  @Kcmatt7 agreed, but I honestly like the potential tournament path as a 6 seed better. I think the difference between the average 2 seed and the average 1 seed outweighs the benefits of potentially getting a 4 vs 3 seed matchup in the 2nd round. Gives one more round for the region’s 1 seed to potentially get upset before we would potentially see them too. Will be a different march for us either way as any of a 5-7 seed would be underseeded per advanced metrics and I can’t remember the last time that has happened for KU.

  Our identity is mostly throw the ball inside to Hunter. That’s not altogether bad, but, with that strategy we cannot give up lots of 3s to a team because the math isn’t in our favor. The 2 identities that I’d most like to see change starting immediately are 1) the ability to withstand a push by a team and come back from a deficit in the game, take the lead and hold it to the end, and 2) finish the halves – that is, execute flawlessly in the final 1-2 minutes and come out even or ahead of where we were at the under 4 timeout.

  This team’s transfers are really lucky because at least one of them is always going to be on the floor and with the green light on. The most complete player is Rylan who shoots 35.1% on trey’s, can make some steals and pass and defend. Coit brings the energy dishes the ball and shoots 39.3% from deep. Storr is running out of time to make his mark on the team but I keep seeing him do things that catch my attention like a tough rebound or a really nice move on offense to score but has that detachment and he doesn’t dog it anymore. They are all in the 6 PPG area with a few instances several points higher than average. To have any real success in the afterlife we need more don’t you think.

  @bskeet I think the answer is all of the above. We looked much better earlier in the season to me. It was like the Mizzou game broke us in a lot of ways. MSU to me maybe the most improved team in CBB this season. From unranked and thought to be mid B10 level to a top 10 team. The ACC and B10 are down this season from what I’ve seen of them. The Sec has looked far and away the best conference but I’d almost put the Big East at #2 right right and the B12 #3.

  Maybe these guys can come out now at the end of the Season and just play loose— play free, might be what they need. -Just go out and play— play free-- loose. If you go on a winning streak-- Great surprise people , let the doubters doubt. And if you lose- -you lose, nobody at this point is expecting you to do anything anyways so there you go.   @jay4ever Agree about Storr 100 % his feet should NEVER , EVER step foot on the court here again for one minute , he has been given many chances but as soon as he steps on the floor he is an instant turnover or a Black hole- give those minutes to a meaningful player

  Agreed that not all of it falls on Hunter. Honestly my bigger complaint with him is how much his energy level can vary from game to game. When you know the level a player can get to, it becomes more glaring when they fall short of that. And yeah idk why we aren’t running some of the post plays we used to. While limited overall as an offensive player, Landen was at least above average at getting post positions and clearing lanes for Frank to get to the basket. Maybe we don’t run these plays because we don’t have any natural drivers on this team that can take advantage of that? Part of it could also be that the team doesn’t seem to excel at passing into the post or it is too crowded with KJ playing. I haven’t been watching games as closely as I usually do to be able to say.

  @drgnslayr if i recall passing close to the shooting pocket was a problem the last couple years. The only guy close to it was Juan. The rest of the guys seemed uncoached in that area. I remember griping about this exact thing. Every single pass was a little off making the ball move very slowly, slow by a thousand adjustments.
