Royals vs BoSox -- Game 1
-
@Crimsonorblue22 & @brooksmd This guy has history in KC & not that many years ago. Although he is a pretty well established hitter that switches, I’m really surprised DM brought MC back from a clubhouse standpoint. Possible maybe the guys were asked ahead of the move? . Has suspension plus when Royals/Sox had the Sales/Smardja/Ventura issues a couple years ago; big mouth shootin, knockdowns, etc., MC ruffled quite a few KC feathers himself. I’d be surprised if he’s welcomed with completely open arms. Also doubt he’s on Moose’s Christmas card list, but winning a pennant could change all that. Surely Gordo won’t just roll over & play dead & give up his job without resistance, ya think ? Is possible this move could light some fires, maybe good or maybe not so good. He is a FA after 2017 so I just figure it as a nightly rental for the short term. Hope it doesn’t back fire.
I still think their BP could use more upgrades … SORRY-A !? Minor had so many wild pitches the other night in the 10th I lost count. But I’d still put that loss on Yost for putting all the eggs in one basket by pinch running Gore for Salvy & putting Butera behind the plate afterwards. I told the boy it could very well bite their ass when Gore was thrown out stealing & it damn sure did.
-
@globaljaybird Gotta give Butera credit though he gave up the body to keep that bad throw from Whit to Hoz from getting away. All round I don’t know if we could have a better backup for Salvy. But both sides were throwing in the dirt and it came down to which pitcher could do it better. Minor won but we lost.
-
@globaljaybird I only thought Ned screwed up in that game by not going ahead and walking the batter when that last wild pitch was thrown, which had put runners on 2nd and 3rd with only one out. You saw the result of the infield pulled in: perfect dbl play grounder Esky had to lunge at and throw to first while seated, then an attempt to get a throw home in time.
There was the same situation earlier in the game, and we got away with it, but over time, you handicap your defense when you pull the infield in. Routine ground balls become rbi FC’s, and you never have an easy double play.
-
@mayjay I also said something to my son abt that cause Ned had just walked a batter earlier to set the force up at 3rd. The runs at 2nd & 1st would’ve meant absolutely nothing. So then when he didn’t walk to set the force at the plate I thought WTH? But that’s just Ned though-He’s clearly a different bird. Lotsa fans wanted him gone in 12, 13, & early 2014. I mean lots…
-
Can we use a DH for Gordo? Watches the good ones and flails at crap.
-
Should’ve benched him and played Boni.
-
So everyone is talking about football and head injuries, what about chewing tobacco and baseball? Doesn’t it seem odd that it hasn’t been banned?
-
Hud asked melky if he could hug him.
-
-
@Crimsonorblue22 It has, in all ballparks where tobacco use is totally banned. No exceptions for the players.
At least, that’s what they said would happen…
-
And they blow an opportunity as Boston was beating Cleveland 5-0.
-
@mayjay Don’t those ballparks have smoking areas?
-
Besides that, last year’s new CBA banned smokeless tobacco use by all rookies and anyone coming into the league in the future.
I think lots of places that prohibit smoking don’t prohibit chewing. The don’t usually have smoking areas. SF , I think, bans it all.
-
So disgusting
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Was supposedly banned several years ago but not enforced.
-
So we ban tobacco use to protect our children but go full speed killing those children in the womb. If BC is provided by Bozocare and thousands of free women’s health facilities, why do we need abortion except for instances like rape or mothers health? Sorry, I know this doesn’t belong here. I’ll shut up and quietly leave. ttfn
-
@brooksmd I realize the topic incites you, but it is unfair to post a rant, then agree it shouldn’t be there. You get your say while giving only lip service to the inappropriateness of interjecting it.
-
@brooksmd S-ooooo … WTH can we do with SORRY-A ? Keep for mop up ? Ned sounds like a peckerwood if I ever heard one. “Jack did a good job…”
-
@globaljaybird Should have signed Holland.
-
@mayjay Maybe so bro, but we all have our peeves & is perfectly OK to give a friend a pass now & then. Been known to need one myself now & then- right @Crimsonorblue22 ?
-
Duffy needs to shave his “squirrel head” … It IS NOT fashionable!
-
@globaljaybird to many to count!! Have to keep u in line.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Thanks Mom !
-
-
Melky wasn’t to impressive.
-
@mayjay Agree but already paying SORRY A 10 million a year so no left for GH …

Needs to stepn’fetchit damn quick …
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Wasn’t much impressive up an down the lineup. Don’t put it all on Melky.
-
@mayjay I believe that is the case in San Fran.
-
Soria had a good start to the season but lately he has been faltering, seems his confidence is down. Can he be sent to minors? I’d rather see Kevin M in his place. He was throwing the ball well.
-
To nite Salvy an Moose 0-3, Gordo an Torres 0-2, team RISP 0-4. Three games in Baltimore starting to look like we should’ve dumped instead of bought.
-
Moose being bother by fluid on the back of his leg from bruise by hit from pitch.
-
That’s the same ump that tossed Cain isn’t it? Doesn’t know a strike zone from a no parking zone.
-
How he could call a pitch at Mooses ankles a strike is beyond me. I think the whole team should’ve gone out an got tossed.
-
@brooksmd needs to go save another life!
-
Who’s pitching sat?
-
Most teams one or two players go into a hitting funk. The Royals whole team goes into a funk.
-
Cleveland rained out?
-
U watch KU game?
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Tried to but gbaby kept me busy . I’ll watch replay later.
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Missed golden opportunity with Clev losing 2 in a row an RO tonite. With better hitting we could’ve been half game in first vs 2.5 out of first. Duff on Sat.
