Another Bucket attendee is myself & 17 year old son & future Jayhawk. We’re sitting in lower section close to KU bench, but probably still a long ways from court.

Attended my first Final 4 in 08 in San Antonio & it was/is still a bucket list memory etched forever. Attended with best friend (also attended New Orleans in 12). Now, I get to experience with my son.

Nothing like a Final 4. I am amazed at the # of college hoops fans that attend, that do not have a vested interest in any participating team - just college hoops fans that love the game. We ran into a ton of them.

Best memory of 08 San Antonio; standing along the river walk w thousands of Jayhawk faithful on Monday of title game, the Jayhawk band comes down the river on tourist boat playing, “I’m A Jayhawk.” Across the river is Derek Rose & Rev Jesse Jackson & other Memphis supporters. They looked amazed at all these Jayhawks singing & drinking & celebrating. This was like 6 hours before tip. It was Jayhawks Heaven, for literally all day.

Looking forward to new memories and exciting games & atmosphere. Rock Chalk!

THIS is the GAME between these two coaches & programs that will define their history. We’re due. We’re not supposed to win or advance. They have the player of the year. They’re Nike & east coast.

The cards are in our favor Jayhawk faithful. 5 point underdogs? I’d be pissed w that if I’m Villanova. Hawks have no pressure to underperform & can let it fly. I see many lob jams to Doke coming in this one. Malik has 2 games left in the post season to prove he’s draft/league worthy now. DG can lead us to the promised land & cement his status as a Jayhawk all time legend - he has already done that.

I’m a believer. This team is on a roll. We’ve proven toughness & shown skill time & again during league & tourney games. We’re Addidas by God. We’re due. Enjoy the ride.

Fieldhouse better be rocking Sat! My son will be part of the group playing Natl Anthem & we’re pumped for him. Our 1st home game to attend this year! Couldn’t have picked a better time for our annual, hair raising experience! I love the unknowns & underdog role this team seems to be managing. I believe one of Bill’s Best coaching seasons. Thin bench, tired starters, etc but let’s give credit where it’s due. Our bigs have IMPROVED dramatically thru the season. Both Doke & Mitch. Dosousa has such potential & Bill said it would be late Feb before he could help. Not a typical year Jayhawk faithful but man it’s been fun. Getting better as season progresses is better than peaking early. Now, no injuries & let’s enjoy the ride. Need some Fieldhouse magic this week! Rock Chalk.

Do not assign the Hawks an 11am tip game. We’re too sleepy that early & don’t eat breakfast. We need a minimum of 1/2 day to read & take in the scouting report. Coach Hudy does not have enough time to help us stretch. It’s too darn cold & the fan base is not quite awake either.

Tip us at 11pm, even out West if necessary but please, please NO 11am tips.

We don’t win last year’s home comeback WV game with that rule change. We’re so spoiled that we expect to win every close road game? The game rules seem to work well for KU as they are. Coach learned a big lesson last night. We sub Mitch & Doke for defense/offense in last 3 min, we have much better chance to finish like we’re accustomed.

That said, I like the thought of those changes however, it would make the Games 35 min Long rather than a full 40.

Is that actually a possibility? To rest your starting point guard a couple minutes each half in a Big 12 Conf game?

Devonte needs a break every once in a while. Rediculous he has to play 40 min. Has no legs left at crunch time. He is our unquestioned leader, no doubt. We don’t have much back up pg talent on roster but playing him 40 min a night certainly doesn’t help him or the team.

Use the bench more Coach. Certainly can’t hurt playing the few backups we have a few more min per game. Give them some on the job training & more importantly, keep this 3 point dependent shooting team somewhat fresh for second half’s & stretch run of season.

Maybe the guards can sell out & defend the 3 as a primary defensive goal. Good guards are going around us anyway. Let them take mid range jumpers which no one in college seems to want to take consistently. The last two losses we gave up so many killer threes.

This group is going to have to settle defensively by giving something up. Just not athletic or deep enough to maintain 40 min of quality defense.

Maybe we can stop the rediculous turnovers too.

@truehawk93 ASU showed our back court not consistently athletic. Good shooters when no one in their face. Showed we suck at stopping dribble penetration. Showed we have horrible interior defense when playing man D. Their penetration & interior passing shredded Hawks. Showed we cannot defend 3 point shooting. So we’ve witnessed this in back to back games vs mid to upper level power 5 programs. Let’s change it up some.

Throw some wrinkles to opposition. Need to throw Zone, triangle two & man/man at folks. Svi, Malik are very weak links defensively in man against better than avg D1 athletes. To sum up, many weaknesses exposed this week & earlier vs KY. We beat Syr because they can’t shoot straight.

Not time to bail on Hawks at all. They need us more than ever. But this team needs help & 40 min of man D ain’t working. Try something.
