Boston Brickmasons are getting spanked

  • Celtics starting line up made 3 baskets in the first half. Down 55-35 to Phoenix. This would be their third straight loss.

  • They pulled it out.

  • Houston looks terrible so far this year as well

  • Jackson only played 5 minutes last night, 7 the game before. Certainly not trending in the right direction for him

  • Wiggins shooting near 40% from 3 so far. He’s still one of the laziest players in the league but its good to see his shooting numbers becoming respectable

Wiggins is a tremendous athlete, but only an average basketball player. What I mean by that is that his overall basketball skills are fairly pedestrian.

He’s a good, but not great shooter, owing probably more to his athleticism than actual skill. He’s not a great ball handler. He’s not as good a defender as his physical tools suggest he should be.

Everything Wiggins does is a testament to his athleticism. He’s worked to improve his athleticism, but he hasn’t become tremendously skilled in the process.

I think that is why Jimmy Butler became so frustrated with him. Wiggins is probably one of the 4 or 5 best athletes in the NBA, but he’s not even a top 35 player in the league.

  • @justanotherfan

    Good stuff

I’ll add, he’s a terrible rebounder and defender in the NBA for his size/athletic ability. Statistics back this up as well. He’s also not much of a passer either but I get that’s not his role.

Watched him the other night and I’m just shocked at his lack of effort in certain area’s.

He’s a crazy athlete and his shot has definitely improved a great deal but he just doesn’t impact the game overall, certainly not enough to be worth the contract he just signed

  • @justanotherfan Thats some of the that drove me nuts while he was here. If he wasn’t just collecting a pay check in the league, he could be a great defender and rebounder. He’s just good enough that he will stick around for a long time but won’t put forth the work to get to a super star.

  • Marcus with key 3 point to tie in regulation. The twins are having a good year, not really super stars but solid rotation players.

Interesting stats for Josh. 5 minutes 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 turnovers and 2 fouls.

  • @JayHawkFanToo Yeah. I don’t get it… Granted these are mostly losses, but check out the end of lass season for JJ. Was he really bad and the stats don’t tell the tale? Does he have an attitude this year? Are the other guys on the team that are ahead of him in the rotation legit better than him? It feels like somethign doesnt add up.

  • @approxinfinity

Completely new coaching staff with a Russian HC and with staff with little NBA coaching experience.

  • Monster game for Embiid. 42 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks in OT game against Charlotte; 16 points in the fourth quarter, 14 of 16 from the FT line in the 4th quarter and OT.

  • @JayHawkFanToo It was right there for me…I go with WCS to save salary, and shoulda went with Embiid. I was even watching the game against MSU again as I was setting my FanDuel lineups, and Joel was right there, plain as day…sick.

  • I wouldn’t be surprised if the Suns try and trade Josh. It’s pretty clear what the new coaching staff thinks of him. Hopefully for his sake he does get traded. He needs a fresh start. He also needs to work on his shot and game. He’s been a huge disappointment so far though.

  • Btw Rodney Mcgruder is a legit NBA rotation guy.

  • @approxinfinity

Yes, McGruder has progressed nicely and he is now a starter and solid rotation player but he is in his 6th year in the League. Usually it takes years to get there and only the very top prospects start and star early.

  • @approxinfinity He’s been a good daily fantasy player for me. His salary was nothing for weeks, and he regularly hit 5,6, 7 times value. Now that the cats out of the bag, his salary is up, and his numbers are down.

  • Speaking of fantasy, I’m deeply split whether Mo Bamba will be able to bust out this year or not. In limited minutes he’s showed flashes of brilliance (scoring 15 in back to back games before laying an egg last night), but he’s not getting more than about 18 minutes a night, and is foul prone.

  • My goodness I just watched some of the Charlotte vs Cleveland game. Talk about bad basketball, I was just watching for DG and he did get into the for a few minutes to miss a couple of 3s. After watching I have no idea how Charlotte is 7-7, Cleveland got their second win of the season (2-11). It was literally a contest of who could throw up,the worst shot.

  • @kjayhawks I did hear them say it was their only good game of the season.
