Tre White 17 pts, 15 rebounds, a fat lip and bloody nose. You are a bad ass son thank you.

RE: Kansas Jayhawks vs Iowa State Cyclones Game Chat Tue. 1/13 8:00 CT
Bill said I'm tightening up this 7 man rotation. So Elmarko and Mari do this: 16pts 8 dimes and 4 steals and Mari hit two huge shots to get the game back in our court.

RE: Conference Play Discussion
Thank you for all your hard work. Now that our team has shown us their hearts our top five defense will hold teams below their average and our offense has averaged 80 in our mini win streak. If a team like St Johns can play with ISU so can we. I'm saying all this sans Darryn who is just stunning I mean come on man. Get cheap with Tre, Flory, Melvin (see the end of the MU game), and you will get it back plus some and any one of these guys have and can take over a game. I saw Tiller get rugged himself he doesn't like you trying to push him around and he is scary athletic and talented. He is going to go so off watch for the bomb. Self has told him to keep shooting the corner three he is not scared of anyone. Jamari who ends up guarding a big in the paint when we play small and gets just slung around and he gets up and sprints to his place. He is a surprise on both ends but after thirteen games it not a surprise anymore. Kohl lives in Kohland and doesn't give a darn who he runs into. He just keeps on going for it on the lobs (really dude?) and has no filter when he is open. I'd throw Samis onto those tall forwards when needed. He is about to bubble open. He will be good and needs to be this year and not next year.

RE: Kansas Jayhawks vs Baylor Bears Game Chat Fri. 1/16 7:00 CT
Carr and Yesoufoo are about as good a pair of guards as we've seen this year. Tiller was very good in the first 15 of the game. Giving Baylor credit for taking the 1 point lead in the first. Tre took good shots and no air balls they just didn't fall. Baylor matched up pretty well with us. Our big guys with 8 blocks and the team with only 4 turnovers and 8 steals.

RE: Kansas Jayhawks @ NC State Wolfpack Game Chat Sat. 12/13 4:30 CT
Council leads the conference in minutes played per game. The guy before DP came back was probably Elmarko who can get it done mostly but Melvin can play defense and wants to. Council has shot sub 40 every year and it looks like the floaters he uses when penetrating are still a bit awkward. I guess DP will run things more or less now and having Melvin as a wing is good because he can assist and was getting better and better at that all year. Now that we can average 80 I think he will be good in whatever role he is in. This roster goes eight deep plus I keep dreaming of Dawson getting comfortable and going off from three. DP, Flory and Tre, Melvin and Tiller are reliable on both ends and are scoring 69 points between them. Now that Elmarko, who can go off and Jamari who defends and hits 3 balls this teams is going to get tougher and tougher to beat. Of course worry wart me is nervous about NCSU and their tall deep shooters.

If DP was really hurt again he would have been back in the locker room I think. 31 minutes was a lot for him and we needed all of them. Even when hampered he is special.

Flory shut down Dybansta and he struggled to get inside. We can be disappointed in DP but we saw a 50 point type of scorer in action. Tre White played his usual hard game but his four quick turnovers at the start of the second half changed the tone. BYU is a top ten type team but couldn't handle our defense.

My grand nephew with the Jets 9 carries 56 yds and a TD. Jets suck.

RE: Kansas Jayhawks Vs UConn Huskies Game Thread 12/2 8PM CT
I think coach Hurley had a perplexed or stunned look on his face. UConn mostly looked just average. It's a fluke loss. Bricking lay ups even to the point of air balling is funny is retrospect. What I really want to see is this team keeping up the effort on defense. It's effective and I'm proud of them. This team has losses to NC, Duke and UConn and played them even 90% of the time. If Peterson is really good we could beat all of them.

If off rebounds are like turnovers we have 20 turnovers and outscored by 21 from three.

Well a defensive game favors us but a defensive sloppy game IDK.

We are 89-24 in Big Monday games and 49-1 at Allen. 38-0 under Bill. So 40-24 away.

RE: Darryn Peterson
The BYU game was a great win for this years team. Thanks but success comes with a price and if we win against TTU it means we will need to win against Zona at least one and Houston. We are here and deserve it. That will mean just three possible games in the conference tourney we don't need to win the tourney and i'm just being a mother hen.

RE: BYU Beatdown game chat - 1/31 3:30 CT
We didn't get up by 20 at the half just because of DP. Saunders didn't just fall out of a tree in the second. 24 in a half is a fluke and probably made him some money later

RE: Darryn Peterson
How do they work it when he starts the second half and goes more than 5 minutes or more, How do they call him off? It's a little to pat to say he'll go as close to five minutes and then Bill you will pull him. I can't see Self doing this and living with it.

RE: Kansas Jayhawks at Texas Tech Red Raiders Game Chat Fri. 1/16 8:00 CT
This has all the markings of a very tight game. My calculations show this 85-83 Tech. Tech averaging 88.6 over last five and KU averaging 83. Tech allowing 77 over last five and KU 67.6. Tech beat Houston and BYU and KU beat ISU and BYU. We are playing our best on Offense now but TTU will score early from the top from Anderson and often from Toppin on floaters. We need to answer from the start and don't get buried. Getting 10 threes efficiently and we are in it all game. Toppin is the hardest working player I've watched this year. He is fast on the run and hustles endlessly and averages about 37 minutes. Anderson also plays that many minutes. We can count on Jamari to play hard and hit a couple of threes. Elmarko is questionable and I replayed the tripping call with Dybantsa and Elmarko clipped his knee on AJ's leg. Bill thinks it is extra painful because of the knee injury from last year.

If UCF could host the South Region it might get interesting for them.

RE: BYU Beatdown game chat - 1/31 3:30 CT
I keep avoiding saying that this is a deliberate tactic but Big Picture Bill sees another deep run. It takes a super talented player to even consider this. Whatever is happening is working after a season high of five straight wins and a tie for third in this top heavy league. The rest of the team righted the ship by themselves to make this work and payback dunks against MU, KSU and now BYU show an edge and belief in themselves. I swear to Doctor Phog Allen that Bryson Tiller smiled.

RE: BYU Beatdown game chat - 1/31 3:30 CT
@tundrahok Last week Arizona led BYU by 19 in the second half and by 11 with 63 seconds left and BYU had the ball under their basket with 15 seconds left and missed the winning shot. They came back against the #1 team in the country better than they did against us. Maybe they are just resilient and really good also. I'm not upset about their big second half. We were a mid 70's scoring team without DP and we scored at our average in the second half. Kudos to Jamari for his play all game. Eight points, three boards, two assists and zero turnovers.
