@kjayhawks2.0 said in Council- Another year:
I would love to have Melvin back for another year no questions asked. Really hopeful we can keep a nucleus of guys like Tiller, McDowell, Jackson, Rosario, Calderon and Mbyia. Get a few guys outta the portal and a couple of HS kids in the door.
Might be tough to keep Tiller from what I've heard. A lot of money will be tied up in Flory (and very likely Stokes but the blood isn't dry there yet) plus starting spots.
There is a long way to go but I would make these educated guesses
Elmarko - stays
Jamari - stays
Mbiya - leaves not good enough role/pt
Tiller - leaves if we get Stokes, stays if not (I really really think we get Stokes)
Samis - leaves not good enough
Kohl - Likely gone (another Klutch client not having a good experience after Rylan)
-
If Flory keeps playing like this I could see him getting a nice guaranteed NBA deal.
-
@FarmerJayhawk That would definitely be a game changer. It's really too early to guess anything at this point since it could all change but I do think if he comes back to school it will be at KU.
-
Yeah I understand financially it will be difficult to keep both Tiller/Flory but they should try if that's even an viable option.
-
@BShark you think there is a chance Flory stays? Iām seeing him on draft boards in the 20s first round. I would agree if he stays it eats up a lot of money
-
We may benefit from an extreme amount of upperclassman bigs being draft ready this year but flory has increased his draft stock immensely
-
No brainer to retain though as he's vitally important to this team. Whether his play of late is earning him an NBA check or another NIL bump it's been great to watch his development.
-
If Flory goes pro is there a chance we have both Tiller and Stokes next year, starting the former at the 5 and the latter at the 4?
-
@Jayhawk_69 that would be my guess
-
Is Flory's outside game good emough for the NBA? Dok never managed to develop one and seems GMs want outside shooting threats.
-
@mayjay I have assumed for quite some time that Flory would not he high on NBA draft boards due to the fact that he is undersized for a center and has no outside shot. But if he is projected to go in the first round then I guess I am wrong and Flory is probably gone after this season.
