Chatting KU Baylor hoops here
-
Sooooo…I figure this will quiet down the pooh slinging monkeys on kusports who want Coach Self fired…lol.
-
@KUSTEVE which was maybe one person.
-
@RockChalkinTexas That’s a good one. It’d be good for Ok to win to keep our high profile matchup on Monday intact.
-
@KUSTEVE someone actually said that?? Wth
-
@cragarhawk yep…
-
@KUSTEVE What’s this kusports you speak of?
-
11/19 from 3 pt %
better than 53.7% FG
-
@brooksmd True that…
-
@RockChalkinTexas I think OU takes it
-
Self telling Raferty their (Baylor) best offense in the first half was us putting hands on them. Sending them to the line.
-
@Bwag one is too many…
-
I want OU to win because I want to see 1 vs. 2 on Monday and I want KU to end OU’s undefeated season.
-
@KUSTEVE If you don’t have a detractor you’re either dead or not doing anything.
-
@Bwag Very true.
-
@KUSTEVE It wasn’t the person who may have been trolling very early here saying the same thing, but it seemed very tongue in cheek?
-
@KUSTEVE We shot great, but when you get to 100 points, you’re playing fast. I think that is what so many of us were worried about, that Self would try to push us into back to the basket, high - low offense when we don’t have the personnel down low to execute in that style.
19 3 pt’s played to our strength and it helped that we hit them. Hit a couple late of course, but, from what I saw (thanks CBS) we destroyed their zone with our ball movement and outside shooting. Think we were at 75% 3 pt shooting while they were in the zone. That played to our strength. What I couldn’t tell (thanks CBS) was if it was due to inside-out or some other form of ball movement that got us there.
I like that he had Mickelson back in there late in the 2nd and we seemed to flow again a little smoother. Then mop up with an incredible bench of Diallo/Bragg/Vick.
-
@RockChalkinTexas We do.
-
@wissoxfan83 No, not him. He was funny. It was this guy:
Jaston Archie 3 days, 6 hours ago “Self will always be secure as long as KU fans bow down and kiss his feet. The fact remains that the players Self plays can not and will not make it to the Final Four. They can however win the Big 12 again and preserve Self’s “impressive” streak, but will once again get beat before the Final Four and maybe before the Sweet 16. At the highest level of competition, Graham gets exposed, and the frontcourt does as well. Brannen Greene, Diallo and Bragg need to be on the floor. Why does he recruit one and done type players when he only values experience? Why spend over $100,000 to “free Diallo” just to lock him up again on the bench? Did he tell Bragg and Diallo during the recruiting process that if they came to KU he would sink their draft status and force them to come back for a 2nd year and thereby cover up his failed recruiting this year? Those 2 players would start at any other team in the country, UK, UNC and Duke included. #FireBillSelf”
It made me so mad, I almost broke down and registered on kusports…lol.
-
@KUSTEVE A year ago I decided to log into their live feed during a game. I could only stand it for five minutes. I don’t think @Jesse-Newell was working that night. I wonder if the dude wants Self fired still? Will he after we wax OK Monday night too?
-
Really think we wax OU Monday? They look solid to me so far…
-
@wissoxfan83 You and I remember when it was a big deal to make the NCAA. I assume you remember the Ted Owens years back in the day, when K-State and Misery were both better programs at that time. So, some of these youngins have grown up spoiled on our success over the years. I’m not worried about it - this looks like a national championship team this year. Imagine how ridiculous they will look by the end of the year…lol.
-
@KUSTEVE There have been a couple of times I’ve broken down, logged on and told them how terrible they had made KUsports… Very sad.
-
The comments on the other site often turn into a Jr high dramathon. Bickering and insulting back and forth. I read them sometimes just for a good laugh.
-
@Bwag I think we look like 2008. The ball just zips around, and gets in the right spot. Maybe I am mistaken, but I don’t ever remember Baylor coming out of their zone to a m2m…ever. Holy cow, remember how we would struggle with zones in the past?
-
@KUSTEVE yes. I’d like to see the stats on time BU has played M2M. I’ll bet today’s game was an outlier for them!
3 Pt shooting. Not fools gold.
-
@cragarhawk Well, we put up 85 against them last year in Lawrence.
-
Amazing game. Lots to love. Only concern is Greene appearing hurt. Any thoughts?
-
58% 3 pt shooting tonight. Looked like we’d dropped from 3rd nationally to 4th with the last couple games, but tonight should have helped.
-
@KUSTEVE good point. I’d like to see it. Right now I feel it’s a tough game. And the PHOG wins the game by single digits in the end.
-
@cragarhawk Me too…lol. I have buds who root for other teams on college bb websites, and they laugh their ass off at Ku fans wanting to get rid of the best coach we’ve ever had.
-
@joeloveshawks Hope the thumb is ok…we need BG back asap…
-
@cragarhawk Just being a homer fan! No, OU actually worries me.
@KUSTEVE I actually didn’t know anything about KU basketball until I enrolled there in 1985, so I don’t remember Ted Owens, but I’ve heard. Back then I was all about anything having to do with Chicago hoops, Depaul, U of I, even Loyola was very good then.
-
@KUSTEVE I think it has more to do with the those particular individuals than who our coach is or what he accomplishes honestly. Some ppl will just always need to say we gotta fire the coach. It’s internal wiring
-
@wissoxfan83 Loved Ray Meyer and Mark Aguirre…man, that was an amazing run…
-
@wissoxfan83 I’m in though. We can wax them. I’d accept that.
-
@KUSTEVE I still can’t believe though that we let St. Joe’s go full court in the last second to beat us! I was a stupid HS kid that year and I thought I wanted to kill myself after that!
-
@wissoxfan83 I was 16 or 17…just loved the DePaul Cinderella story.
-
@wissoxfan83 I was on campus from 82-86 as a student. BBall wasn’t gaining momentum until 85 or 86 under Brown…or I was just out of touch.
I think Late Night started around that time as a marketing tool to gain more interest.
'86 it was rocking though, a dream slightly deferred until '88.
-
@Bwag we took what they gave us, perfectly tonight! Outside first half, inside 2nd half.
-
This OU-ISU game seems like the OU style of play under Tubbs back in the run and gun period.
-
@cragarhawk maybe these 2, OU and ISU will wear each other out.
-
@Bwag OU plays that way all the time…
-
Man I hope OU settles for jumpshots like this on monday
-
@KUSTEVE This is run and gun like nobody’s business…
We’re going to have to be back on defense or they’ll outrun us.
-
@cragarhawk IF KU guards them tough, which they will, then they will settle for jump shots quite a bit. Heild is a pro, that kid can straight up ball. He can make the game very interesting if Selden can’t contain him fully.
-
It’s a contested early jumpshots or a wide open layup every time on both ends right now… Crazy
-
OU-ISU game reminds me of the Loyola Marymount, OU, UNLV (?) offenses of the late 80’s.
-
Do we have anyone that can consistently keep Niang out of the paint off the dribble? OU doesn’t so far. He’s having his way in there
-
@Bwag I don’t think anyone can outrun us…lol.
-
@KUSTEVE on offense in transition I agree. But we have had trouble getting back on defense @bwag is right about that. And we haven’t played anyone that fast yet either I don’t believe
