My Goodness. Lance and the staff really our just killing it sounds/looks like in 2026 recruiting-- - rumor has been spreading that 2026 was Lane’s year in recruiting especially local in State kids which has been lacking in past Coaching staffs. – Not in 2026 , KU at this point I checked had a top 20 ranking for their 2026 class.

In 2026 so far we have the # 1 or # 2 ranked player in the State has committed name is J J Dunnigan – the # 4 ranked player in the State & ranked as the # 32 player in the Nation has committed name is Hunter Higgins - - -The # 9 ranked player in the State has committed name is Jayden Mason. On top of this read/saw today we have received CB picks for Tgren Parker - -( Athlete ) – then we have a CB down for Nate Sims -WR ( announcing his decision on the 23rd, & we are the favorite for him WR - -Then the cream from today is A 4 * OL Kayden Synder - - with receiving these CB’s means we are in really good shape. These three picks that all came in today came from the K/State analyst predicting these three are landing at KU.

On top of that we are in a really good spot for the # 1 TE end in Kansas- name is Ian Premer, has been to visit KU multiple times and Jr day , Coach is cleaning up in State , no more of out of State Schools coming in and swiping quality players right here out of Kansas under our nose If we land Premer- — would give us Seven of the top kids from right here in Kansas. - - also in on Josh Galbreath a Rb right here in Lawrence- then the # 1 player WR out of the State of Nebraska Amarion Jackson- - been to visit KU multiple times and Jr day.- -Sitting up to be a massive year in 2026

@approxinfinity Got to say have heard many many times that it’s not important who starts the game - -you need to look out see who is on the floor at crunch time when the game is on the line.

A lot of times you will have situational substitutions sub one player in when your on the offensive end , and then switch when your on defensive end- -I go with the it doesn’t matter who starts- -Hell you go have Pee- Wee & the gang on the floor to start the game doesn’t matter- -it’s who the Coach feels more confident/better that’s on the floor at the end of the game

We got our punter. STRONG leg- -they said if you were to put his stats in the Big 12 this past yr he would of ranked 2nd in net.-- Several 50 plus , very efficient

Flory brings a lot of energy to the floor. Yes, for sure he makes some Freshman mistakes, so much bounce he gets caught being out of position at times, he wants to block everything, having said that I think he is going to be a pretty good player when it’s all said and done.

I think he for sure is back for his Soph year, and unless he makes a HUGE jump he may even come back for his Jr year , how ever long it’s going to be fun to watch him develop

I know guys I just posted on this recently so I apologize here but I can’t help it. I’m so stoked about football at KU anymore , can you believe it?- --Football .

What this staff has done for our once laughing stock in America so called program where we were just happy if we could keep it close for a half. Now - -Now- -what Lance and his guys have done is awesome , Our Coach has come in here and shown that he is really invested to OUR football program. He saw changes and I mean major changes that needed to happen , Weight room , And a remodel almost complete tear down of the old shambled way out of date Stadium & facilities and it’s coming to life.

Lance came in and I still remember something he said , he told his wife after a game something that struck him and that was he says – - Look these fans are cheering for us keeping the game close – not that we won ( We Lost ) - -but he couldn’t believe we were cheering cause we had kept it close. - he made up his mind those days were over , we are now a competitive program at least. We can actually look forward to going to the game and knowing we can play with these teams - -be competitive and actually win many of these games .

Not only has Lance gotten upgrades done with the Stadium and other pieces BUT he and the Staff has worked their tails off and it’s showing we have gradually gotten better talent, better athletes , higher ranked players from all over the Country. Kids that ten years ago even eight years ago wouldn’t even allow us to talk to them - - couldn’t come close to get in their doors,- -Now ?- - - Now- - -Now not only are these higher ranked kids not only listening to Coach’s talks- - Some of these higher rated more talented kids are committing/transferring here to us.

Oh and you don’t think the things that are going on here haven’t been noticed by others ? - Think again my friends-- Our little brothers down the interstate at the Petting Zoo are HOT- -dis belief- - -frustration , whatever or however you want to put it , it’s ok. Bottom line is the keepers of that petting zoo in Manflattin are NOT HAPPY – not happy at all. Why ? – because they know their rein of their winning ways against us are coming to an end and coming soon.

Further proof of our turnaround is getting key commits. Our class of 2026 has a very good chance of being insane.-- Right now a of this point depending where you look we have either the 17 the ranked class in the nation. Or in the other ranking is the 21st best in the Nation for 2026 Another very key point is Lance & staff has finally been able to recruit and get talented kids right here in our own back yard from Kansas.- -No more of Iowa St and K/State just swooping up all the talented kids. The Staff has been able to get back and make that connect with Kansas High School coach’s and kids , been a long time from them just being ignored by KU. . As of today w have gotten huge commits from the following Kansas Recruits and they are good : -We have gotten the either # 1 - or # 2 depending which report you look at J J Dunnigan , Dunnigan is a 3 * CB – We have got the # 4-- -Hunter Higgins a 4 * Edge- - -We got the # 9 player-- -Jayden Mason a 3 * QB— -Then we got Nate Sims a speedy WR - he is ranked in the top 10 but I don’t have it , Think he # 7 - -on top of these guys we are in really good shape with these other kids from Kansas ranked in the top 10

They are : - -Either the # 1 or # 2 rated player Ian Premer you can just flip him and JJ either way good possibility of having the # 1 & # 2 rated both -most have him as the # 1 ranked TE in Kansas- - - then we have # 5 rated Joshua Galbreath r LB another 3 * - -then there is the # 8 ranked player a Wr/Ath --Tyren Parker a 3 *- -then the last one we got the # 10 rated player Kayden Synder another 3 * on the verge of a 4 * player OT.- -If we land these four which again we are in really good shape , that would give us SEVEN of the top TEN players from the State of ?Kansas-- Lance and Staff are COOKING.

K/State’sfans response to all of this si either : - -they backed of these players, they wasn’t as good as people think or they really didn’t want them- -or there is questions arehacing the Parents around the entire Season kinda shaddy things not good people they say. They have got us in a blizzard warning and heavy snow 6-12 inches on top of IOce, good chance of wide power outages. We have been getting freezing drizzle & now freezing light rain and suppose to turn to heavy snow over night and through tomorrow. Not looking good

KU just came our really aggressive from the start ,We just looked like we played angry ball, just dominant. KJ NINE REBOUNDS ? Coach said that chances are we will see more of Hunter and Flory together, Flory being mobile and able to guard out on the floor.- - Love Flory being an athlete, King Mcclure told KU fans not to get used to seeing Flory long. - -I do think Flory will be NBA - -but I also think he will be back for his 2nd year , after that all bets are off lol.

Something is just not right. Another lackluster performance, like they just going through the motions. - -Something is going on, they just look like ehh. - -I dunno. There is no reason they should be playing these types of games with the players they got

THIS has to help AJ - --got to - – this is what Coach and all of us has been waiting for

Been surfing around watching other pod casts and fan base’s Been hearing quite a bit from them just like what we have been saying/ discussing.- -Other schools like Arkansas- - -Indiana - —Baylor-- -K/State - -& Gonzaga to name a few. s

These schools mentioning some of the same thigs we are like at Baylor. Their saying something just isn’t or doesn’t seem right , things just don’t fit. Wrong plyers for the system they are running Rotation needing changed, players that need to be seeing the court less & others seeing it more, then talk going on like wondering if something is going on /is wrong in the locker room. Like player disruption, kinda like AJ, there is a reason Aj has been to what seven different schools in the last seven years- - -a cancer- -just doesn’t fit. - One thing I have heard multiple times AJ is like a black hole the ball may go to him but your not getting it back.

Then you got Coach Cal, their fan base ready to run him out of town on a rail in his first Season. Fans saying he needs to retire that the game of Basketball has past him by , again player rotation With the players/talent he has and they are 0-5 in the SEC not cutting it

Then you have Indiana I do not know how Woodson is still their Mutiple issues Nil & Rotation and playing time

Then you have K/state and Tang, they went out threw all the NIL money trying to buy the best players money could buy, not caring about how they fit with other players just bought them up not thinking-- just not a fit – not the right fit , players not caring just looking at NIL. Terrble with the NIL and getting wrong players from the portal

Then Gonzaga , they started out just curb stomping Baylor, made you think whoaaa Baylor pretty decent team and Gonzaga kicks them by forty. Now look at Gonzaga , not even in the top twenty five- - they have issues When was the last time we have seen Gonzaga not ranked in the top twenty five ?- -Just a crazy season going on with this NIL & Portal Then

I am thinking the percentages of the game at about 55/45 % KU and that could be my crimson & blue heart doing the thinking instead of my peanut size brain doing the thinking lol.

I think it’s going to be an ugly game , with a lot of fouls. I think it’s going to be hard to get into any kind of flow because of whistles, Biggest keys to winning will be rebounding especially keeping Houston off the boards on the offensive end & for us to keep from turning the ball over , giving Houston extra possessions and 100% especially NO live ball turnovers.

One big reason for saying an ugly game is because Houston is # one in the defensive side & KU is # four. One other big thing is you just CAN NOT give Sharp any open looks . There has been a little talk about him being able to play because he messed his ankle up I guess in practice , but chances are he will play You have to try and run him off the three point line or get a really good contested shot at the least. I think he is shooting like 47% from the three - -him and Cryer will kill you off open looks. I think your going to have to switch off on ball screens and not get caught up if you try and not switch off , Cryer has a pretty quick release

Anyways having said that I think I will still go out a little bit , hope we come out play really well, avoid these dam slow starts --and hopefully with us getting going from the tip & home Court- - you know the Phog is going to be really juiced- - I’ll go out and say- -KU 66 - & Houston --63.-- -ROCK CHALK

NFC North is the strongest on the National side , you look we got Detroit 10-1 -Minnesota 9-2 - -and my GB Packers at 8-3- - -you best win every game or your gonna be toast.

I can’t remember does the playoffs have 2 or 3 wild cards?- -I’m not sure if both wild cards could even come from the same division- I think it’s two wild cards , you have your three division winners and then the two wild cards. Detroit is a handful

Before Lance came in those types of kids if we tried to recruit them --they would hardly acknowledge us little lone commit to us. These kids before didn’t want to come to play for some crappy low football program and be part of a laughing stock of College football.- -Now they see commitment from the staff, look what’s getting done Weight room huge upgrade- - New stadium instead of what the hell ever that thing was- -we are starting to be able to get into the Kansas recruits win them over, where before wasn’t even going to the Schools to try and recruit high quality players- - ya we had a bad Season but wasn’t because of a shit show, it was where the defense couldn’t maintain leads for one thing- -I’m telling you this defense is on the verge of being nasty from the efforts and results Lance is getting – -I’m ready for football, good to see a competitive team again, be able to go watch College football in Larwrence again instead of a circus where the Captains use to say OK name your score at how bad we were getting our ass kicked on a weekly basis- - Lance is doing just fine

KU has now gotten commits from the # 1 or 2 player in the state depending which site you look at- 3 5 by 247 sports , - we have the # - 4 player in the state - -the # 6 player in the state - - # 9 player in the State – -& the # 11 player in the state

Plus we still have a really good shot at the # 3 player in the state-- - & pretty decent chance yet at the #-- 1 player in the state we get them that would be 8 out of the top eleven ranked kids in Kansas

I agree Hunter should of ben called for a flagrant - -but a flagrant 2 ? come on now , let’s be real. First of all the kid from Duke like they said was a clear undercut , which could of caused injury to Hunter - -Hunter reacted , I had just said one of these times Hunter is going to get us in trouble and it’s going to cost us BUT to be ejected think extreme flagrant 2— think that’s a little much.

Who knows though in the over all grand scheme of things might of ben really beneficial for us, seeing how the team pulled together even more. These guys showed up , some real toughness in a bad spot by losing Hunter -they showed me some toughness for sure last night. For me KJ’s defense on Flagg last night was really good, and yet he did so many other things Juan stating KJ can guard 1-5 and yet 8 points ( ya I know )- -it was 8 points but at key time of game late 3 steals , 3 blocks , and 3 assists - - – looks fine to me and yet we gonna have ( Haters gonna hate )

I will say this checking the box score , KU had 10 offensive rebounds this game – dam when is the last time we have done that – good job. – KU out rebounded Duke against that taller line up another Good job-- now on to our next game -

I’m sorry there is nobody worth that type of money- - - -nobody period. When you stop and think about it, that’s a hell of a lot more money then the President of United Stated gets paid - - -what’s wrong with that picture, you think about all the tough decisions on trying to run the country the stress of being the President all the obligations , decisions and such and then you have a guy that is making that much money playing in a game that he loves, no way does that begin to compare.

Yet as long as these owners are going to keep throwing that kind of money out to these guys then it’s just going to keep getting worse.

Bottom line who is it that suffers the most from things such as this? - -Us - - w the fans are the one’s who end up getting screws the most, the owners pay these idiotic salaries and then as one way of getting their money back – just continue to jack the prices up on tickets, parking , concessions , and whatever else and it’s the fan that gets screwed. what’s going to happen somewhere along the line is they are going to end up pricing themselves right out of the market sooner or later. the middle class and lower class people sure the hell can’t afford the price of a game the way its moving now.

Read yesterday that Coach Self is wanting to run Hunter and Flory together a little more , saying he think Flory and Hunter can play together not big periods of time but like 5 minute runs. Interesting

@BigBad Well said. I’ve tried to say before, if it was acceptable by the NCAA regulation, after performances like this last week if he could get away with it Coach Self would make sure these guys had an understanding about the game of basketball

Thing is a Coach can only do so much, he can grill these kids , keep running the same things , basic things and such but at the end of the day it’s the players responsibility to handle business, He can’t go out on the floor , bring the ball up the floor , make the right passes , make the right decisions , get the rebounds , set the screens , defend the ball , play the pick and roll on defense , That falls on the players

Coach doesn’t have time to baby sit some of these guys - -guys that think they should start - -play 30/33/35 minutes a game without proving their case and showing they deserve those things.- -There is not a single person in this chat room that doesn’t know that if you don’t play defense or at least try to play defense then your not going to play. There are some players that think there is only one end the court - -the offensive end, but even then you would think there was some deadly formula on the back boards that will be fatal if they should by accident try and get after a offensive rebound.

You have certain players that just don’t want to try and defend, they just want to play the offensive end, and don’t do a very good job of that either , by making bad decisions with very bad shot selection , forced shots and errant dum passes.

I’ll give Flory & Passmore a little bit of a pass with this right now- -they are Freshmen still learning , but when you have fifth , sixth yr players- -experienced portal players that’s play college ball when your having them play like they are and some it shows as long as they are getting that NIL - it’s like eh, I’m not playing defense , I’m not worried about effort, they don’t give a dam about who they are representing as long as they have their NIL they are good to go. IF there are players that are wishing they were back at Alabama , or Wisconsin or where the frick ever I’d be the first one showing them the door. You want out?- -then get the hell out and don’t let the door hit you in the ass on the way out. We want kids here at KU that WANT TO BE HERE because of our rich Basketball history, not just NIL

I’m so confused right now. I have heard valid points from both ways. I was listening to a KU podcast yesterday, and they brought up some very good points.

One of the first points brought out and have to agree – - - KJ Adams, I think everybody loves KJ , how hard he plays and guards but we just can’t have KJ on the floor for 30 plus minutes, not with Hunter. He can’t or just doesn’t rebound , he has no shot , more of a liability.

They posed this question – -good question and that was-- Is Coach Self a good fit with the portal ? - -Now they said for sure he can hit it ard , recruit it well BUT is the players he get fit the KU System ?- -They made the point that It’s on Coach Self with these guys because he knew what kind of a player when they recruited them.

They talked about How Coach Self hs gotten these kids so shell shocked, they have lost all confidence , instead of Coach allowing them to play through their mistakes, they are so worried about being yanked. - -Self say you don’t know what I want from you - - -then you can just sit over here on the bench till you get it figured out.

He knew what type of player he was getting with AJ , saying AJ is attacking, Talking about AJ shooting 4 free throws a game last yeat , vut only like 1.5 this year - - – ATTACK drive the ball.

They talk about how we heard how things were going to be different more like 4 out one in- -and what do we have right now ?- - – -was going to be a different approach - -yet this year KU KU’s offense, they are only averaging 27 % at shooting three’s- - that ranks 287th in the Nation attempting a three.- -While at two point shot attempts we are 5th in the nation attempting a two point shot.

Crazy thing to is - -I didn’t know is KU is the Most experienced team in the Nation- the average experience age for KU is 3- --1/2 years - -The National average right now is a 1 - -1/2,

They also brought up that KU had tried Seven different combinations of lineups ---- you know how many of those Seven is that started KJ - -Juan -& Hunter - - ALL SEVEN— they said that in the end Coach Self is a guy that is going to have on the floor who he trusts most , and that is KJ - -Hunter -& Juan- - They said you are not going to gain Coach Self’s trust on the offensive end - I just don’t quite know what to think.- -They also said too that just because KU is playing at home today just don’t automatically think KU’s problem is going to go away and they are coming out guns a blaze and the problems are over – this team has work to do

Now in the more borader picture on the Season- -Shots taken- -Zeke attempted 71/125- ( here is a glaring difference- -Zeke has attempted 46 more shots then KJ) - - - Free Throws - - Zeke- -11/14 - -KJ - -18/23- – -Now here where it shows in the rebounding comparison - - Zeke 3 offensive rebounds , - -KJ 21 offensive rebounds - -defensive rebounds - -Zeke 43 - - KJ - -232.

So actually Zeke and KJ are actually pretty much the same , just not that rebounding difference that you had mentioned by double.-- Zeke hitting the defensive boards quite a bit better , - -KJ more balanced defensive and offensive- - but as you see overall only two tenths difference in rebounding average.

What i really don’t think some understand is , I just don’t think KJ is that kind of player where he is going to be some scoring machine. I don’t think Coach has him on the floor for- -I think he has him out on the floor because of everything else he does. - - -He can guard 1 through 4 and do a good job at it- - - He really shouldn’t have to be counted on to score much more then what he si – he averages I think right at 9 points a game.-- That’s why Coach went into the portal and got these other guys – they are suppose to help hunter in the scoring aspect of the game- -that’s what Rylan - - AJ - - & Zeke were brought in for, -KJ - guards and guards well. KJ is not afraid to go to the floor for loose balls - more just hustle- - -does the dirty work then anything - I think KJ catch’s a lot of unwarranted flack – KJ is who he is - -just not a big time scorer that’s all my friend
