LaVar , LaVar , LaVar - - Damn
-
@DoubleDD Well, I just read that between last Friday and this Wednesday Big Baller Brand gleaned over 13 million dollars of free advertising, thanks to Donald Trump’s rants. Regardless of the criminal stuff which led to this feud, such statistics are mighty damned amusing. LaVar seems to possess an instinct for marketing. When he brayed about his personal hoops superiority to Michael Jordan, I scratched my old hairless pate and mumbled to myself, “What an idiot!” Now I better understand the guy. I think he has out-Trumped the Trumper. (On the other hand, I think his kid and cohorts should have served a few weeks of hard time before departing China. They embodied a light touch of what the world is viewing in regards to Ugly America.)
-
…and I would not find myself at all surprised to find in a few months the amusing revelation that The Donald and Family have invested a significant holding in Big Baller Brand. Heck, those two guys could plumb this marketing bonanza for several months, if not years.
-
@REHawk Trump is generally believed to not be interested in investing in brand names other than his own.
I think he is more likely to tweet, after this 13 mil news, that Big Baller should pay him for the publicity.
Then the usual media hoopla will ensue, he will be accused by some as attempting to obtain compensation for performing an act as President (talking to a foreign leader), La Var will get the chance to appear more stupid than he is already, Twitter will go aflame even more, Trump will be cleared by a First Amendment analysis by the ACLU, he will get in trouble yet again for insulting the ACLU even after they helped him, and really by then no one will give a crap because worse will happen in the meantime.
-
Well if big baller is making money of the the feud of Lavar and Trump?
I’m pretty sure it’s persons that Hate trump. Persons that are willing to overlook that a kid stole some highend stuff in a foreign country.
A country that doesn’t hold our views on stealing stuff.
I get it no big deal, Yet in China it’s a big deal. Trump doesn’t step in? Who knows what happens?
Just like when Obama didn’t step in on the Otto kid. Even though American taxpayers pay North Korea More than they deserve.
-
You know you can always vote him out? Maybe this next election you can a dem prepresenative to actually visits certain states instead of taking them for granted?
-
@DoubleDD No one said they are making money off it, only that they got free publicity. Just as the media was analyzed as having given the Donald millions of dollars worth of attention for free in the election by covering and endlessly discussing every utterance, glance, tweet, or movement he made even before he announced.
There is a reason both he and LaVar are considered to be marketing geniuses.
-
@DoubleDD So can you. We can work together on this.
-
Um The president is a multi billionaire. Lavar is trying to make hey off his children?
Yet somehow Lavar is a gensis? Seems more like a scam bag to me.
His kid just got caught stealing in a foreign country that doesn’t recognize our laws. If it was me I would be grateful that the president dem/Rep stepped in to help my kid.
Yet it’s Trump so forget that.
-
@DoubleDD Look, give it a rest. You are always looking for fights. Would you please notice that I originally said I agree with the Donald about La Var?

NOt me I’m going to vote for him again. You people are nuts. Obamacare sucks. We gave billions of tax payers monies to a country that wants to wipe American of the face of the earth. We had the dem Party sell Uranium to Russia? You know the country that affected our recent elections?
The old saying if you do what you have always done expecting a different result? Yes it’s time of change.
YOur smart guy Trump may not be the person. Yet maybe he burns enough bridges that we and I mean we Americans finally get a Preisident we want.
-
I have Obamacare.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 “I have Obamacare.”
Unfortunately, hundreds of politicians (congressmen and senators and the Prez) who think that that fact is a failure.

I’m not picking any fights. Just answer the call to those that want the same old same old. That want to take pot shots like somehow they know or are better. Yet they never want to shine the light on the party they LIke. Spare me.
Acting like the American people want more of the Clinton Family, and yes even Obama? See the last election? UM unless you live in New York or Cali?? UMMM
I just want to talk KU basketball.

Really? Come on Judge? You know Obamacare has failed. really?
Expecting the youth to pay for coverage they don’t need? And punishing those that already have healthcare?
How many states and counties don’t even have the option?
I get the heart was in the right place. Yet come on?
-
@DoubleDD Atta boy! Rock Chalk Jayhawk!!!
-
I see you have no real legit stance. Just bash Trump.
I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. As your a great poster.
Yet come on tell me you’re not waiting for the breaking news special that Trumps fart don’t smell like Mexican food.
so he must be a racist.

@mayjay Shucks, for all we know, The Donald might actually own the controlling interest in BBB. Just be using this guy LaVar and his talented offspring as a marketing tool to sell those $495.00 sneakers to kids who thrive at the game of hoops; folks who would not otherwise be inclined to buy from a rare political icon who denigrates their sports stars. We are living in shady times, turmoil on the roll. But the big boys proceed with the clocking of dollars.

really think Trump is with Lavar? OK
-
Me myself the bigger issue is why are all these politicians coming out doing terrible things to women.
But hey we can talk Lavar and Trump making money together?
-
And being endorsed
-
@DoubleDD Men have been doing terrible things to women for years.
Years ago, no one listened to any complaints (“he said, she said”). Last year, one was facing a trial (hung jury) while someone else who bragged about it got elected President. The first was progress, comparatively.
This year, many men are losing their jobs. Much greater progress.
Why did it take a year to make a difference to you?

It’s a good point. Yet isn’t a person innocent until found guilty?
Me personally I think he’s guilty. Yet Our certain government structure won’t allow us to get the bottom of it.
Do know the rep party has pulled all funding on him.
A hit piece? I don’t think so. I think he’s guilty. Yet how do you feel about old chuck? Does he get a free pass?

And I bet you had know problem with Bill Clinton? LOL
-
@DoubleDD Yes.
-
Then why did your party spend so much time protecting him. Until now? After all these years now the Dem party ponies up says yea OLd Bill got a free pass?
-
What took so long. And why all the hate to Trump for merely speech. As we all now he is a blowhard. Yet when you had and actually president that did the deed. The dem party did nothing?
-
Out. Into the realm of fantasy.
-
You want a different president? OK tell me who we should vote for? Talk to me.

Um it wasn’t the Dems that impeached old Bill. Yea it was the Reps.

@DoubleDD Aw, I am just clowning. Falling into the spirit of the two guys who are waging this idle feud. They both possess unbelievably acute marketing instincts. And yeah, I suppose that I am something of a Trump basher. I wasn’t too keen on Hillary, but I did and do think that she bore the experience and know-how to move the country forward. But the legislative branch would probably have curbed her actions even more than they have curbed Trump’s. These bipartisan standoffs have become a nightmare for the USA. And the republicans are like two different parties within their own ranks. So, we as a nation are probably much better off with Trump’s forays into sports feuds and the waging of small personal battles than his focus on stirring up furor of N. Korea. I worry that my grandchildren will get caught up in military horrors of his making. In the meantime, I try to stay on the upbeat, amused by our president’s less deadly or less costly tweets. The guy is indeed a CHARACTER. Very scary, however. He now stands chest deep in “the swamp.” Gotta move his feet slowly or is likely to sink past his nose into the mire, some of which he has created. LaVar Ball will continue to bait him, trying to milk every bit of free advertising available. Ball’s jabbing NBA hoops stars like Curry, Jordan and James has gleaned not nearly so much attention as the Trump goads. I really do see the guy as a marketing genius.
-
Thank you for thurthfullness. I think I’m going to bow out of the conversation/debate. As I feel I think I’ve over stepped my boundaries.
I don’t want to hurt anybody. Just pointing that bad things happen on both sides of the aisle.
I agree Trump should just keep his mouth shut. He tweets to much.
Causes him to much problems.

Damn , look what I went and done. - When I started this thread , I had no idea that I would start issues within our own Jayhawk Nation. Sorry.
that was not what I was trying to get going with the whole issue with President and Ball - -NOW if Ball was to see what has happened here he would be very happy - -he is getting even MORE attention whether it be positive or Negative this little B - - - - thrives on that.
Jayhawk Nation will not succumb to Daddy Ball - we unite - this is Jayhawk Nation. - -how they say it - -divided we fall - - United we Stand - -well guess what Daddy Ball, you can have your little bickering sessions with Trump but your not dragging me and my friends into your BS anymore - -Right guys? - -Sorry just my really feeble attempt for humor this morning. - -just remember - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

FWIW, apparently the kids stole not from one or two but three different luxury stores and they have it all on security tape. Had the President not intervened, which I still think he should not have, they were facing up to 10 years in jail, and I don’t mean the luxury hotel where they were temporarily detained. Safe to say that if mid-Ball or the other 2 players do not make it to the NBA, China is out of the question; stupid way to cut your options.
