like I said I’m done with you on this - -find your debate on things some where else I’m not buying the BS thanks - -have a great day
