Anybody been watching the miniseries on ESPN2? Some interesting stories so far.
Unfortunately, the longest segment about KU was the one on the 1957 NCAA final vs.Carolina.
Interesting how the show critized Coach Harp for holding the ball in the final overtime instead of going inside to Wilt, even though he was being double- and triple-teamed.
Besides the segments on Wilt, they also showed a brief clip of Lynette Woodard joining the Globetrotters. Theiy’re airing more episodes tonight.

Okay, now I’m happy…they finally got around to doing a few minutes on the 1987-88 team, with the emphasis on Larry Brown and Danny Manning (and rightfully so, though I would’ve liked to see a bit more about the surrounding cast).

I missed it. I saw it on the guide, scrolled through wondering if I should DVR anything but nothing was mentioned about KU so I decided I’d skip it. So much to watch just didn’t want to waste time watching non KU stuff.

@nwhawkfan I saw part of an episode tonight and East Coast bias loud and proud even here. When they began talking about coaching they jumped right to great NY and east coaches of the 40’s and 50’s. Then they made a VERY brief mention of, in this order, Iba, Allen, and Rupp. How do you not lead rhe coaching history with the Father of Basketball coaching? I turned the channel.

@Fightsongwriter They talked about Naismith in the first episode, replayed earlier last night. It included an excerpt from that radio interview with Gabriel Heatter where he talked about coming up with the original rules.
You’re right about the East Coast bias, but not too surprising when you consider that the national media in the Fifties and Sixties were even more concentrated in the East than they are today. Also, those college basketball doubleheaders at Madison Square Garden back then were huge draws, as was the NIT, which for a while was considered a bigger tournament than the NCAA.
