Hopefully we get some halftime readjustments and get the crowd into it

RE: Darryn Peterson
He certainly has a good chunk of college BB following his story right now

RE: Darryn Peterson
The first 6 of the 7 top stories in my FB feed were about DP just now. Donāt really see how it compares to the Tang fiasco much tho. We are one of the most dangerous teams in the country with probably the best player. Yea itās frustrating and yea thereās a lot drama being played up by the media, but comparing us to the train wreck at KSuck? I donāt see those two situations as comparable.
And I donāt think DP is bored either, but it was an interesting take. As is Bskeetās of him playing the GMās for a better team drafting him. We certainly canāt accuse this year of being boring and no fun to watch, as I canāt wait to see what happens next.

@rockchalkjayhawk said in Darryn Peterson:
A friend had an alternate theory on DP that I hadnāt heard.
Heās simply bored with college ball.
Now that is an interesting take. But wouldnāt you think if itās really that effortless for him, he would want to make a more serious historical mark to show how much better he was than everybody else? Something like the all-time record of points scored or 3 pointers made or something, even if just for one game?
And I think that was the first post game interview with Bill that Iāve heard so far this year where he didnāt fiercely defend JP. So curious to see what happens next.
Itās quite the perplexing situation. Best case he helps us win the natty, but even if that comes to pass I think Iāll still probably think of him more as a valuable weapon just passing thru, rather than a true Jayhawk.

RE: Tonight v OK State 8:00 CT
So my pre game prediction, as usual, was terrible. Weak first half with weak DP showing and strong second half for a close finish? So glad I was so wrong on all counts. Odd for a big road win to still seem sorta ugly, but hey, Iāll take it. Good guys win again and are soooo much more fun to watch than that last few years teams.

RE: Tonight v OK State 8:00 CT
I forget which of you told me, but last game I tried a suggestion and it worked. I waited until 5 minutes into the game, went to YouTube, searched for KU vs ISU, and found a stream of the game. It was on a delay of a minute or two, and blinked out for a second or two fairly often, but for free I couldnāt complain. Iāll be trying that trick again tonight, so hats off to the boardrat who mentioned it.
My prediction - we comeback to win in a tight game after a weak first half 79-77. DP is just average but draws coverage and Melvin lights it up in the second half. Would like to see Tre do well, but feel he might be another game or two away from 100%.

RE: Iowa St Favored By 6.5; I Don't Think So ⦠Gamechat Thread - 2/14 12:00 CT
DP had 23 mins played, 0 rebounds, 0 assists, 10 pts. Didnāt look like the best ku player moreless the best player in the country. I like Melvin running point better.
Not a surprising outcome today, but still disappointing. Hopefully we can win another road game or two.

Blew right by DP for the bucket

RE: Flory Bidunga
His staying out of foul trouble has been huge. And did yāall hear his comments about Self hugging him in the post game last night? Heās pretty funny! And seems like a really good person. This team is special.

RE: Darryn Peterson
I think he can, and wants to, play a key role the rest of the season for us. And he most likely has some legit health concerns. Maybe itās just compared to some of the other dawgs on the team - Tiller cramping then going back in, Elmarko fight back from a season ending injuriy, or Melvin getting six stitches then just minutes later immediately back in and made an impact with an assist, a forced turnover, and a score - the optics just arenāt good by comparison.
Heās a valuable weapon, good exposure for the program, and seems like a good person. Hopefully he knocks my socks off in the weeks ahead enabling a deep tourney run. But for now, beyond a couple of admittedly great performances, heās more an interesting (and often distracting) side story to me this season.
(But Iām still totally wearing loose fitting socks in hopes of getting some serious knocks!)

RE: Darryn Peterson
I saw Tiller had leg cramps last night, went to the bench⦠and was back in the game later.

RE: Kansas Jayhawks vs Arizona Wild Cats Game Chat Mon. 2/9 8:00 CT
Even if not true, pretty darn frustrating having your best player sit on the bench time and time again. Especially after he had back to back 30+ minute games, I was hoping he and his health had finally come around. Glad we can win without him, because every single game his non-obvious ailments have us all wondering whether he will play or not. Yes, heās amazing, but is also equal parts frustrating.

Good guys win again in one of the toughest games Iāve seen us play in years. Man, the heart these guys have.
