KU vs the Purps
-
@Crimsonorblue22 agreed. Totally out of character. My apologies.
-
This Brandon Rush tribute is
-
@DCHawker what would help is putting Coleby at the five and let Carlton be the stretch four. Know idea why coach doesn’t do that.
-
@Hawk8086 I don’t know about “work in progress”. Effort seems to be the main thing.
-
@HawkChamp well said. They have shown they can play stellar D for stretches when they want to
-
-
Are we just playing like an NBA team, where only the 4th Q matters? Damn, a decent lead at home would be nice for once. Whoops, we had a 12 points lead against I State.
-
@BShark nice
-
@jessejayhawk accepted
-
@HawkChamp Fair enough. Maybe…the march toward playing consistent defense is a work in progress.
-
Hey, I appreciate everyone being here and I enjoy your comments. Thanks.
-
Oh my
-
lol defense
-
Moonlight Graham
-
Frank is so good
-
first runout of the game, right?
-
There is just something so odd about this picture. At home - shooting 50% from 3 - against TCU! - and just up a deuce…
-
Wonder if we could play D for like 1 possession

Rebounding and defense.
-
Welcome back, Devonte…you’re a sight for sore eyes…
-
Sadly, with this team playing in AFH I root for a 2 possession lead, which we finally have.
-
@BShark Agree - the point is that it is so unlike the typical Self team - we just haven’t seen this before…
-
@cragarhawk they just don’t want to expend much energy it seems. We have seen them when they know they need a stop, so it is within their ability to play lockdown D.
-
Double OUCH, Lucas 0 points, and 1 rb.
-
And that is the point.
-
@HawkChamp that could be the whole deal. Self says save a lil energy tonight fellas. It crossed my mind
-
@DCHawker the odd thing is that they are capable of it.
-
This KU team is a lot like the really good ISU teams. Though they never had a player like Josh.

True.
-
I give credit to TCU, only 5 turnovers and very few breakaways for us (one I think)
-
Showtime!
-
WOW
-
I was gonna complain about Lucas not kicking it back out but that Josh dunk made me forget or something.
-
What’s this? A two possession lead at the break.
-
Man this is a sight for sore eyes - defense leading to offense. Very nice
-
08 team lived off this. Blew a lot of teams out by doing that. Gawd the 08 team was so good.
-
Cole Aldrich the FOURTH big. We seem so far removed from that now.
-
Fun here!
-
@BShark yes. As evidenced by the last two minutes, this team is capable of that kind of play but they just dont do it often
-

They are, which is what makes it all the more frustrating. Literally long stretches where there is at best indifference on the defensive end. Maybe they are “pacing” themselves because of a lack of depth, but it just allows inferior teams to stick around - which has the perverse effect of requiring more energy… The only real complaint I have with HCBS this year is not stealing a few minutes from Coleby and/or Mitch each game and a bit of 3 out and 2 in just to allow a couple of minutes of rest for the primary 6 and lessen foul problems…
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Way to rub it in Crimson. I have to wait until the post-game show to see Rush’s ceremony. Have fun. I’m glad for you.
-
Yeah defense is mostly an effort thing and it’s harder when you only play 7 guys.
-
Nice to see Devonte attacking. Excellent
-
@Crimsonorblue22 Rub it in…
-
Rip that board down Bragg… Man I love that…
-
Rebounding changing the game.
-
Show off…
-
@BShark ain’t it peculiar
-
Trying to steal minutes with BIFM on the pine.
-
Good Bragg. Attacking. I like it
