Ok so here is a Question on this boring day
-
Question , Looking to see in your opinion in the Modern Era who is the past Jayhawk that has had the most impact in the NBA ? To me pretty dam easy choice it HAS to be the Truth ( Paul ) hands down, this guy was a absolute stud in the NBA. - Future Hall of Famer NBA Champion ,now the all time best probably still has to be Wilt. Yet for the modern Era - -HAS to be Paul/ - Tell me who you think. - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
If we are considering modern era to be after 1980, then Pierce is absolutely the choice. Best overall KU player at the pro level, a legitimate all time type of career. Paul Pierce is really the only true pro superstar that KU has produced in the last 40 years (jury is still out on if Embiid stays healthy enough for long enough).
-
Paul Pierce is the best by a mile. Danny would probably be #2. Hinrich and Collison are probably in that next group. Of Bill Self era Jayhawks, it has to one of the Morris Twins. Wiggins is in the discussion, Graham looks like he could enter the discussion if this season isn’t a one hit wonder. McLemore finally found his fit here in Houston.
I know Sasha Kaun won a championship, but that was near the end of his career and he didn’t really play a big role on that Cavs team.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 you left out Embiid though
-
I think Mario was the only Jayhawk other than Pierce to win a championship as a starter in the NBA modern era (Sasha got a ring in Cleveland as a deep bench guy). That should count for something.
-
As an aside Frank put up a nice stat line for the Bucks in extended minutes the other night (!)

I agree my friend - -Jo Jo has a very good chance, you know I don’t understand Philly they have the talent just trying to figure what they missing. - - Doesn’t help with Simmons out

My school started classes on Monday with only 7 days of in service prep. I’m lucky that post was as coherent as it was, lol!
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 you in person or virtual? I can’t remember if you said. Good luck. I’m sure it’s going to be a rollercoaster.
-
@approxinfinity Virtual for now. Parents who picked in person for their kids starts after Labor Day and then I will have in person and virtual and will be even more exhausted. Virtual requires a lot more time than in person and a lot of people don’t realize that.
-
@Texas-Hawk-10 I know! People think they sit home on their butts. It’s harder, especially for grade school. Then having to do both. Teachers care so much for their kids and vice versa. It breaks my heart to hear their stories. Our school is still giving lunches out. We don’t start till sept 3.
