Baylor #1 in AP poll
-
As assumed by most Baylor claimed the top spot after Nova lost. KSU joins the rankings for the first time since 2014.
- Baylor
2.Kansas 3. Nova 4. UCLA 5. Gonzaga 6. Kentucky 7. Duke 8. Creighton 9. Florida state 10. West Virginia 11. UNC 12. Butler 13. Oregon 14. Louisville 15. Xavier 16. Arizona 17. Purdue 18. Wisconsin 19. Virginia 20. Notre Dame 21. Saint Marys 22. Cincinnati 23. Florida 24. Minnesota 25. T- Kansas State and USC.
Nice to see another B12 team in the poll.

@kjayhawks YA only thing is - -won’t be for long. - - K-State has Texas Tech at Tech - -and then Baylor at home. - -I can very easily see them losing both of these games. - - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@jayballer54 agreed I’m still not sold on them, but time will tell and they have improved from a year ago. Outside of playing us they haven’t played a ranked team, best win is still RPI 110 Omaha.
-
@kjayhawks Where do you see K-State ranked? I don’t see them getting any votes in the latest AP Poll.
-
Ksu might beat baylor
-
@KUSTEVE Weird. The poll on CBS didn’t have K-State listed, but the official one does have them tied with USC.
-
@KUSTEVE that’s what ESPN showed but only place I’ve looked.
-
@kjayhawks That’s where I saw it listed.
-
Baylor and KU are #1 and #2 in both polls. KSU is #25 in the AP poll and #27 in the USA Coaches poll.
Last season OU and KU were both #1 in each of the two polls; are we looking to a repeat of the KU-OU classic with Baylor replacing OU?
-
@JayHawkFanToo I don’t think Faylor makes past tomorrow night against Press Virginia.
-
@KUSTEVE I agree
-
Cool! KU is so highly regarded that KSU losing to Our beloved Jayhawks has vaulted them into the rankings!!!
-
@Crimsonorblue22 umm,I JUST DON’T see that happening. Even though the game is at their little cow palace, Baylor gonna be a match up nightmare for them - -way to much length Motley and their other big boy I think will give K - Straight fits. - -but hey it was fun to be ranked for a week right? - -even though it was a tie for 25th. - - I am still not impressed. - -I feel pretty confident in the re-match with us- -it’s not going to be as close for them, I think you will see an entirely different team in KU that night - -ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@Crimsonorblue22 I might be the pope tomorrow too lmao - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY
-
@jayballer54 Pope probably doesn’t say lmao or jumping gee Hossa …

Pretty sure he does the former, even if he doesn’t say it. Seems like a pretty earthy guy.
Wouldn’t it be fun if all the world leaders belonged to a Board like this, call it PowerBuckets.com or something? They could air all their disputes, comment, exchange notes at midnight with The Donald, etc. Then he wouldn’t be limited to only 140 characters, and would have lots of friends, just like we do here.
Of course, “flaming” somebody might get a whole new extreme meaning…
-
@KUSTEVE Which means next poll we’re #1. Polls are kind of a king of the mountain type of thing. We’ve had a relatively underwhelming start to our league season, but here we are #1. I hate to say it, but I’m not positive we’re #1 right now. I’m assuming we beat OU tomorrow. OSU Saturday at home, then Big Monday at Ames, fresh with the #1 ranking…

Here we go with all the Baylor hype and Scott Drew getting his hopes up in the B12. They have to visit WVU, TCU, and KState. We all know how Baylor comes out of the preseason gate with some noise, and then quiet down around Jan-Feb. They also come to Lawrence too. They will have 1-2 loses. I think they fall against WVU and KState.
We hear this every year from Baylor and how they can “dethrone” KU.
Look at BU’s schedule. Scott Drew says they’ve done well against some good teams. He’s trying to justify their #1 ranking. They beat a very premature Oregon who was proven to be way overrated. They played a very weak MSU early in the season too. MSU has fallen completely out of the rankings. I have always believed BU and Drew to be a little bit of a fluke.
Baylor #1 right now is a little funny.
-
According to Jeff Sagarin, Baylor is 4-0 against top 25 and 6-0 against top 50 teams; best record of any team. By the way, Oregon is ranked 11 and 13 in the two main polls. Baylor and Gonzaga are the only unbeaten teams left. Based on the record to date, Baylor has a legitimate claim to the #1 spot.
-
@JayHawkFanToo Brooks didn’t play when they played Baylor.
-
And KU lost to Indiana that fell off the top 25 and did not even receive a single vote in either poll and now is probably considered a bad loss. If you follow the computer polls, KU has dropped even when it has not lost and I believe it is due to the drop by Indiana.
-
@JayHawkFanToo barely beat ksu
-
@Crimsonorblue22 lol, well maybe I’ll start a new trend lol - - - - just kidding of course - - ROCK CHALK ALL DAY LONG BABY

@JayHawkFanToo Oops…so much for that legitimate #1 spot. It appears WVU agreed with me. I’ve been around the B12 a long time my friend. I hear the BU hype every hear. I didn’t say they were a bad team, I just don’t think Scott Drew has the coaching skills to take them to the next level. I never said they didn’t deserve the #1 spot for a day(?) I just don’t think they played a tough quality team, until now. Also, the “experts” aren’t always right. In case you think my homer glasses are on, the “experts” have tried to use their “expertise” with KU and it failed too many times, KU has proven them wrong on many occasions.
But we all have opinions and that’s a good thing.

@wissox I don’t want that cursed #1 spot. Those rankings are always BS this time of year. March is all that matters and who is cutting down those nets every single year.
