Great call. Another tip-off is “yes” is two syllables. When I first moved here I refused to,say “ya’ll”. The second move here included my children and they picked it up,in school fairly soon so I bought into it.
Houston’s regional population has almost doubled the past 7 years so you don’t hear think southern accents so often these days. It’s been a long time since I’ve heard anyone tell me they were "fixin’ to do something.

I’m not sure-the way I remember it there was a lot of stress and they the doctors thought he should get away from the NBA. But then again I may be having memory issues.

The picture on the right of Chamberlain is iconic. It should be the NBA logo. He was an remains the greatest athletic freak on the planet in human history. HE was a demigod in sneakers. He was original. He beyond awesome. He redefined what was possible for a human being.

Okay-read a bit more on this. As a player he knew about a heart valve issue and went in for ANOTHER issue, and things went south quickly and they had to scramble to put in a pacemaker-the last procedure was to put in batteries.

Thanks so much. We are a KU/KSU family but 800 miles away. It is really a LONG way from home- but it’s nice for him to have in his back pocket and plane trips could be a lot easier to justify now. We put some effort to involve KU in the process including visits and a summer camp there. Nice to believe they took us/my son seriously.
I am thinking we have a better than 50% chance another Jayhawk will be in our family.

@jaybate-1.0 Damn jb where were you back in early 90’s when my wife was in the nursing program at Washburn and I, who had no knowledge of statistics, had to decipher and get her through it. Could’ve used your help. Especially since I was working swing shift so when I got home all I wanted was some quiet time, a cold 6 pack and Sportscenter.

Any man that will help a woman through statistics without knowing statistics himself is an absolute man, and must, with a 95% confidence interval be viewed by her as an exceptional lover, as well as a life saver. So, how did Naadir do in the NCAA last year? And, how did EJ do in the tournament the year before? Experience is great to have, but talent is better.
