Angels v Royals--Game 3
-
Sweet win-I was happy they showed Bill Self happy in the crowd.
George Brett was,REALLY HAPPY to see them win. Go Royals.
-
@globaljaybird I would’ve thought he’d be up in a special suite. Good to see him in the stands with the common folks.
-
Okay, we having network problems or am I having Charter problems?
-
@brooksmd she’s singing!!!
-
-
@brooksmd I hope they’re sandbagging on that fifth of whoopass, Friday is the next leg & they’ll need it. HCBS is taking first hand notes.
-
@globaljaybird do we play during late night?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 @globaljaybird All I know is da Mick never wore goggles. What a bunch of wussies.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Eastern zone is an hour earlier. Likely 8:00 pm start time if I had to guess.
-
Unless they stream LN won’t make any difference for me.
-
@brooksmd Makes me think of M & M boys,Mick was a tough ass Okie like Self.
-
@globaljaybird Yeah, back in the day when KC A’s were the Yankees farm team. Used to really p*** me off the players the A’s sent to NY.
-
I’m starting to enjoy baseball, again…haven’t watched much in the last 29 yrs!
-
@globaljaybird late pm might be different!
-
@brooksmd awesome!
-
I like the stat showing Royals took season series from the O’s. Hope the guys look at it as yes we can and not as a sure thing. They need the same pitching, hustle and basic fundamentals to beat the O’s.
-
@brooksmd I can remember Howser & Mantle both playing for the A’s at Municipal. Both won rings in NY & Dick returned for glory & Calvary. 1st year the Royals played there I watched Sweet Lou Pinella play there & win rookie of the year & get traded to the Yanks the very next spring. My deceased future bro in law had sno white hair when we were 19 yrs old & he bought the beer & down in the right field GA & we helped him drink it. No one else was out there & not a soul cared cause it was like buz as usual-Yankees farm team.
-
@brooksmd I think they have a chip but not yet the feeling. Should be OK.
-
@brooksmd So how’s that Crown?!
-
@globaljaybird But Kansas had 3.2 and 18 was legal wasn’t it? Great to see the guys out inter-acting with the fans. Makes the fans happy.
-
@globaljaybird I’d love to hear more-please elaborate further.
-
@globaljaybird Just finished bottle of wine I opened for dinner and will now get one of my special “Don’t Tread On Me” lazer engraved whiskey glasses, some rocks and some Crown Monarch 75th. Cheers!!!
-
@brooksmd Yeah but the stadium was at 22nd & Brooklyn in KCMO-5% & 21 rules.
-
@brooksmd Life is good friend-enjoy! Have had a couple of nighties of Henessy myself. Damn that smooth !! Work at 9:00a, so it off to the sack after a quick Swisher. Have another one even better than today.
-
@globaljaybird Didn’t know that. Dad was a career Navy man so we never spent much time in Topeka where all the family lived. Had to follow the A’s most of the time from Great Lakes NTC, IL or elsewhere. How do I post a photo?
-
@JayhawkRock78 Lou was one of the first local sports guys to open B & G’s here in the metro. His were called Lou Pinellas Longbranch Saloons. Had one in Overland Park & another in Lenexa. Used to meet the wife for lunch there often in the 80’s when I worked 2nd shift.
-
-
@brooksmd You’re asking the wrong old timer .Tell me? I took 50 pics today + video. Couple of pics of that Henessy too. Tried to get Gordons ride right after the Nascar template inspection when the crew pushed it out thru the garage area by hand but there were tons of people & tough to get thru the crowd. Face it, he’s popular. Truth is know just enough tech to be dangerous?. LOL
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Sweet!
-
@globaljaybird when you open the text box to type there is a bar above with: B I and other symbols including one that looks like a picture next to the question mark. That’s the one to hit to add a photo. Since I’m on my iPad it opened my photo’s so all I had to do was touch the one to add. If you used a camera I would guess you’d dump photos onto your computer first.

@globaljaybird My first job outta hs was a bartender in a 3.2 KS tavern.
-
@globaljaybird My first couple of assignments in the AF were mountain top radar sites and I bartended part-time. My second one was Stephenville, Newfoundland and we hosted some deal for the local RCMP’s one night and I was tending that night. At closing time the commander asked me if I would open the officers bar and keep the party going. Said they would either pay me or I could drink on the house. Well, being young and full of p!$$ I went for the drinking on the house. Damn those Mounties could drink. It was days before I was back to normal.
-
@brooksmd And hangovers hurt a lot more now than they used to
-
@globaljaybird and they should!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Come on crimson, have some compassion for senior citizens.
-
@brooksmd ha ha sorry!!! No can do!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Pleeeeeeze??!!
-
This years playoff series is going to be great. I’m pumped to see someone other than NY or Bos in it. As a White Sox fan, I’ve always been kind of against the Royals, but more because they’re division rivals, than like they’re a KU-misery thing. Since I don’t have the overpriced mlb package I’ve rarely seen the Royals play because, you know, the networks show east coast teams. So it’s been kind of a revelation of how exciting this team has been to watch. I do like Baltimore, they’re a really exciting team as well. Should be a great classic matchup of power v. speed.
-
@wissoxfan83 +100
Small ballpark so the 3 metrics for successful play off performance are in place for KC.
1-Good starting pitching. Not critical to give up dingers aslong as theyre solo shots. 2-3 runs allowed is sufficient as long as that’s it.
2-A shut down bullpen. We’ve got it.
3-Tremendous defense. Now the whole country knows about it. 3-4 Gold Glove starters plus Cain & Aioke. When LC made the back to backers in the clincher, all I could say was WOW !!
And since Camden Yard is small, we can get the big fly too. I really, really like KC’s chances. This very well could be an instant classic.
-
@globaljaybird I am stoked! Thanks for info! I get late pm at 11:00, but can watch it on my iPad on espn3. during royals.
-
@globaljaybird I’ve feared your bullpen for years. I didn’t heard of Davis until last week, looked up his stats and wowsa! There’s some arms out there!
-
Davis was a starter here last year but worked the pen in Tampa. Didn’t do so well as stater but has 98 mph heat Plus change, slider, & real nasty uncle charlie. As we know well some just whiff time& again on a curve. Salvy & Moose are examples.

Think this would help Coach Self?
