CUBS vs TRIBE Game 6 Do or Die
-
Stupid baserunning.
-
Andre Dawson would have thrown a perfect strike, but that was still a nice damn throw by Heyward.
-
@DanR On the damn fly too.
-
@brooksmd Francona didn’t look pleased about that flub.
-
@DanR Loved the Hawk when he was a Cub. Class all the way. Signed a blank contract with the Cubs just to get off artificial turf in Montreal and on real grass in Chicago for his knees.
-
Old guys like to strut when they’re pissed… some of us that’s all w can do anymore…
-
All right, guys. One more W.
-
If Maddon cares, Ross HAS to start tmrw nite behind the plate. I don’t care if he’s pulled after one inning, but he has to start.
-
Hell with it…ROCK CHALK CUBS!!!
-
@brooksmd Early start tomorrow?
-
Go Cubs Go, Go Cubs Go, hey Chicago whata ya say, Cubs are going to win today.
-
@globaljaybird Do hot bats and the big mo mean anything against Kluber?
-
@brooksmd Moneyball game 7 & Klubers stats show he’s even tougher on teams the 3rd time he faces them…but those stats are not confined to a 10 day period… I like the Cubs hot bats. Ol man Wrigley musta bribed JOBU , ya think ?
-
Nice they do that gig the way they do but need to block the crowd noise a little so we can hear the talking heads.
-
@brooksmd We may have a lurker…
-
Or maybe he just fell asleep online …
-
@globaljaybird You talking about @VailHawk ?
-
@brooksmd Yep
-
This business of having a second team. Ya’ll were rightfully gungho last year for the Royals and now you’re acting like you’re life long die hard Cub fans. Geez, make up your mind!
Go Jayhawks…(.And Badgers!)
-
@wissoxfan83 I’ve told my story. Back in the day of the KC A’s I couldn’t stand what appeared to me to be basically a major league farm team for the Yanks. I’ve always been a Cub fan and when the Royals came along just added them also. But also back in the day I supported the Sox. Can still remember being allowed to stay up late to watch the game against the Tribe that clinched the AL title in 1959. Then the Sox got spanked by the Dodgers. Aparicio/Fox were a heck of a combo. But one can have more than one favorite.
-
Wait, is this the same guy we all joined with to cheer on his badgers a couple years ago? If I recall correctly he certainly didn’t complain about it. Maybe he suffers from CRS.

And LSU Tigers too, right?
Don’t worry, I get it. I grew up in NW Illinois (life-long cub/bears/bulls/Illini fan), but I’ve moved around enough to follow and root for a few other local teams… as long as they weren’t in the same conference or league.

Good stuff pops, you tell em. That 59’ series was played about a month after I lost my Dad.& then his Dad passed the week after that WS ended. Big Ted Klezewski, Duke Snyder, Nellie & Louie, Early Winn, Larry Sherry-man now that’s a who’s who for sure . I can even recall ole Mel Allen with the call on my little “Monkey Wards” transistor ? Some of these young whippersnappers think we just got off the turnip truck but like my Dad used to say “Hell boy, I been farther around the outhouse lookin for the handle than you been on a train…”
-
@globaljaybird Your Dad and his witticisms. The man had an amazing way with words.
-
@brooksmd Why thank you kind sir- Though sometimes he did get a might salty.
-
@DanR No, haven’t become an LSU fan, although I’ve pretended so that I can score some tickets for football games!
-
@brooksmd Yes, I intentionally added the irony of my dual allegiance in hoops, and you know the FU thing was going on my post in response to you, right?
-
@wissoxfan83 Missed that. Not unusual for this old man.
-
@wissoxfan83 Dude, you have an LSU T-shirt. Kid at school there. You posted a pic in another thread. Were full-blown Simmons fanboy all last year. Own it.
-
@DanR The LSU shirt is just an LSU Dad shirt! I can’t pick up another team to cheer for. My life is complicated enough! I did enjoy going and watching Simmons, true, but not sure I’d call me a full blown fan boy!
